Autism Update
Autism is now a 1-1 chat topic.
This means that listeners can include it on the list of topics that they support as well as add it as a topic they have personal experience with.
Members can send out a general request to chat 1-1 with this topic or they can browse listeners and use the topic filter.
There have been some other things done this past year.
There was a neurodiverse survey and from that it was decided to open up a pop up neurodiversity chat room. See the link to read more about that update
Group Support also put out this thread on supporting our neurodiverse members
Support Plus is still the primary subcommunity that covers autism support, but as always disability support is inclusive of a wide range of conditions, disorders, and diverse ways of being so we wanted to inform people in this subcommunity of these updated tools to seek and provide support.

It should definitely indeed be helpful. It was never easy having to choose different 1-1 categories while having a meltdown 😀 i could never decide between disabilities or managing emotions, so because of that if i was to be having a meltdown, i would automatically be forced to wait it out as it’s next to impossible to make any decisions while feeling overwhelmed or having a meltdown. So i find that having autism spectrum as a 1-1 topic, i would be more likely to end up with listeners who actually understand autism more. 😊 so i am very happy to see it as a topic, as I’ve had my struggles with the other ones
Hi, bit random I know, but does anyone who's a listener here who has Asperger's or understands it happen to tutor German on italki, preply, verbling etc. Online tutoring programs.
