I've lost my childhood friends
It's heartbreaking, but I feel like we have nothing to talk about anymore, or the same interests, the same goals in our lives.
It hurts. They live abroad now, and even if I went there to spend some time with them, the silence was so heavy, and I felt so awkward, as if it wasn't my place or as If I was unwanted. Their reaction was super cold and just... Distant.
It's just so sad how things change so fast... Especially growing up.
And this sadness never left me after that trip.

It is really sad when the connection with old friends is lost , unfortunately a part of life , some people seem to move on faster than others being busy in their new life etc , others seem to try their best to hold onto the friendships it seems your friends didn't try at all ? That really sucks I get why you'd feel so upset about it 😕
I totally feel you as I've lost childhood friends as well. It truly broke my heart. However whenever one is hurt they often realise strengths they never had. I think I'm a stronger person as a result of losing these friends. I'm happy just being me. My world is about me alone. My individuality is what matters. I don't wish them bad, they're growing in ways life is asking of them, I will always love the good times we spent together. But, I have now found the drive to collect new experiences by making new friends as a more matured self. No more mourning what's gone. Life keeps giving.
Friendships are often formed in similar situations like school or work and once that main connection is broken it is hard to keep up especially if they have busy lives and things going on.
I know it is depressing when you feel forgotten or left out but it is a solid sign you too should expand your horizons and meet new people closer to your life.
