What do you think how loneliness changes a person?
@ASilentObserver
Yes, I think so. I would hope you have people around you to help and support you during that difficult time <3
@goldenLion1121 agreed Lion. getting all help and support is really helpful to tackle loneliness. How are you doing?
@ASilentObserver
Definitely!
I'm doing okay, or at least trying to be okay. It's really tough at the minute. Thankyou for asking <3 How are you Obs?
Yes, I think it can. I find it important to be self aware and try to be true to my core. Lately, I’ve learned to reach out to others for help.
I’m very grateful I have two wonderful listeners here.
Yeah I think so... it will affect how we act and perceive things around us.
But it will be good if we are aware of how we are feeling and reach out to people around us! Just a simple hello/ good morning to start the ball rolling ✨✨✨
@ASilentObserver
Here comes the person whom must analyze and go at programmatically.
The question:
"Can loneliness change the person that you are?"
We must first break up the question. so let us look at the first word "Loneliness"
Description: "Loneliness is an unpleasant emotional response to perceived isolation."
Which at then, I would breakup the sentence again. It is NOT asking if you were alone would it change you. The question is "will loneliness change you?" Which relates back to the description of the word "Loneliness".
I will make a bold statement and state a definitive "Yes"
Being that the definition is saying that the unpleasant emotional.
Going at it from the perspective of "Will loneliness change you?"
In my recent experience. My Spouse had a medical issue and we were not local. Cognitive functions drastically low with spouse, and then being asked to leave (Separation).
I am unsure if it was accepting \ dealing with being alone or was it that I was experiencing emotional trauma and didn't know (fill blank).
Upon thinking hard, I have dealt with (many times) being in a room full of people, being with hundreds of people, and being alone.
That was not what I was feeling\dealing\experiencing with my spouse.
The setting:
First let me say, was over 800 miles from home. ~600 miles to nearest family member. We were on a vacation, in a foreign area. Was Air Lifted (2+ hrs) to this new area.
The only clothing I had was on me. Never been to the area in my life, so didn't know anyone or know where anything was.
Did not have any form of transportation. It had been close to 72hrs since I had a reasonable sleep.
It was in the middle the of the night (2am ish) when admitted to the hospital and in a room.
So we have an understanding as to what we are leading into, then the Nurse stated that it was time for me to leave the Hospital (8:00pm), "visiting" hours are over.
My mind EXPLODED, what part of this is, is visiting?
Heart started to pound, "Where am I to go?" - commonsense says Hotel. Been in many in my life. But that didn't matter at the moment.
Nurse responded, "I am sorry but visiting hours are over."
My response "Not from here. What you see is ALL I have." Started to stutter and panic. "but but but, I don't have anything, or anyone, or anywhere to go."
Nurse politely responded, "You can Uber to a hotel". While this is most logical and reasonable response. I would say the same thing if I were the nurse.
BUT, BUT, in this circumstance, at this time, my mind panicked! My Heart was pounding. I was like a four year old and you took my toy and then yelled at me no with an angry face.
If I didn't know better. I would have cried. Bawled like there wasn't a tomorrow.
Maybe the nurse saw something, I am unsure ...
But after (what seemed hours to me, but was maybe a second) ...
The nurse stated, "Let me talk to the manager to get you a pass for tonight. But tomorrow, you will need to get a hotel room."
Is that what Loneliness is?
@ASilentObserver I think it depends on who you are surrounded by, and who you are. The people in your life should be there to support you when you feel alone, but if those kind of people are not available, or you have a hard time accepting their support, it can change you. Speaking from experience, I think it is easier to lose yourself in your lonliness if no one is there to actually care.
Yeah. It does. It makes you, as the person experiencing loneliness that there's nobody in the world who cares about you. That every relationship you ever had or could have will just end up with you being left behind. Alone. Because all we are for ppl, those who end up experiencing loneliness. We're just a stepping stone. A stopping point. And nobody stays long term. Who wants friends or any kind of relationship if all ppl ever do is leave us?
@ASilentObserver
I think we are still that same person. Loneliness might just bring out one more side of us.
@VaryingCloud
That's a very interesting perception
@Grayskull22534 💜 : )
@VaryingCloud yeah for sure. I think it makes you look at your one side which was consciously or unconsciously unknown to you. But do you think there is a positive side of experiencing loneliness?
@ASilentObserver
Definitely yes. I think it brings out creativity in that individual if well taken advantage of. And yes, it might surprise you too with your untapped side.
@ASilentObserver
i believe that loneliness can change the person that you are. if you are naturally a gregarious and social person and you obstain yourself from social interaction, you will begin to develop emotional problems and quite possibly, mental problems.
loneliness can be a state of mind or situation and it can change the person you are. i think everyone should have a support group of family and friends that they communicate with frequently, whether they live alone or not!
