Zero Discrimination Day - 1st March 2023
Today is Zero Discrimination Day! This day is celebrated by the United Nations and helps to promote equality throughout all of the member nations, particularly through their laws. ❤️
"In February 2017, UNAIDS called on people to "make some noise around zero discrimination, to speak up and prevent discrimination from standing in the way of achieving ambitions, goals and dreams.""
So my questions for the disability community are:
What could be changed/improved to reduce discrimination against people with disabilities?
How could people who aren't disabled help you to feel included and accepted?

@SilentSerenityy
Thanks for making this post! I feel every day should be a zero discrimination day, and for everyone at all. Something all of us can try to do our best at! 💛
@SilentSerenityy
Thank you for making a post about the Zero Discrimination Day!
What could be changed/improved to reduce discrimination against people with disabilities?
I think including people with disabilities into conversations, privately and politically, except for pushing them off, would be the basis for a real change.
How could people who aren't disabled help you to feel included and accepted?
I appreciate people who take the time to ask and listen to me and try to make the social life more accessible for everyone.
@SilentSerenityy what this day means
Oops I'm a day late but I really appreciate this being done!
Something that would help me would be if people had more trigger awareness and then helped with avoiding exposures.
Healthcare could use so much work. Proper education on how to manage particular conditions would go far. There was such a huge delay with benefits too (like over a decade) because doctors struggle with what they cannot see. So much of the support relies on what the medical professionals say.
What could be changed/improved to reduce discrimination against people with disabilities? We are normal we just may learn differently. Be patient and don’t talk down to us.
How could people who aren't disabled help you to feel included and accepted? Don’t tell us that we can’t take a class or sport or band just because of our disability let us figure it out. We can do anything we just might do it a little differently.
