Dinner With Our Alumni: VerseArt
Hi everyone! I am here with another exciting interview with @VerseArt! For those that don't know, Dinner With Our Alumni is a series of small interviews that I conduct with 7 Cups Academy alumni to know more about their journey in the program. This post is dedicated to the Content Development and Marketing (CDM) Program! The aim is to spread more awareness about the program and hope everyone gives it a read!
So who is VerseArt? Verse has been a listener here since May 2020. They are a community mentor leader for the Positive and Gratitude sub-community and a chatroom moderator for Community Projects and Events sub-community. Apart from that, they have been a pillar of support for many other community things.
What was on the menu? Pav bhaji and pizza!

What made you join the CDM program?
I love creating content. Writing and making illustrations are one of my favorite hobbies. Thus, I wanted to join the CDM Program to learn some basics of this field.
How was your experience doing the program?
I had a great time during the program. It was learning with peers. Reading everyone's response was an informative activity that made it more fun.
Which was your favorite activity in the program?
My favorite activity was creating a graphic and responding to the graphics made by my peers.
How did you enjoy writing an article?
Writing an article is always a fun experience for me when I have the freedom to choose my topic. This freedom allows me to write about the things I consider significant and close to my heart. Thus, it was a wonderful experience to write the article on 'Freedom of Thought' during this program.
What advice would you give to a new CDM trainee?
I believe that peer learning is very important. So, my advice would be to take the feedback from your peers seriously and work on it and give your peers feedback as well.
What are some new things you learned about content through the coursework?
I learned that presenting the content in an easily readable manner is as important as the material of the content itself. And it makes a lot of difference. Whether it's writing in points instead of paragraphs or using the 'show not tell' method via graphics.
How can mentors offer better support for the program?
I found that my mentors were always available and responded promptly to my queries and doubts. I'm grateful to them for it.
How did you enjoy creating graphics for the program?
It was a fun experience. I enjoyed it a lot. It's always great to bring your creative self to the front-row seat.

I remember being in a close co-hort during the CDM haha, and coming across your amazing articles (including the short pieces) and graphic submissions. They all depicted your thoughtfulness, creativity and a certain "I'll give my everything to what I set out to do" attitude. Simply fantabulous!

I agree. I also enjoyed making graphics on canva and responding to others' writings.
It's amusing to see how the same set of keywords yielded sooo different pieces of writings.
