Leadership Spotlight: Harsvin
Today we spotlight one of our very own Ambassadors! @Harsvin specializes in the quality domain, working as a lead on our Active Listening Team to promote the tests and help guide listeners in building their skills. (If you’re a listener yourself and don’t know about the AL tests, please have a looksie here). Harsvin has been volunteering her time to our community as far back as 2015, and I am so delighted to have the chance to recognize her consistent contributions

Why did you nominate Harsvin?

What motivates you to be a volunteer? Making a difference in someone's life, helping them feel better, and brightening their day motivates me to be a volunteer. And it means a lot when someone says they feel better after talking to me.
Your proudest 7 Cups achievement: My proudest 7cups achievement is scaling up the AL team, and this could only happen with the hard work of all the team leaders and members. I would like to give a HUGE celebratory hug to everyone on the team. Your dedication and efforts are very much appreciated. We couldn't have done it without you
Which fellow 7 Cups leader(s) do you admire and why? The leaders that I look up to and admire are @Chevy81, @ ASilentObserver, and @Fristo. They are all an inspiration to me and have made amazing contributions to our community. I have learned a lot from them in my leadership journey and I'm truly grateful for everything they do.
Which active listening skills help you when communicating with your teammates and fellow leaders?
Empathy is one of the most helpful listening skills to support and understand teammates' and fellow leaders' points of view, as they have feelings too. It's crucial, especially when there's a challenging situation, it feels good to have a listening ear to empathize with and understand one's concerns.
(From the nominator): What makes them so humble and work hard as a volunteer on this platform? Aw, that's really kind of the nominator to say that. My journey on this platform has been an immensely rewarding experience as I have learned so much, discovered my active listening skills, and explored my sense of purpose by being involved in leadership roles that I'm passionate about, which helped me achieve my best potential. The growth, support, and guidance I have received throughout my journey on this platform has encouraged me to work hard and contribute to our lovely community.

For the longest time around here I had wondered why we as listeners are taught these active listening skills but yet for many, the skills seemed to stop at listener to member interactions. I had wondered why others weren't able to see these as highly portable skills that should be applied all across the platform, every nook and cranny, each interaction no matter who it is that we are interacting with. I had thought that this site could be much better (as people make up this site, we as people are the face of 7 cups) if only we as human beings would truly embrace these concepts and show the mastery of them in all ways and with all people. Kindness matters! ❤️
The training has always been there, time to execute the plan! As for me, I have seen so much growth in all of us and I have seen how we as a team are making these concepts translate! Ahhh, life is good! 😊

Same as above... your thoughtful response to the question that was most meaningful to me, made me feel as if I heard *angels sing* Wow! Empathy! Yup! You certainly are spot on my wonderful friend! ❤️ I kind of feel if we were to have empathy for one another, so many other things will flow forth from that and be in direct alignment with the other active listening skills. Guess if you have empathy and you truly care enough to begin with, then you are *plugged in* and you are *in it to win it*!
