Who Can Benefit from 7cups Internship?
Active Listening is a skill that anyone and everyone can benefit from. It is also a great opportunity if you are looking to commit more time to 7cups as a listener and get involved in various areas of this community with the aim of being helpful and supportive of others among us. The internship is primarily addressed to any student enrolled in a Social and Human Services program where a certain number of field placement or practicum hours are required to complete a certificate/degree can participate:
* Undergraduate programs in Health & Human Services, Psychology
* Graduate programs in Counseling, Clinical Psychology, Master of Social Work
* Ph.D. & Psy.D. programs
Students who bring their life experience, academic skills, genuine passion for helping those in need and who also have aspirations of working in the behavioral health field, will likely find this work very rewarding.
While this program is geared towards students, anyone with an enthusiasm to help others while learning about mental health is welcome to register. The internship certificate will add great value to any resume for a job or college application. For more info on the internship program, click HERE

What are the requirements to join as a 7cups Intern?
You are required to have a listener account. You also need to complete 2 1-1 chats (chats with either member or a guest) and 2 member group support chats. This is so you are familiar with the basics of listening and the website which sets you up for success. Any applications that do not meet the requirements will be automatically rejected.

Hi does anyone know when you can apply for the internship program? Also how many hours can you intern for?
@bswstudent You can apply now, the new internship process is already launched. 80 hours for 8 weeks is the minimum and 120 hours for 12 weeks is the maximum. If you need to do more for your school or degree, please reach out to @Hope directly to talk about it.
what is the kit
@wonderousSound48 The kit is where all the details of the internship you need to know like requirements, intern mentors, honors project and such are located.
This is open to everyone of every age right? Including like freshmen in high school? If you were to intern would they be expected to give advice or just listen. Does a listener only listen or give advice too?
@MarkyBanjo It is open to everyone, yes. There are a few requirements that you will need to complete and listening is one of them. You will not be giving any advice, you will remain a listener.

What an interesting question c: Actually, 7cups internship is open to anyone who's interested regardless if you're a high school student, a degree holder or not even in the mental health field. I'd say it'd be a great advantage to undergo internship here, since 7cups is a mental health organization and in demand online support site. Aside from being able to add it on your resume or cv, it could also help you improve your skills such as time management, organization, smart planning, professionalism and most especially active listening skills that would help you in your career path.

Hi @Thementalhealth, yes you can pick any date you like as long as it falls on a Monday. The form asks you to put the Internship start date and that is where you will put your preferred start date.
