I like pasta dishes but not a fan of cheeses or pizza, don't like parmesan either 🤗
@Amanda84 Omg, I've never known anyone who doesn't like cheese. 😶😶 I 💛 🧀!
You do now ;)
@YourCaringConfidant
Ha, I highly dislike it 😁

@Amanda84 😂😂😂 Omg, that 🧀 to the face cracked me up. Bahhhh. 🤣🤣
@YourCaringConfidant +1
Lasagna might be one of my least favorite Italian foods, but making it is so much fun. You layer noodles, sauce, meat, and cheeses. It makes me feel like a kid again. 😂
What are your favorites??
Good ol' spaghetti and meatballs gets a high spot. 😋 Also, truer-to-form Italian pizza that isn't overloaded with cheese and grease is really good. I love minestrone, Italian wedding soup, bruschetta... Ooh, very much like tiramisu, and panettone... Bolognese, carbonara, cacio e pepe, pesto, ravioli, linguini, eggplant parmigiana... Geez, I think the only one besides lasagna that I don't care for is baked ziti.
What’s wrong with baked ziti??? It’s just pasta hehe
It's felt more like a casserole, and with way too much cheese from the ones I've had. I don't like having a ton of cheese.
All sounds amazing to me. I am 75% Italian by birth, but was adopted by Slovenian and Irish family. I love ethnic foods and these threads are awesome! Thank you for posting. I’d love authentic Italian recipes please, if anyone has them.
@jesusredeemedme2425
I love, love, love pasta!
I've tried so many sauces- alfredo, marinara, arrabbiata, carbonara, creamy garlic. I've never been disappointed. I can't wait to try ravioli and tortellini. I'm dying to.

What’s arrabbiata?
Ravioli is sooooo good <3
@jesusredeemedme2425
Arrabbiata pasta is a classic spicy Italian red sauce dish featuring tomatoes, garlic, and red chili flakes, originating from Rome, Italy, with "arrabbiata" meaning "angry" in Italian, referring to its heat.
(Google)
Oh angry pasta ;)
@jesusredeemedme2425 😂😂
Chicken fettuccine Alfredo 🤤

@mytwistedsoul Mmmmm, soooo delicious! 😋
@YourCaringConfidant Sometimes I add broccoli to it 😁😋
@mytwistedsoul Me too. And the creamier the sauce, the better. I don't like the fettuccine noodles too dry. Lol.
@YourCaringConfidant Omgosh yes! The sauce is what makes it taste so good!

@YourCaringConfidant No pineapple? 🤭 Kidding! 😂😂
@mytwistedsoul I love 🍍 on my 🍕, but wouldn't that take away from the Italian side of pizza? Lol. 😋😋😋
@YourCaringConfidant Good point!
Honest question: Do Italians eat pineapple on their pizza? Or is that a purely American thing?
Dumb question I know lol
Supplì are an Italian fried rice ball from the Lazio region. A simple Roman street food made from cooled risotto that is rolled into balls or sausage shapes, stuffed with cheese then breaded and deep fried. They’re served in friggitorie (shops that sell fried food), bakeries, pinsa (Roman pizza) shops, and delis across the region. They’re often called ‘Supplì al Telefono’ (Supplì on the Telephone) as the stringy cheese is said to resemble a telephone wire! The word Supplì is derived from the French word for surprise which can only refer to this hidden stuffing.
Supplì are made using risotto rice like arborio, carnaroli or vialone nano. A short grain rice that has a lot of starch, and ensures creamy results. When it cools it becomes thick and malleable, perfect for shaping supplì.

Italian food is my fav. I love pasta and pizza!
So my fav pasta is penne with spinach and chicken. I also love the most simple spaghetti bolognese. My favorite pizza is with red onions corn and chicken and if you’re ever in Rome go to pizzeria ‘Alice’. They got so many around whole city and the pizza is great.
Visit Venice in the late spring or early fall and you’re in luck – not only will there be (marginally) fewer tourists, but you’ll be in the right season for moeche. Venetian dialect for “soft,” these are tiny lagoon crabs which shed their shell and are caught in the couple of days between sloughing off the old and having the new one harden. “Moecanti” fishermen harvest them on Burano, Giudecca and Chioggia, at the southern end of the lagoon; they’re usually fried, and eaten whole, often alone, but sometimes with polenta.

@jesusredeemedme2425 Whole?! 😲
They’re soft shell crabs. <3
@jesusredeemedme2425
Hard pass from me 😂
@jesusredeemedme2425 Oh.... 😅 uh yeah that's still a no for me. I'm with @Amanda84 on this one 😅
@mytwistedsoul
You see, me and you have sense 😂😂💚
@Amanda84 Exactly! 😁

I bet if you tried it, you’d love it. ;) You prolly thought the same about coconut shrimp hehe
@jesusredeemedme2425 You're probably right 😅 Even though they're soft shelled, they're probably crunchy after they're cooked. 😬 My brain would be screaming "you're eating the whole thing and that's the shell that's crunching! " Ahhhhh! 😂😂😂
@jesusredeemedme2425
I did but for good reason 😂😂
You don’t like coconut shrimp????
@jesusredeemedme2425
Does anyone? 😂😂😂
@Amanda84 And me 😁 😂
