porn addiction
i've been addicted to porn for over about 4-ish years now. i didnt try quitting until last year when i realised it has become a true addiction and i cant help but search it up anytime i am by myself. i've lost all my attention span and i think it's purely because of that. so starting today, i want to hold myself accountable. i know there's going to be no linear progress, and i know i'll fail multiple times before i succeed, but i need to try, right?
from tomorrow, i'll try to update often and let you guys know how my progress is going. if anyone is in the same place as me, let's do this together and motivate each other to quit!! i'm finally ready for a new chapter of my life :)
Day 5!!
Going through the same right now. I finally built up a "streak" of 14 days without porn but in the last 3 days I relapsed multiple times. It's really rough and I feel really *** right now, because this was basically my first consistent streak over a week without porn.
(Well, but I'm proud to say that I reached 14 days at all... That's something, I guess. And yes, it took multiple tries)
Tomorrow is a new day. No porn for me tomorrow. I know I can do it. And so can you. The Brain™ sometimes thinks it knows exactly what's the good stuff but in reality he has a exsaspertingly terrible taste and tricks me into watching stuff I would never even glimpse at, if I had a clear mind.
You can do this! You're gonna fail again and again, but that's just part of the process. I like to think of quitting this addiction as of learning how to walk. Because sure, the first time you stood up on your weak little feet, you basically tripped over anything because you had no sense of balance at all. So you fell over. And then you stood up again, and tripped and stood up again, and before you could count to three you've gained the ability to walk and even run around the house.
It's not easy, but if you give yourself the time to archive this, It is manageable. Just don't expect to run a marathon right after a week. (Maybe this post is more me giving advice to myself oops ^^')
Anyways, thanks for opening this thread. Not only is this an important step for yourself, you also help me by allowing me to vent under this post. Thanks :)
day 10! It's been so hard ngl, in fact I'm close to relapsing right now. But decided to come here instead to help the feeling pass. Even if youve relapsed since your original post, as long as you're still dedicated to quitting, you will win, WE will win. These things are marathons, not sprints. We got this♥️
