What does "community" mean to you?

The word "community" (easily one of our most-used words here!) embodies so many different things. It can be people who live in the same area or on a virtual platform, share common interests (hobbies/fandoms), identities (LGBTQ+, etc.), religion/belief system, values, support groups, activist groups or our incredible network of listeners and helpers here on 7 Cups.
I'd love to see how we individually perceive the concept of community, and where our similarities lie! Feel free to answer any the speak to you:
1. What does "community" mean to you?
2. Thinking specifically about 7 Cups, what aspects of this community resonate most with you, and how has being a part of it impacted your sense of connection or well-being?
3. How do you feel we can benefit from community in today's world?
4. What can we do on an individual level within our communities, or by connecting different communities, to build a kinder, stronger world?

Lovely discussion! 💖
1. What does "community" mean to you?
Where both *(yo)U* and I are part of! :P
Community in the simplest way possible, is a sense of belonging and familiarity for me!
2. Thinking specifically about 7 Cups, what aspects of this community resonate most with you, and how has being a part of it impacted your sense of connection or well-being?
Even when I was new here (lol and 5 years already now?!!) the one thing that really stood out for me were "tags" in the forumland, specifically the threads meant for sharing "goodbyes" with listeners/ members taking a break or leaving 7 cups~ it stood out the most because 5 years back, it was almost unbelievable for me to even think someone (practically well, "strangers") would care to know about my where or how-abouts and then seeing all those tags and so much care from people for others used to make me feel in so much awe of how possible it is to connect with people across the globe that you likely won't even meet in person ever~ yettttt, these are the ones who think of you when you are on a break or are away; and these are the people you think of when you are stepping away (for any xyz reasons)~ it's a whole mix of genuine care, kindness, long lasting impact of someone you became fond of, admiration and literally every possible wholesome emotion there exists but this mixbag, *this* aspect of 7 cups community is what I looovee and value the most and also resonate with the most, and something that has always impacted me positively here!
3. How do you feel we can benefit from community in today's world?
Sooo many ways really specially in today's times when people are all busy in their own stuff, dealing with a multitude of nuances in their life, becoming more open to accept and talk about their mental health~ it can be such an alienating experience, the increasing loneliness~ having a community and your support system to support you, cheer for you and most importantly, to see you~ is super super necessary!
4. What can we do on an individual level within our communities, or by connecting different communities, to build a kinder, stronger world?
Be more kind, be gentle, destigmatize and also if possible help spread awareness and invite open dialog for breaking any barriers to a whole-community where each one feels more empowered to be as authentically themself as possible, while also knowing that they are accepted and valued at all times!
Lead by example really! People can talk about everything and be preachy about things that (should) matter but what really matters is to embody your mindset, practice what you preach and be proactive in the process of bringing your idea for a better world to reality~ each drop still counts, yes! When more individuals come together to meet any common goals or share ideas~ there~ they've formed a community! 🥰
How about you H?

1. What does "community" mean to you?
It’s where people show up for each other with kindness and understanding.
2. Thinking specifically about 7 Cups, what aspects of this community resonate most with you, and how has being a part of it impacted your sense of connection or well-being?
Being part of 7 Cups has made me more mindful, more compassionate and reminded me how powerful simple listening can be.
3. How do you feel we can benefit from community in today's world?
Community gives us a soft place to land in a very loud world. There’s something deeply healing about knowing there are people whether near or far who genuinely care.
4. What can we do on an individual level within our communities, or by connecting different communities, to build a kinder, stronger world?
I think it starts with presence. Really showing up for others in small yet meaningful ways. And when we share resources, stories and solidarity, we start building something so much bigger than ourselves.

1. What does "community" mean to you?
To talk to people, to trust, a place where they are like family and friends, and a place where they are comfortable. Have similar interests and goals. I feel wonderful to have people like 7 Cups that care, listen, understand, and are compassionate. I feel welcome and like I belong. I feel like I have grown since I have been here.
2. Thinking specifically about 7 Cups, what aspects of this community resonate most with you, and how has being a part of it impacted your sense of connection or well-being?
How important it is and how members are understanding and caring. You can't take care of others if you can't take care of yourself first. Your mental health is also important. Be more professional, prevent burnout, and use breathing techniques and meditation. Ways to cope with mental health in yourself and others. It also helps you as a person. It is easy for us to open up and for members to open up to people and be able to connect with them.
3. How do you feel we can benefit from community in today's world?
I feel that the community in the outside world is iffy because of everything happening, and on 7 Cups there are loving, caring, and passionate people. They also have a point, which is to help people and show the importance of mental health. The world is about killing, violence, and all about themselves before others.
4. What can we do on an individual level within our communities, or by connecting different communities, to build a kinder, stronger world?
Stop being racist, violent, one-sided, dishonest, and hateful. People should be honest, caring, truthful, and compassionate, helping others out and taking personal care. Connecting people with good people and helpful services. Reach out to others.
@Heather225
To me, community means people coming together despite their differences to lift up and support one another. On 7 Cups, I feel most connected to people who feel lost in dark and are just trying to find their way home. It makes me feel less alone knowing that I'm not the only one wondering through the dark.
In today's world, we can benefit from community by taking oaths to not inflict our personal beliefs on others.
On a personal level, we could all try to set our thoughts and feelings aside to focus on the mission. Preserving life. Protecting this planet. It's what we were made for. At least... that's what I believe.

@Heather225
1. Bringing people together, from all different areas of the world, from different backrounds and givening them on place to come togther, be to togther. At 7 cups we are many but also one, whole when we come together
2. Being able to talk to others openly and to be able to find common ground together. Connecting with people knowing that we are all here to grow in both our mental wellbeing and our understanding.
3. Being able to spend time with each other and learning to accept eachother as individuals. Learning to love eachother for both our different and our common ground and spending time hearing eachother, not just talking at eachother.
4. Through connecting with people we have a chance to learn and adapt, to learn new things and learning to accept everyone. For me I take this approach into the real world both in my work life and personal life and spend time listening to people, without offering advice, just spending the time to really hear them.
Togetherness. We are all in this life thing together. It feels good to be a part of something positive..
@Heather225 place to find relief
