Almost a year ago this guy that I had a talking stage with died. And it just hurts because he truly made me feel loved even tho it was long distance. He made me feel pretty even in times where I felt ugly. I feel like I won’t ever meet a guy like him. But I feel like I’m doing to much cuz I didn’t know him for long and we stopped talking for a while, I was planning on talking to him again, then I found out he passed. He was beautiful, inside and out. I still can’t believe it, just looking at the cute videos he used to send me makes me cry. I miss him. Are my feelings valid or am I doing to much😔✊

@hughjanus1738

That would be a huge shock to find someone you were conversing with passed even if you had only known for a short time.... I think you may be missing him but more you are missing how he made you feel or how even in short time of knowing him..... how he made you feel.

Many times when someone passes and we are have stronger reactions to losing them ( either in passing or just no longer in our life ).....we are mourning who we were with this person.

A person who gave us confidence showed us our strengths and made us feel stronger ... and confident.  we fear losing that self confidence that support etc.

Your feelings are completely valid. You had a connection with this person and now they have passed. I’m sorry for your loss and I hope he rests in peace.

@hughjanus1738 if he touched your heart, then that's that - there's no too much about it.. i hope you find solace in the good memories. May his soul rest in peace

@hughjanus1738

Your feelings are absolutely valid. Grief doesn’t have a time limit or a rulebook, and it doesn’t matter how long you knew him or how things ended. The connection you shared was real, and it clearly meant a lot to you.

Missing someone who made you feel seen and loved is completely natural, especially when things ended so suddenly and you didn’t get a chance to reconnect. It’s okay to feel sad, to cry, and to look back at those memories. That just shows how much he touched your life.

You’re not “doing too much.” You’re just feeling what you need to feel. Be gentle with yourself and take your time. If you ever want to talk more about him or how you’re feeling, I’m here to listen.

Hi there,

Reading your message I felt this for sure: you are absolutely valid for feeling deep Grief and all that comes up with it..

I know it might look like a non-serious relationship because of the society's rigid standard of measuring heart by hours and minutes.. but well that's not how it feels to anyone ever. A moment with someone might be more impactful than years with others.. and it's completely valid to feel the loss even if there was no "label" to the relationship yet.

I can't even imagine the strength it takes to face this kind of situation and still be able to show up for your feelings. I am absolutely deeply sure that you can (should) consider this as your sign of the importance of this relationship and also of as a reminder of your own courage.

It is easy to ask you to not let this take up space in your mind.. but i know that's not possible or so easy... neither does it need to be. Please take your time with this.. and don't rush yourself.

Your mind and body need time to understand and gain back a sense of stability after an event so impactful. I see your courage and hope this message might give you a little bit of lightness.

Please write to anyone you feel might be able to hold space for you. You absolutely deserve it.

Thanks for showing up for yourself. We all see it ❤️

@hughjanus1738 youre not doing too much at all. your feelings are completely valid. it doesn’t matter how long you talked, what really matters is how he made you feel, and the connection you shared. it sounds like he left a really warm mark on your heart. the thing is that grief isnt ever about time, its about meaning. it is okay to miss him, to cry, to feel confused or overwhelmed. and its also okay to carry those memories with love, even as you keep going. im really sorry you lost someone who made you feel seen like that and i wish you all the best!! sending love.
