Medication question
I am aware that [Edited by SilentSerenityy for medication names] is a mood stabilizer as well as an anti psychotic which is what I'm on now....but why is it that the lowest dose is 5mg but for [Edited by SilentSerenityy for medication names] it was 1mg ...What makes the difference between these two medications? Also has anybody on this forum ever got a double reduction in medication,meaning a reduction on two different medications at the same time? Is that possible....
I understand what you have edited my post for but how will I get an answer to my question and how will ppl even kno w what I'm talking about? Lol
The censorship in these forums means you cannot get reliable answers here. You can only get generalizations.
In general, doses of different drugs are often different. For specific information try asking in some other forum.

I understand your point, but it's for the safety of everyone. ☺ Your second question can and has been answered, but the first question is best to be asked to a doctor.
@SilentSerenityy is the medication rule in the forums not now decided by whether the subcommunity has decided what they are allowing? I see nothing about meds mentioned in the depression area nor the general rules.
@AffyAvo
I thought we couldnt just mention meds in the group rooms because it could be triggering in a setting but in a thread that is a question like this I would think it would be allowed.
@HalliwellSister This is the last thing I recall about it:
@AffyAvo
They are still working on that and it's not certain that it will definitely happen. We've had a mentor meeting and the rule will be changed soon to not allow any medication names anywhere in the forums, but to only say "anxiety medication" for example. I hope this clears things up. :)
@indigoNest5772
You can pm a listener and talk about specific meds. Ive done that.
What are people freaking out about, I mean really, how is anyone going to be able to answer such a question even if it weren't censored. We aren't doctors lmao.
@Phthalo
thats true.
@Phthalo This is supposed to be a place free of stigma. There's a huge stigma relating to medication and things like this don't help. Even when things are within the rules people have been penalized for mentioning medications without warning.
@AffyAvo
No-one has been penalised. :)
@AffyAvo I don't think it's a stigma, I'm pretty sure 7cups just doesn't want to be held legally responsible if someone tells someone to take ____ dose of ____ substance. I mean if you want a stranger on the internet to tell you what medication is best for you or to discuss which brand is better or which has which side effects then there's the rest of the internet for that...or a doctor...
@Phthalo There very much is a stigma. People assume negative things about me based on my med use here fairly often.
What about getting support for medication issues, or hearing someone who is going through the same thing?
The poster here asked about people who reduced their medications, I think sharing experiences can be useful for each other.
@AffyAvo
You can still get support regarding medication issues without mentioning the exact drug name. The first question became obselete after the edit (but it was probably best for them to ask a doctor about that in the first place) but the second one was very easy to answer without needing the exact drug name. ☺
