Leadership Spotlight: SirenOfSerenity

@SirenOfSerenity is a multitalented mentor and adult-teen listener who performs exceptional work in multiple domains. Some of her roles include Listener Coach, Listener Verifier, Quality Mentor, Teen Transitioning Mentor, Adult Listener Chatroom Mentor, Active Listening Test Grader for AL 1 & 3, and Academy Mentor for the Content Development & Marketing Program (CDM).

Siren is a teen advocate and a very warm, approachable leader who deeply cares for our community. And get this - Siren’s only been in our listener family since May of this year!

Why did you nominate Siren? Siren juggles their surplus of leadership roles well, while still providing focused mentor-mentee chats and ensuring the quality of listeners is held to site standard. Siren has boosted my confidence in setting boundaries, encouraged positive growth in leadership roles, and shared experiences where it's okay to be firm (yet respectful) with setting self-care. They are welcoming in the chatroom environments and a positive presence in most discussions I host, especially when stating I was nervous for my first one on a new team to be hosted. Even when they're not in a "mentor leader" position, they lead by example as a great role model.​

We asked Siren some questions to get to know her better:

1) Which fellow 7 Cups leader(s) do you especially admire and why?
It would have to be @Fristo ! Their dedication to Cups and the positive encouragement they commit to spreading through the community is one of the most beautiful things I’ve seen on and off the internet. Fristo’s consistency and commitment to positivity and spreading smiles is very admirable ❤️

2) If you had one piece of advice for our community (leaders/listeners/members/etc), what would it be?
One piece of advice I’d give for our community whether a leader, listener or member is actually a quote: "You may not control all of the events that happen to you, but you can decide not to be reduced by them" - Maya Angelou.

At 7 Cups, there are so many leadership roles, resource guides, growth paths and support sessions aimed at assisting you wherever you are on your life journey. Don’t hesitate to reach out to any leader that has projects, discussions or ideas that you feel moved or inspired to join. You are not alone here, if you want to make a change in yourself or your health, you’re safe and supported here. The decision is yours.
