The situation of not being able to express how you feel program day 3
📅 Day 3: The Emotion Wheel (Expanding Your Vocabulary)
Welcome to Day 3. Now that we know our bodies are sending us signals, we need to talk about the language we use to decode them.
When people ask how we are, most of us default to a few basic words: "Good," "Bad," "Fine," or "Stressed." But these words are like looking at a beautiful painting through a foggy window. They don't give us the real picture.
To overcome the silence, we have to expand our emotional vocabulary. There is a famous psychological tool called the Emotion Wheel. It starts with basic emotions in the center (like Angry, Sad, Scared, Joyful) and branches out into specific words. For example:
• Underneath Anger, you might actually be feeling frustrated, distant, or let down.
• Underneath Sadness, you might actually be feeling lonely, disappointed, or guilty.
When you find the exact word, something magical happens: the chaos in your brain starts to settle down.
🔍 Deep Dive Explanation
Why is specificity so important? Because the brain handles specific problems much better than vague ones. If you just feel "bad," your brain doesn't know how to fix it. But if you can pinpoint that you feel "dismissed," you suddenly understand exactly what triggered the feeling and what you need to do next.
❓ Reflection Questions for the Comments
• Look at how you are feeling right this second. Avoid the words "good," "bad," "sad," or "mad." What are two specific words that describe your mood? (e.g., exhausted, peaceful, misunderstood, hopeful)
For whoever missed day 2:
Day 4 launches tomorrow! Thank you all for your support. Take care and be safe✨️💚
I am feeling peaceful and hopeful. Such great feelings to have at this moment, and I am so grateful to feel them despite not being perfect or everything going as planned. 😌
Exhausted and irritable
@mytwistedsoul
I m so sorry you feel this way. I know things will get better. Sending courage to you💚
@cheerfulKiwi1776 Well, the mood right this second is irritated, feeling treated unfairly, unrecognized, and aggrieved. Hope there is a place where my effort and struggle can be seen, and someone who will truly trust and believe in me. I believe there must be a place.
