Orlando Nightclub Tragedy - Discussion & Support
Early this morning a mass shooting occured at a gay night club in Orlando, Florida. Recent reports site that 50 people were killed and many more injured.

I am deeply saddened by this news report and wanted to create a space for us to talk about this tragedy and support one another. Please share how you are feeling here and lets have a supportive discussion that lifts our hearts up and honors those who have been impacted.
To be honest,I was surprised when I saw the news on Facebook.I hope it doesn't happen anymore anywhere else.
Being a member of the LGBTQ+ community, this massacre utterly shocked me because people should be free to love whomever they want to love and I can't believe someone would do something like this. My heart goes out to the victims, the surviors, and their families.
I live an hour or so away from Orlando. Though I didn't know any one personally in the shooting, it's been really scary seeing it on the news everywhere, reminding us about how we're being killed. This time of the month last year we were celebrating same sex marriage. 1 year later, during pride month, someone targeted our community and 50 people have been killed in this tragedy. My heart and support goes out to the families of the victims and the community. You're all lloved! Have a safe and happy Pride month. Don't let this one man tear down our Pride!

the international support has been so heartwarming. To see the crowds in London and such with rainbow flags and messages of support for Orlando... It's beautiful. There is so much good in this world.
I want to recognize that we all experience the aftermath of these tragedies so differently, but I also want to remind everyone that we are banded together by love. What happened was absolutely horrifying. I can't even imagine what many of the clubgoers went through that evening, nor can I imagine the pain families, friends and victims are experiencing at this very moment.
I see in the aftermath that many are caught up in hate, that many are caught up in trying to blame something. I suppose one could argue that it's a natural human instinct to look for a "reason". My call to the community is that we come together as best we can right now, that we love each other, that we support those who are having difficulties, that we support people in our community who feel this very personally.
I want everyone, everyone, to know that we love you and we are here for you. There are no words to make what happened better but I want you all to know that I am deeply perturbed by this event and want to offer my support.

I don't live in America nor Orlando but this shooting affects me. A lot. To be honest, it scares me that it might happen to my country because the lgbtq+ hate right here is very strong. This massare is a hate crime against the lgbtqaip+ community, what's more on our pride month. It's sad that this happens. I want everyone to know that you're all valid and loved. To those who lost friends and families in the shooting, I will always pray for you. Stay safe everybody! x
