On May 29, 2026, we observe National Heat Awareness Day to remind everyone of the dangers of too much heat exposure.
Heat exhaustion can swiftly develop into heatstroke, with symptoms like headaches, nausea, and dizziness, and can even lead to heatstroke, which is a serious illness that requires immediate medical attention.
Because our bodies change with age and become less able to cope with sudden fluctuations in temperature, hot weather, and heat waves, older persons are more vulnerable to health issues brought on by heat.

XD I do the opposite, have hot tea to get my body to sweat and cool, open opposite widows/doors that let wind go through, I open everything, my neighbours downstairs even the door... just let the air flow... I promise myself that if it really gets hot like crazy...I wish to be able to get a bus or train and just get to some free spot by the lake. My dream :) to just spend a day like that...

Yeah, it depends how the weather works around you... I think if you live in a very extreme places with flat land with dry air or the opposite in a super humid place... maybe this technique of opening the windows won't work bc the air is still. Here we still have somewhat current to direct for now...
Mini fan and I keep water bottles in the freezer overnight and wake up to icy drinks, very refreshing. Plus, ice poles and lollies. Cool light cotton clothing, rolling the duvet to one side, I like being covered but it's a suffocating humidity

High humidity can make the actual heat feel so much higher! 💦 Loose cotton clothing helps to stay cool for sure.

I’m the opposite, love the heat (it’s in my blood), put on my Tilly Hat, light clothing and putz around in the garden. Drink lots of water/elecrolites.

Stay in the shade and hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! Not just water, replace those electrolytes. Lemon water is good if don’t have electrolytes mix handy or even a diet iced tea.
