What have I lost in my life due to my eating disorder... Honestly I've lost what my life used to be. And yes it can be good, but really it complicates everything.
With love,
Breathe
Clarification: By good I mean that yes sometimes growing and changing can be important, but in the case of an eating disorder it complicates a lot of things.

@Laura I lost my friends, my dancing, my music (I couldn't play because I couldn't focus) and any kind of art. I also guess years of my own life like all my school years annoying yes but if I could get them back I would but I guess it was something to learn from, a life experience.
I have lost my sense of self, my ablity to trust my body, the ability to just freely eat and not worry or calorie count, all of my friends, being able to go out when I want to bc of how I think I look, lost out on so many good times with friends, a good relationship with my sister ( also ED), years and years of my life, grades throughtout school, freedom, love for my body, being able to eat without moralizing what I am or am not eating, determining my worth by what i do and how I feel instead of what I weigh or what size I am, some health, relationships with family, freedom to be myself, freedom from obsessing over Everything weight or food related, a life free of self hate ( working in that!), thoughts free from LOTS of cognative distortions and the ability to just be me and express myself.
@blissedNblessed
Hugs Blissed, Im sorry you lost so much, and I hope things will get better for you and you will regain some of what you have lost <3
@AmInACoffin
HUGS Amin! Thank you.
Yes - I have lost a lot.
But currently am in the process of getting that all back now :D
It is hard and take Constant awarness - but hey, no one said it would be easy - just that it would be worth it !
i lost many things due to my eating disorder. i lost my family and friend's trust. i lost my oppurtunity to be a normal teenager and do normal teenager things. i lost the confidence to go out with my friends to eat every wednesday night. i lost the ability to eat whatever and not worry. i lost myself in the midst of my eating disorder. but all lost things will be found eventually and i have to keep reminding myself that.
My self confidence I suppose.. That I can't control myself..
My confidence, my health, my thoughts...
All I can think about is food and what it's going to do to me if I do eat it. I don't trust myself around places with a lot of food
I've lost years of my life, and I lost my long-term partner (my ED was one of many reasons he left). I've lost my ability to be full of energy when I needed it, and I've lost my trust in the people who were supposed to help me.
Lost time, people, loved ones, self confidence, lost myself, my true self... Afortunately I'm getting back to my way, fighting for recovery and getting better everyday :D
