yes but it doesn’t exist rn as I am not working until April

Are you making changes to your routine (perhaps connected to a new year's resolution)?

i am taking more time for myself

Do you find it's difficult to keep up with a routine?

it’s not difficult as I must have a routine as I have autism

How are things going for you this week?

my week has been painful, I’ve had 4 different sources of pain and my back is currently spasming on me, I’ve given up on the teens support room for a week due to circumstances that happened yesterday 😮 so yeah, my week hasn’t been good

@emotionalTalker2260 Ouch to the pain. Sorry to hear the room isn't working out for you, especially right now! Hopefully that will change when you decide to return.

Taking some extra time for yourself can be a great way to recharge!

@emotionalTalker2260, I also have autism (plus ADHD) so I fully understand how important a routine in one's life can be. I am so sorry you are having a bad week so far! Pain is never an easy thing to deal with. I am glad you are taking some time for yourself though. Sometimes a break is all we need so we can focus on our health. I do hope you return soon to the teen support room as it is such a good resource. I totally understand needing a break from it if things didn't go so well, and just allows everyone to cool down and get back to where they were.

I hope you feel better soon! And today is only Wednesday, so 4 days in the week left to turn it around. Who knows, maybe the rest of the week will be the best week of your life! Take care!

XD, yes I've noticed that people with autism tend to have ADHD as well. I am not 100% why. I guess it is just how we are wired

@emotionalTalker2260, what a great perspective on it! I agree, I wouldn't change the way I am. It has shaped me into the person I am and I am better because of it.

My routine changes every 10-11 weeks with my school schedule. Last term I would have to be up for classes at 8 AM. This term I have mainly online classes so I work at my own pace which is kind of nice. With my disabilities it is nice working at my own pace because I am able to focus on my well being easier than if I were to have 5 in person classes to get to. Our term just started so I am not fully into the swing of it yet but I will be making changes as otherwise I'd stay up until 1 AM and not get up until 3 PM which is not good for my overall health right now. Sometimes it is hard to have a routine , but that is usually just when I am having a bad health day. If it is a normal day then the routine doesn't bother me. In fact, the routine helps me stay focused (which is great for my ADHD) and accomplishing the tasks I need to get done for the day.

So far this week has gone well. My classes are just getting started so I am still getting used to new ways professors teach things and getting involved in clubs. My health is great this week, but I also am just in a good mood emotionally. My football team won their game this week and I am looking forward to celebrating my birthday this weekend with my family since I will be at school on my actual birthday.

Hiya 🥰 I've had various written routines over my years. But since having a nervous breakdown, I've allowed myself to just flow like I have always felt naturally most comfortable doing. I'm most at ease responding to life as it emerges I think. I'm always ok effectively responding to the universes natural flow, always have been in this regard. What is my curse is I am an empath and have often been unable to discern others energy impacts on me. What I feel most often in my body are not even my own feelings I'm becoming to identify, increasingly so to be honest. It's frightening when it causes extreme pain, confusion and exhaustion such that I pass out without warning. Hence I hermit for self care and safety. Better alone methinks.

Hi @Zed786! It sounds like you have found the right flow of a routine for yourself! I can understand how the feelings can cause the extreme pain. I have a medical condition where when I get super stressed or a physical symptom I can pass out so while I cannot 100% understand your situation I do understand how scary it can be. We will get through this together though!

God willing aye. Bless you for the reassuring words. They help lighten me. My body thinks its fun to trap nerves in my joints. Had decompression surgery previously, now await MRI on my spine to decide how to decompress the trapped nerves that cause pain such that I pass out, lose bladder control and limb function. Happy days indeed lol. It is just another hiccup on my path home, no biggie to me tbh 💖🦥🕊

Hi.

I'm new to this subcom and wanted to just say hi. I have not really chatted in the group chat yet nor really posted on here much. But today is a great day to start :)

Do you have a routine?

Yup, I do .

Are you making changes to your routine (perhaps connected to a new year's resolution)?

Yes, some of my NY resolutions do shake up my routine because i have noticed, for me, that I tend to plan and schedule too much and my days are all the same. But when i am so busy doing my daily routine - i dont allow time for unplanned joyful activities that I could be doing or surprises that land in my day!

Do you find it's difficult to keep up with a routine?

no, it actually gives me a way to structure my day, gives me a reason to get out of bed in the morning and is kind of a sense of comfort and security.

How are things going for you this week?

Really bad news at the dr and im really scared. Also feeling very alone and isolated. So not a good week for me.

@blissedNblessed, welcome! It is absolutely a great day to start chatting! We are so glad you have joined our community! It sounds like you know exactly what you need to do to enjoy the days more. Often we get caught up in the life we plan each day and end up just going through the motions. When we disrupt things sometimes it allows for those unplanned surprise moments.

I am so sorry your doctor's appointment did not go well. It is never a good feeling to hear your doctor not give a clean bill of health. Hang in there though and just keep chugging!

How are things going for you this week? i miss some friends from 7cups. New year brought up all these memories on weedygarden, blindgrapefruit and other nice people who hosted discussions in the past, and also many members who are gone by now. I miss them very much. They went away without even saying goodbye to me (which is the same as ghosting).

Hey @CheerySandi. I totally understand where you are coming from. It is hard to leave our friends or them leave us. I try to just remind myself that usually when people leave on here it means they needed a self care break long term or permanently. Sometimes there is no time to say goodbye. For example, back in October I was home from college for the weekend when I heard a knock on my door. It was the worst day ever as I lost my fiancé in the war. I had very little time to say anything besides to my leaders and I had a self care break. It wasn't that I didn't want to say bye because I did but in that moment I had more relevant stuff going on. So while you see it as ghosting, just remember that it probably wasn't done out of disrespect but because something came up.

@CheerySandi I wish we had a way to check in with our leaders who stepped away. I miss them too and hope they are ok!

Do you have a routine?

It really depends on the day. When my son works I have more of a routine than when he's home. Typically I'll get up get ready and make us food. Then when he's off to work I spend time doing school work and stuff for my internship with breaks to take care of the house. When he's off and we don't have errands we typically sleep and rest a lot to prep for the next 4 days he works.

Are you making changes to your routine (perhaps connected to a new year's resolution)?

For 2022 I chose the word "Focus." I'm trying my best to focus on school and my internship on the days my son isn't home. When he's home it's so easy to just chill.

Do you find it's difficult to keep up with a routine?

This routine just started when he got this job right before Christmas. It's been an adjustment but I just told him I like the 4 days on 3 days off routine.

How are things going for you this week?

Tomorrow starts our 3 days off and I'm honestly looking forward to it. I've been having issues with my MS this week. I told a friend last night that my physical wellness isn't going to interrupt my mental well being though. I'm actually in a pretty good space.

Hi Affy 🙂, it's so difficult to stick to a routine with my sleeping disorder and many other issues.

I have to adjust my routine daily, weekly, or monthly based on symptoms.

I have many things I'm trying to accomplish this year, but it will be challenging.

The only thing that are a daily routine include hot baths and coffee.

With online college starting I know I need to work on making a routine but ADHD and chronic pain always wanna throw hands 😭😭 I'm slowly working on getting treatment and skills for ADHD to try and build a routine but it does kinda suck sometimes. My brain just doesn't want to like a toddler throwing a tantrum.

Wherever The Moment Takes You

Some need to plan ahead,
Knowing what they are doing,
Where and also when.

It keeps them feeling organised,
From worrying about what might come in their way,
Their mind free to focus on their tasks for the day.

They live in oh such a regimented way,
A sense of achievement do these people feel,
A life lived in a very productive way.

Then there's others that are au contraire,
Living their life in a way more carefree,
But reconsigning the important things to them.

They tend to to not over-think issues non critical,
Stay ahead of their day to day game,
Give themselves a chance to breathe and take a break.

What issues are outside their control and they unable to so influence,
Are not given a second chance, look or consideration,
The speed of focus is all alone upon what you consider important.

So give it a go, don't plan incessantly and thereby restrict what you might achieve,
Live in the moment, reacting and thrilling in achieving the things quickly, that are within your control,
Don't let worry overwhelm your life, chill and go with the Universes natural flow.
