My friends leave me alone when say "I'm fine" and then ignore them. They know I'm not fine, they can see it too, but I sometimes wish someone would call me out on my very obvious bluff...

@benzenec6h6, wow. That is actually awesome to admit that because a lot of us have that same feeling and could never say it. I would say tell the one friend who you are closest to how you feel and hope they can see how it makes you feel. Sensing hugs your way:)

I dunno.. there's good alone, and there's bad alone, ya know? I feel very alone when I'm out somewhere in nature, and it's really quiet, and nobody else is around... no cars or anything. And that can be sorta surreal, in a really nice way. But I also feel alone, in a bad way, when I'm sitting at home, by myself, with nothing to do. That's when I remember I've got no pals to hang out with, no social alternatives to fix my alone-ness in those moments. Makes me feel a little like I've got nobody to depend on, and nobody waiting for me. Nobody even... thinking about me. And the idea of being forgotten is one of the most depressing thoughts I have.

If feel most alone...

- on any given day
- in large groups of people
- when I keep trying to communicate with others and its like talking to a wall
- when things go wrong, and wrong, and wrong...

I feel most alone when i think about how i am nobodys first choice. Yah, i talk to a few people, say hi to. But i am no ones favorite person and nobody looks forward to talking to me or anything, and that sucks..

I call that "Ghosting" when I do it on purpose. Some situations are just better to "be there and be ignored".

When it's a room full of Hoggers -- they don't share the spotlight with anyone. How could they? They can't see beyond themselves. There is so much drama around Hoggers -- its exhausting, their exhausting, and trying to squeeze in comments like a well-skilled sniper - that's exhausting too.

@diplomaticconfucious

lol I like how you think. To be honest I would rather be unnoticed.

@Bunnylover123

I think going unnoticed is under-rated sometimes. Sure there are situations where you need to step up.
But when things are benign to the point of being petty or superfluous -- I don't understand why I should take the energy to engage.
