Reminders
You need to write a minimum of 150 characters and 100 words.
Avoid plagiarism.
Use professional and appropriate language.
If comfortable, you can add a personal anecdote to help add meaning to your answer. However, avoid turning the answer to just your account or an entire focus on your experience.
Be empathetic and consider using active listening skills to help not only answer their question but their feelings - this adds connection and meaning to your answer, as well as identifies understanding, which can lead to trust.
Answers should be related to the question and must contain tips or approaches to help deal with the question/situation instead of vague responses, even if positive.
7 Cups is based on avoiding direct advice, this is because we do not know the complete scenario or situation a person may be facing. Keeping that in mind, avoid giving answers that provide one possible “solution” - a good tip is to consider encompassing all possible outcomes or more than one thing the person can try.
Instructions:

2) In this thread, post the Question IDs, Questions, and Your Answers in a single comment.
3) Additionally, use the links on the Dashboard to submit your answers for publishing on 7 Cups. You will receive a notification once your answer is successfully approved/published.
1. Why do I have feelings for someone I hate? Is this normal?
Mixed
feelings are temporary emotions. They come and go to remind you of something in
your inner child, for example:
trauma bond, love–hate relationships, shadow rejection, etc,…. All of
them need to be respected and continually improved upon. We come to Earth to
learn and practice, so as a
human, your emotions are merely emotional attachments; they can’t define who
you are. Please keep in mind that you can improve in certain situations after
you don’t like when your emotions show up, such as emotional confusion or toxic
attraction. Gradually, you continue to improve your wisdom and understanding of
toxic emotional bonds. The psychology of attraction depends on your wisdom, so
you are the best version of yourself at this moment.

My parents think AI can replace therapist, but deep inside my heart I would argue for never. It is because AI cannot give deep empathy and human connection, complex mental health cases, accountability and ethics, understanding complex human dynamics, handling crises or suicidality safely, and custom-tailored therapeutic interventions. AI therapist can only support between sessions, low-level mental health support, last but not least, accessibility and scalability. In short, AI is only a tool, and cannot be used as a substitute, it can supplement. Serious mental health client must see a professional. In summary, find the therapist that matches you, deal with all issues, do not hesitate for recovery
For I am a Christian, so of course I know my purpose in life is to glorify Hod, it is God’s intentions, not my personal ambition. There are a few ways I can glorify God by worship, fellowship, discipleship, ministry and mission. It is very important be God-centered living than self-centered goals. So it is important to have clarity of values, intentional living, service to others and resilience. Even though, this is very hard to do, so I can pray for God’s strength to accomplish it. In this world, it is so easy to be other things driven instead of God-centered.
Therapist cannot tell other people their clients but there are exceptions: 1) hurting others and oneself 2) abuse on child, elder, or vulnerable adult abuse and last but not least: a court orders them to release information.
Furthermore, therapist have confidentiality laws and ethical guidelines, unless one gives the therapist explicit written permission.
One time a friend of mine went to a church, the leaders are all therapist. However, in a meeting, the other therapist told everyone in the meeting that my friend is so and so’s clients. The therapist was very angry.
In another scenario, one of my friend works for psychologist doctor, and the boss doctor calls the friend’s doctor are you seeing her. He said yes. And so every time she went to therapy and see the doctor, the boss doctor knows about it!
Yes, it is normal to have feelings for someone one hates. It is because 1) emotions are complex and can coexist, 2) cognitive dissonance is at play 3) love and hate are emotionally intense and 4) past experiences or trauma may be involved.
One of my friend, during counseling sessions, the therapist told her to lie down. She has an idea what the therapist going to do. So, she hesitate to lie down. However, the therapist tell her to lie down. And, the evil therapist did it. Later, she sued the evil therapist. However, the evil therapist find a lot of different work. She is furious about him finding good job, even he had a past history of obscene conduct. The evil therapist have two other clients do the same thing. However, the other two clients of his did not sue the evil therapist. She hates the therapist, but also like the high feeling she gets when the evil therapist did.
AI relationship is not a good option. As a girl likes AI, talking to her. She thought this AI is so wonderful. So, she wants to go to AI world. So, she took suicide as an option. I think now new generation are to hook to AI thing, it is very dangerous to tell the difference between imagination person and real person. In AI world there are 1) no human intuition or empathy 2) not trauma-informed, 3) lack of contextual awareness, 4) not a legal or ethical safeguard. However, AI can give 1) immediate support, 2) non-judgmental space, 3) clarity and insight, 4) emotionally safer first step and 5) helpful for learning patterns or skills.
Whether AI therapist good or bad, that is a personal idea. It is only good as a first step, yet it is not a good substitute. 1) AI therapist are not human, 2) limited in crisis or complexity, and ethical limitations. However, AI therapist can give 1) accessibility and convenience, 2) emotional support and reflection, 3) teaching skills and 4) no judgment or bias. However, I would not to have my questions let the AI assist me. I do not want a robot, even though I know they are smart. I am just not use to the technique, I do not like using the AI resource to help me.
Talking to an AI therapist is just like talking to a therapist, but one must approach it thoughtfully. One must 1) be honest and open, 2) be clear about what one wants, 3) use specifics when one can, 4) try tools or exercises, and 5) take breaks and reflect. My mom has been talking with AI for awhile about her problems. She said AI have good answers! My dad also ask AI about my mom’s eye problem. I think my dad is stupid, he is a doctor himself, why does he has to ask AI questions. He said he has to consult AI if there are any new ways to help with the eye.
AI does not have feelings, however, AI can be programmed to act as if it has emotions. AI also can recognize and respond to emotions. AI has 1) no consciousness, 2) simulated emotions cannot equal to real emotion, 3) no biological basis, and 4) no needs or desires.
This remind me of a story by L. Frank Baum, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. The Tin Man wants a heart. The Tin Man is like the modern robot-AI. It can have wrong impression of emotion which can often mistaken for the real thing. Tin Man was surrounded by dog (Toto), Dorothy (the girl), a scarecrow and a coward lion. Everybody wants something to be different. This is human-nature, and no one can realize Tin Man wants a heart to feel!
It is quite normal for teens nowadays to be in a relationships. It is not just this generation people start dating at teens. Back in the Bible times, a lot of people get married in their teens. But now there are many ways to date now like: technology, social media, and cultural norms. There are too many ways teenagers can explore and learn with relationships, so parents need to know their safety. Who is she going out with, what time she is going home. It is important to have emotional maturity, parental or guardian involvement and support, respect, consent and boundaries. Do not be lead with peer pressure!
