what is something nice that happened to you this year?
we all go through ups and downs throughout the year. sometimes we are faced with hardships but in the face of it all, we need to remember all the good that has happened to us too!
what are some nice things that have happened to you in 2023?
@Clarrisse29
Nice things that have happened to me:
- i finally opened up to my close friends. I finally feel like i can talk to them about anything without judgement. It feels safe and freeing, i appreciate them for it :)
- I put myself out there (joined competitions, volunteered, spoke up, stopped caring what people thought). I used to stutter and have really bad social anxiety, however, this year i joined my first MUN (public speaking). It was extremely nerve-wracking, and i wasn’t the best, but regardless, i’m glad i put myself out there, and did little steps.
- Accept that i’m still growing by stop the relentless comparison. I still compare myself to others, but in a much lower scale. I now understand as a person i’m continuously growing, and it’s ok to take little steps to improve. I used to not have any drive to do anything because i thought i’d never be as good as others anyway. I’m glad i gave myself a chance.
i have been working very hard on my mental health this year and have actually been able to find a couple of wellbeing practices that are helping me. They have not yet replaced my bad habits but that is what I am working towards and I actually enjoy doing the practices
@Clarisse29
1. I joined 7 Cups as a listener! My 11-month listener journey has taught me many things, like being a compassionate leader, saying no to burnout, and of course, lending a shoulder for others to lean on in 1-1 chats
2. I've progressed much in my uni journey; joined the one of the clubs, did an internship with an international company, and met many awesome classmates!
@Clarisse29
It was an year of up and down indeed.
I lost weight. No more obese.
I will maintain this weight for upcoming years as well.

Thanks Clarisse..
Thanks for creating this post and giving us this opportunity to share.
I manage to open up more and finally got into counselling and honestly I really enjoyed it. This year had to be the hardest year I have ever been through. Honestly Im surprised I made it through. I defineintly learned a lot about myself this year. & I'm happy to say I'm really proud of myself. :)
@Clarisse29 I think making wiser decisions about my life and starting therapy after ignoring my feelings for the longest time. This year is ending with toxic people being left behind and an opportunity to build new friendships. To new beginnings!
