Celebratory Travels - Christmas
Hello hello hello passengers! Welcome to the final day of our Celebratory Travels tour! Our last (but definitely not least) leg of the tour is Christmas! I am Hope and I will be your tour guide through this magical holiday journey!
Christmas is celebrated all around the world on December 25th, however in some different Christian traditions Christmas is actually celebrated on different days. This day started as a religious holiday to honor the birth of Jesus Christ, however over time this holiday became a day for many people regardless of religion to spend time with their families, express love and gratitude, exchange presents, share good memories, give back to their communities, and be together. And of course, Christmas morning is also when many children can open the presents Santa Claus left for them!
There are various Christmas traditions all over the world. In the United States of America, decorating Christmas trees, caroling, and sending Christmas cards are some popular traditions. In Japan, many people celebrate this holiday by feasting on Kentucky Fried Chicken! Another wonderful tradition happens in Venezuela where on Christmas Eve, residents head over to church, in roller skates! Many families have their own traditions to celebrate Christmas as well such as watching holiday movies, making cookies, playing games, and more!

I don't celebrate Christmas much. But I do go to malls on Christmas and watch Home Alone movie. I do eat wonderful dry fruits during this season.

I would love to be gifted anything to eat !! I would gift the same to my family so that they share with me .ha ha

I don't do anything. I do celebrate independence day. I don't have any traditions.

I try to be a decent person. I help wit doors or walking across street or on a bus or skipping my spot on the bus and sometimes help at the foodbank.

Independence day sounds fun! If comfortable sharing, what do you to celebrate this day? It can feel really horrible feeling like we don't deserve any gifts. It sounds like you care about your sister a lot, it is truly kind of you yu want to give her everything. Wow, it sounds like you do for your community! Yes, I do celebrate Christmas. We have fasting until Christmas day, we go to church and have delicious food on Christmas day and share it with everyone.

The people in my household don't Celebrate Christmas, but I do since I'm my own person. I celebrate it by gathering with family and giving gifts along with recieving gifts.

🎅 I do celebrate Christmas! I find it such a joyful time to spend with your family and remember the great things that happened that year (which I think will be quite challenging for 2020, but all the more needed)! We usually celebrate it in a very informal way, but one tradition that we always do is that each year a different person prepares the dessert!
🎁 If I could receive any gift in the world, I would want the COVID-19 vaccine for everyone! And I would love to give a smile to a stranger who needs it, it can make someone's day!
🎄 I would love to volunteer in an NGO where I live to distribute food for those who need it! And, of course, continuing here on 7Cups where there is so much joy!

❄ Do I celebrate Christmas? Yes I do, it use to be more family oriented but over the years my siblings have found their own families, lost some of our immediate family loved ones and just grown apart. So Christmas is different now, even more so with the pandemic.
🎁 If I could receive one gift it would be hard to pick, self - sustaining employment that allows me to travel, regain my independence, use my creativity, meet people, help others, feel valued and learn new things would be not only great but truly amazing.
If I could give a gift to others it would be the gift of kindness, but it would come with a hitch : you have to pass it on.
🐈🐕 How do I give to my community? Pre-pandemic I tried to volunteer and I donated to our animal shelter. Now because of the pandemic I will only be donating to the animal shelter. I use to love to go and visit the animals even if I couldnt take one home, but now because of the pandemic you cant visit anymore, I really miss that and I think the animals probably do too.
Hopefully next year will be better.🥳

I hear you, I imagine it could be difficult going from celebrating a more family oriented Christmas to more separate ones. I am very sorry for your losses. This year with the pandemic celebrating Christmas can be very different like you said, as well as more challenging. It definitely can be difficult choosing between all those things you mentioned, I hope one day you can receive every single one of them! The gift of kindness is an incredible thing to give, and I love the idea that everyone has to pass it on, like a kindness train. Aww thank you for volunteering and donating at your local animal shelter, that is very kind of you. I admire that now even though you are unable to volunteer, you are still donating.
