who do you reach out to first when you need comfort?
we all need comfort from time to time. who do you talk to when you feel the need for it?
@Clarisse29
My journal! XD
How about you? (Also hey, been a while, good to see youuu❤)
@Sunisshiningandsoareyou
hi sun! it's good to see you too :)
a journal is a nice way to go about sharing your feelings. i usually reach out to one of my close friends and just... cry. words come to me a lot later. i need to get the tears and screams out first xD
@Clarisse29
Aww it's so important to have a safe space to cry and scream at hehe, words arrive when they arrive xD. I'm glad you've got some friends to reach out to. <3
My Mom...but she is no more in this world 😓
@neatStrawberries399 I'm sorry for your loss 😞 It's never easy losing a parent
She was my everything...I have completed lost my passion for life...I don't feel doing anything...or to achieve anything....It all vanished.... don't know my purpose for life now....this is the reason...I get sick every next day....for no reasons ...I cry out loud every night...I cry till my mind get exhausted and falls me to sleep.
@neatStrawberries399 *offers safe hugs* I'm sorry you're hurting so much. I wish there was something I could say that would ease your pain.
She meant a lot to you. You were very close and with her passing her absence would be greatly noticed. Maybe you could honor her memory and feel closer to her by working on something she was passionate about? That could maybe help you find new purpose in your life.
I know it might sound cliche but maybe a grief counselor could help too?
@neatStrawberries399
it must be excruciatingly painful to not have your mother around anymore. the loss of a parent is terrible and something that sticks with us for all our lives. my heart goes out to you. i really hope you're able to find a good support system for yourself.
I feel your pain. I was as close to my dad, and he passed away. It’s been really hard.
Myself. Anyone else may not be available for me to reach out to them. If so they’ll respond to my asking them for help or support or whatever by saying something along the lines of “omg I’m sorry you’re in this situation. I had such a long crazy day/I’m away on vacation right now so I can’t really help you right now but I can when I’m free and will let you know when I’m available and we can discuss a time that’s best for both of us.” Or their phone notifications may be off or on Do Not Disturb mode so they may not even respond to your calls or messages if they even see them which they may not.
I’ll never be away from myself. And who knows what I’m dealing with better than me since I’m the one going through whatever it is?
I trust myself more than anyone else.
I liked your idea of being there for your own self..without searching for others to make you feel comfortable...
I have seen the situations where I tried to explain to the other person the reason of my suffering and they really don't get the point or can't feel the same way as I do. Or when you need someone to talk to you and they are not available due to whatsoever reasons.

Exactly! That’s why I believe people need to learn/train themselves to be there for themselves and not rely on others so much no matter who it is they’re relying on because no one’s gonna always be there for you even when they tell you to call/text them anytime. But what if they’re sleeping or don’t have signal or their phone died and they can’t charge it? How will they be able to see the text or answer the call? Then the person who was reaching out to them might be upset and it’ll cause an unnecessary conflict between them. All this pointless drama can be prevented if people were there for themselves. I understand that they may be in situations where they can’t even be there for themselves like if they’re too sick, lying in a hospital bed, have a disability that may prevent them from self helping, etc but aside from that, it’s best to be there for you! You’ll care more about and trust you and know you and whatever you’re going through better than anyone else.
You already covered this in your comment so I don’t think any explanation is needed. This comment was just expanding on yours. Thanks for your comment :)
@Clarisse29 I usually first talk to god lol, prayer is important, feels good to give all my stress and worries to another being
@YourShouder03 I then go to my mum if i need some raw advice!
@YourShouder03 Also my cat for some cuddles ;)
Hi @Clarisse29! When I need comfort, I often immerse myself in creating something. It allows me to express/channel emotions and find a sense of calm and fulfillment.
Glad to know you have friends who understand and support you during difficult moments! Sometimes letting it all out with someone you trust can be incredibly therapeutic. ❤️
My best friend, but I will never have the chance to meet him again
@Clarisse29 a helpline or healing talkline or counseling line, coach, maybe journal, maybe myself, or maybe a clerk or shopperson.
I used to keep most everything to myself but slowly I'm realizing how similar we all are and that's it's probably okay to talk about taboo things like money and mental health in moderation. Everything in mod. including mod..
@Clarisse29
I am very grateful for my boyfriend and my best friends, they usually are my go-to because I often feel so comfortable just ranting about who-knows-what to them. Of course, they arent there for me all the time so in times of solitude I usually turn to a journal to rant, it helps me remember what I want to say and who knows? Maybe ill use my journal to help remind myself to tell my bf/bsfs
