Who Can Benefit from 7cups Internship?
Active Listening is a skill that anyone and everyone can benefit from. It is also a great opportunity if you are looking to commit more time to 7cups as a listener and get involved in various areas of this community with the aim of being helpful and supportive of others among us. The internship is primarily addressed to any student enrolled in a Social and Human Services program where a certain number of field placement or practicum hours are required to complete a certificate/degree can participate:
* Undergraduate programs in Health & Human Services, Psychology
* Graduate programs in Counseling, Clinical Psychology, Master of Social Work
* Ph.D. & Psy.D. programs
Students who bring their life experience, academic skills, genuine passion for helping those in need and who also have aspirations of working in the behavioral health field, will likely find this work very rewarding.
While this program is geared towards students, anyone with an enthusiasm to help others while learning about mental health is welcome to register. The internship certificate will add great value to any resume for a job or college application. For more info on the internship program, click HERE

What are the requirements to join as a 7cups Intern?
You are required to have a listener account. You also need to complete 2 1-1 chats (chats with either member or a guest) and 2 member group support chats. This is so you are familiar with the basics of listening and the website which sets you up for success. Any applications that do not meet the requirements will be automatically rejected.

I have a question for anybody who knows!! I filled out the application, does that mean that they will email me and that now I am in the internship? Or that I have to wait and see if I've been approved??
@Questionable556, you will have to wait for the email that will let you know your start date, you can start on that start date.
This is an interesting opportunity! I'm thinking of applying and just looking over the registration form. I have a bachelors degree in Psychology but am not in school currently. Would I put my program level as undergraduate/bachelors or not applicable seeing as i'm not actually a student right now? Thanks!

How do midterm/final evaluations work for the students enrolled in Social Programs? For my internships I always had a supervisor who evaluated me. I am a Social Service Work student from Toronto and I am very interested.
hey @ambitiousZebra4329, you are required to submit certain forms such as weekly progress reports, midway evaluations form, when you are half way through the internship and final evaluation form once it is over. Your progress is supervised and kept in check by the internship team that consists of many people such as me.
My program also requires me to set a goal worksheet for the agency, in order for the supervisors to know what kind of experience I need to complete (ex: "Become familiar with art therapy sessions" or something along these lines). I was wondering how that might work if I will be using an online webssite. I will be talking to my professor about this shortly, but I am sure I will be asked those questions. Thus, I decided to ask these beforehand to be sure

hey, @GreenGrape, an intern at 7cup is a listener who is involved with the internship program. They are given a list of requirements to fulfil within given time frames, they have to submit certain forms to keep track of their progress and they have to do certain things like at least 10 hours of listening in a week. They receive a certificate at the successful completion of the internship.

It has to do with advanced active listening skills. You must do 4 tests in order to graduate, be active in ALL parts of the community, do outreach online and offline. It means loving 7 Cups and being able to help others too, be them members with personal issues or new listeners who want to be better at active listening. You need hours weeky, passion and time but you are free to make it in your own way, no strict requirements necessarily, more like guides on what direction to take.

May be or maybe not. I had not attended psychology classes even in school. My knowledge of psychology comes from reading books
