Am I the Only One Who...?

User Profile: Eman144

Hey everyone 💚

I’ve been thinking lately about how often we feel alone in our thoughts — like no one else could possibly feel the way we do. I wanted to create a space where we can break that silence.

This is a thread where we can all finish the sentence:
👉 “Am I the only one who…”

Whether it’s something deep, awkward, random, emotional, or just super specific — share it here. Chances are, someone else will relate.

A few examples:

  • Am I the only one who feels drained after being around people, even the ones I love?

  • Am I the only one who finds it hard to celebrate my own achievements?

  • Am I the only one who overthinks literally everything?

You’re not weird. You’re not broken. You're human. 🫶

Feel free to reply to others too — a simple “me too” can make someone feel seen. 💬

Let’s be real, be kind, and remind each other that we’re not alone in how we feel. I’ll go first in the comments ⬇️

With care,
[Eman144] 🌿

Am I the only one who doesnt understand oneselfs right and wrong?

Am I the only one who didn't realise I was mentally abusing my partner?

Am I a really bad person? Is that why I'm lonely?

I wish morality was set in stone. Alas, we must find our way. I have to figure out what's right or wrong daily.

I feel bad my best friend witnessed me break down. It very much feels like I mentally abused him.

Bad people don't question things like this. You're clearly trying your best. Have hope my friend :) I see good in you.

@cyanessence please trust me when I say that you didn't mentally abuse your friend. Your breakdown was something you experienced and came through and was ultimately out of your control. It would be handy if morality were set in stone but equally nothing in life is just black and white, it's only when we have experienced real problems do we see the grey 💜🥰

@Amanda84

These words are deeply comforting. I haven't quite resolved my breakdown... it was drawn out, intense, confusing, and robbed me of my agency. It hurt to see. But I will learn not to blame myself. My friend certainly never did, so why should I?

I like your idea of seeing the grey. I still suffer from black and white thinking, but I feel it's gotten a lot better.

You are really quite wise! Just seem to know exactly what to say.

@cyanessence when people don't experience pain or trauma or don't walk in other people's shoes, they think each situation has one answer or another but when you are in it yourself, you see things are never that simple 🥰

ou're not the only one. So many of us struggle with understanding what's right or wrong—especially when we’re hurting, confused, or repeating patterns we didn’t even realize we had. The fact that you're asking these questions shows self-awareness, not cruelty. It shows that you care enough to reflect and want to be better.

Realizing that you may have hurt someone you loved, even unintentionally, is painful—but it doesn’t make you a bad person. It makes you a human being who is learning. Abuse—especially emotional or mental—can come from unhealed pain, fear, or a lack of awareness. What matters now is what you do with that realization.

Loneliness doesn’t mean you deserve to be alone. It often follows guilt or self-judgment. But growth, accountability, and healing are possible. And connection is still possible, too—especially when it comes from a place of honesty and change.

You’re not beyond redemption. You're not alone. And you’re not unworthy of love just because you’ve made mistakes.

Am I the only one who can’t seem to get out of bed anymore. I just want to sleep until it all goes away.

@discreetTalker6281 You are not alone in this, it can be easier to pull the covers over our heads for certain, but makes it harder in the long run, what works for me, is breaking it into smaller manageable chunks, getting up even one hour earlier than planned, even if i dont do much, but being proud, I got up and I tried 🥰

@discreetTalker6281

o, you’re not the only one. I’ve felt that too—the heaviness, the exhaustion, the wish to just sleep and not have to deal with any of it. Sometimes everything feels so overwhelming that staying in bed feels like the only place where it’s quiet, where you don’t have to pretend to be okay.

But I want you to know this: even though it feels like this now, it doesn’t mean it will always feel this way. You’re not weak for feeling tired. You’re not broken. You’re someone who’s carrying a lot right now, maybe more than anyone even realizes.

If all you can do today is breathe, that’s enough. If all you can do is stay here and read this, that’s enough too. And when you’re ready—just one small step at a time—you will find your way back to yourself. You're not alone in this.

Am I the only who feels like self-care is sometimes self-work!?

ofc its important to take care of yourself physically and on social media they make things like washing your face,shaving,or their routine and things like that seem so soothing and appealing. Their videos makes me want to do those things but when I do those things it feels like I'm washing the dishes lol, something I don't want to do and just want to get done. Its not something that I enjoy. Am I the only that needs extra motivation and energy to do those things?

I'm right there with you. I know logically what's good for me but have trouble with consistency. It feels like such an effort sometimes, but I need to commit to building these habits. Once the habit is set it should become easier. Or so I hear.

User Profile: Eman144

@MimiplusTherapy

You’re definitely not the only one! Self-care can feel like self-work sometimes, especially when it’s not coming from a place of joy but more like a chore or another task on the to-do list. Those perfectly curated routines on social media make it look so calming and easy, but in reality, it can feel exhausting or just “something I have to get through.”

It’s totally normal to need extra motivation or energy to do these things, and it doesn’t mean you’re doing it wrong or that you don’t care about yourself. Sometimes self-care looks like pushing through the stuff we don’t enjoy because we know it helps in the long run—even if it’s not always soothing in the moment.

You’re not alone in feeling this way. Maybe one day you’ll find the little moments in those routines that do feel good, but if not, that’s okay too. Self-care doesn’t have to look perfect—it just has to work for you.

@Eman144 Am i the only one,
1. who notice others too much?
2. who overthink, about every word he spoken and thought it should be like this not that as i said?
3. who take it very serious of how others treat/thought about him?
4. who stay very conscious of how to initiate or just say hi/bye/Assalamualikum to his neighboring person working on the same chair in the same room just beside him(should i say hi, is this the right time, what if i bothered them, what if they didn't liked it, what if they not responded well, what if i said first, and i lost my worth in front of them blah blah blah)?

5. AM I THE ONLY ONE, who also laugh in himself for his *** thoughts/overthinkings?  XD

You’re definitely not the only one! I do all of that too—notice every little thing about people, replay every word I said, and obsess over how they might be thinking of me. Sometimes it feels like my brain is on overdrive with all those “what ifs.” And yeah, the constant “should I say hi or not?” anxiety? Totally relatable.

Also, laughing at myself for overthinking is like my daily cardio. XD It’s exhausting but also kind of funny how our brains work sometimes.

Honestly, I think a lot of us do this more than we admit. You’re not alone in the overthinking club!

Am I the only one who can only recall a day or 2 of feeling completely okay and happy with myself and my life? I eat cannabis occasionally and try to not let it define or modify my emotions, on tougher days I consume more. I also suspect I have PMDD and before my periods, during and after, I just don't like who I am - despite knowing that there are people who love me and whom I love. I feel like I can't recognise myself, and its hard to embrace and love myself or my life on such days

@placidNest2500

I feel you. Although I recovered from depression, I feel I just hit a different kind of extreme. There's been very few moments where I've thought: "I feel normal, I feel good."

Not sure I have much advice right now, kind of mentally exhausted. Just wanted to let you know I get that feeling.

User Profile: Eman144
Eman144 OP May 30th, 2025

@placidNest2500

You’re definitely not the only one. It’s really tough when those days of feeling truly okay or happy feel so rare. Dealing with mood shifts—whether from things like PMDD or just life’s ups and downs—can make it hard to feel like yourself or to accept yourself fully in those moments.

Using cannabis as a way to cope makes a lot of sense, especially when it feels like a tool to manage the tougher days. Just remember, it’s okay to have those low moments and still know that the love around you is real—even if it’s hard to feel it all the time.

You’re not alone in feeling disconnected from yourself sometimes. Be gentle with yourself during those periods. It’s okay not to have all the answers or to feel like you’re struggling with your identity. Healing and self-acceptance often happen in small steps.

If you ever want to talk more or share how you cope, I’m here.

@Eman144 This thread is awesome.                                                                                                     I'm always questioning myself, 'am I the only one who keeps having repetitive thoughts about something I don’t want to think about?' No matter how hard I try, it keeps coming back and it’s driving me crazy.

@SortingThroughIt

This thread really is something else—I feel you so much! Repetitive thoughts that just won’t quit are the worst. It’s like trying to close a door but the same thought keeps slipping back in. No matter how hard we try, the mind has its own stubborn way of sticking to what it doesn’t want to.

You’re definitely not alone in this. I think a lot of us deal with that kind of mental loop, and it can seriously drive you up the wall. Sometimes it helps just to acknowledge the thought without fighting it, even though that sounds easier said than done.

Thanks for sharing—it feels good to know we’re not the only ones stuck in these cycles

@linda19152

You’re definitely not the only one. That feeling of running out of time hits a lot of us at some point. It’s scary and overwhelming, like there’s this pressure to figure everything out right now before the clock runs out. But sometimes it helps to remember that life isn’t a race—it’s okay to take things one step at a time, even if it feels like time is slipping away.

You’re not alone in feeling this way, and it’s okay to share that fear. We’re all figuring it out as we go.

Am I the only one who is indecisive about everything, to the point that I just don't decide? Like if I'm eating lunch, I can't decide, so I don't eat. Or at a clothing store, I can't decide, so I don't buy anything.

All the time. Just overwhelmed by choice.

User Profile: Eman144
Eman144 OP May 30th, 2025

@sunnywaters6321

You’re definitely not the only one! Indecisiveness can be so overwhelming that it feels easier to just not decide at all—even about small things like lunch or what to wear. It’s like your brain gets stuck in this loop of weighing options and possible outcomes, and then nothing feels “right” enough to commit to.

It’s frustrating, but you’re not alone in this. Sometimes breaking decisions into tiny steps or giving yourself permission to be “wrong” for a bit helps. Remember, not deciding is still a choice—and it’s okay to take your time.

@Eman144 great idea! Here's a few of mine...

Am I the only one who thinks my mom knowing is the worst thing in the world?

Am i the only one who wants to tell people, and wants to keep it all inside?

Am i the only one who lies constantly-as a default?

Am i the only one who can't remember a time when things were better?

@DarkAsNight33

Wow, these really hit deep. You’re definitely not the only one feeling all of this. The fear of someone close like your mom knowing, the push and pull between wanting to open up and wanting to keep everything inside—that’s such a tough place to be.

And lying as a default? I think a lot of us do that sometimes, maybe as a way to protect ourselves or just to get through the day. Not remembering a time when things were better is heartbreaking, but it also shows how strong you are for even facing these questions.

You’re not alone in this struggle. Sometimes just naming these feelings is a powerful first step. Thanks for sharing—it takes courage.
