I suffering from this.
Hmm… I want to share the main problem I’ve been suffering from. Two or three years ago, I started writing books on an online platform. I did it for fun and was really happy with it. But one day, everything was ruined. I found a book that was very similar to mine, so I told my close friend about it. She gathered two or three others and went to talk to the person we suspected of copying my book—I’ll call her C from now on.
C swore she didn’t copy and claimed it was her own idea. However, she admitted that she had read my book before. So, I thought that if she had read mine, she should have known that writing something similar would be considered copying. But she didn’t seem to care and wrote it anyway. When we politely questioned her, she started crying, saying she couldn’t focus on her studies anymore because of this. She cried while telling us she had an exam the next day, and so on. After all that, I forgave her and even apologized on my message board, telling her to continue writing.
But even after that, she started bad-mouthing us in the description of another book. Later, I found out that she had shared this incident on another platform where she had more followers than me. She kept telling people that we had scolded her using N-words, but as far as I know, neither my friend nor I ever did anything like that.
A few days later, she left a secret message asking me to help promote her book to my readers. I didn’t do it because I felt like—why should I, after everything she had done? So, I ignored the message and moved on. After a few more days, I received another secret message:
*"Do you know how ugly your stories are? No matter how much you write, we don’t even want to see them."*
It was really heartbreaking for me. I didn’t know who sent it, but I felt like it was her. After that, I started receiving continuous hate messages. One of them said,
*"That artist’s fans are toxic."*
She was referring to an artist I deeply respected and stanned. To her, he seemed overrated, and she believed I shouldn’t be a fan of him. I really loved him, so hearing that made me feel bad. Another message said,
*"That story doesn’t have any emotions."*
I went through all of that and kept writing without stopping—until the worst day came.
It happened a year after the copying incident. Someone came to my book and kept leaving hateful comments. I ignored them at first, but then one message really hit me:
*"This story is so dumb. It’s really, really ugly. Why doesn’t that character understand he cheated on her? This is the first story of yours I started reading, but I got bored from the very first one. Don’t write these dumb stories."*
It hurt me so much that I stopped writing. I couldn’t bear it anymore. Now, my biggest problem is that I still feel afraid to write again. I keep thinking—what if they hurt me again? I keep remembering everything, and sometimes I end up crying because of it.
I hope I can get better soon.

@courageousDrum8544 wow! That's terrible 🙁 how people can be so mean, I'm sorry sweetie 🙁 a wide friend just told me "people suck" and yes it's very very true🙁 please don't give up on writting , I'm almost certain that people who hate on others like this are extremely jealous of you. Gives you a giant tiny hug ❤ sign and date every story you write ❤
@Tinywhisper11 Thank you so much for your words! 🥺 I really ignore all those hates and continued until the last incident. I feel myself can't with this anymore. After months, it keeps hurting me. Then I came here because I through I want some therapy to overcome this.
@courageousDrum8544 I'm so glad you came here ❤❤ this site is like no other🙂 you are safe here ❤ people here share their writting, poems, art and crafts all sorts of things here, knowing they are safe to do so, with only encouragement and praise from others ❤I really really hope that soon you will feel safe to share your creative writings here ❤❤ hugs you tightly ❤
Write a story about your experience ... how would your character beat the hate mails and bullying.. how would they find their solace and rise again. Giving power to your character may empower you
I'm so sorry about that! Gosh I know how you feel. I'm a writer and I know how exactly I'd feel if someone did that to me. Your feelings are valid, okay? Someday you'll be able to heal and move on from everything and get your pen back up. A suggestion I'd give is, write about what you're currently feeling. It'll help you heal and feel better. I hope you start feeling better soon to write. You got this. Get that writer's block outta the way!!
I honestly get this so so much. I’m a writer too and there was a time I got a D on a writing for a class and it crushed me. I was so so broken. Don’t let this get to you though, I know it’s hard but you got this! And I’m not saying you have to but I have this writing app called daily prompt and it is kinda like you said people can comment and stuff but no one has ever said mean things. It’s a great community and if you ever wanted a change, or someone to read your stuff (me!!) then you should join. It’s free and I think you’d like it! Just a thought though you totally don’t have to. Anyways you got this!! I know it!!😊
Hi there my friend.
Let people say what they want. Don't stop writing. Its something that is coming from within you. Don't stop it.
It's sad that how it has been going on with you. But remember, the gold shines more brighter ...the more it is sparked in fire.
I would recommend you to not get into a competition of telling about them or arguing with them in public. You can tell about this and how you feel, indirectly ...by not mentioning their name (if you want).
As for hate comments, do not get discouraged. Those comments don't define you. Many successful people failed initially and were ridiculed in the beginning. Galileo, Wright Brothers, Graham Bell, etc... Therefore don't lose hope.
I know you can do it. I might just be a random person. But still, please don't lose your heart. Keep writing and creating. Its something that comes from your heart... therefore you must continue doing it.
