real question

I really feel at the end of the day it does come down to whether or not we like ourselves 🥲 our opinion on self and how we really perceive ourselves!!

the outside chatter becomes a distracting noise when we pay attention to it and let it disrupt our inner peace …. what people may think or say about us… constantly monitoring how we act, what we do or say etc … seeking outside validation if people like or not, how to impress them, what to do to make them talk to us … so many concerns about us leading to moments of self doubt and self questioning our worth …

on the other hand people who like themselves … love themselves even… typically do not care about what others think about them and are content in their own life…. not seeking outside validation or chasing some kind of attention or love from outside because they lack it within … it does seem they are confident in who they are, self accepting and have a firm sense of boundaries too

it’s a personal observation well…. there’s very few people who are always confident in the way they are and how they carry themselves … always inspiring too…

inviting your thoughts now …. what are your thoughts on how self acceptance impacts one’s confidence?

do you like yourself? do you think others opinions on you matters to you? by other not necessarily your family or those who may have a good interest for you… but people in general… does it matter if they like you or find you nice enough?

do you have any tips that may help one become more self accepting and confident as they are?

Unfortunately, the negative things about me are true, and unchangeable

Good question and perspective.

Confidence is recognize your strength and weak points openly.

I understand you perception of self-confidence people are perceive. For example, I'm one. Always people see me like an intelligent man, wise, attractive, etc, but you are generically seing "typically" when don't care about other people's think about us, is a oversimplification let me show you way. For me, I care about more what people I like, admire, love then random people. Is not like we don't need validation, every human need that, we crave for that in different ways, some are subtle, other is more evidence. But we all need that, we cant live without that. I crave for being understanding, loved, I love people perceive me like they perceive me, but at the end that doesn't mean I'm not insecure in some ways about douse things. Just because we look and give the impression that way doesn't mean it's true.

That's my perspective, i love the question, really. Thx for sharing

I forgot to answer your question about how to become more self-confident.I forgot to answer your question about how to become more self-confident.

In the past I was extremely insecure about myself. What change?. I work in what I was insecure. Physically, I was obese, then, now I'm fit, being healthy, etc. I was a useless person doing nothing, now I'm studying chemical engineering with good grades. Work in what actually see a problem is a simple way of work on your confidence.

But we know that, the question is, what we actually need to do?. My answer is, be honest with you and others. This is very important because being honest, is difficult, yes, but I dont scape from my problems when i see them. If i have to change some behaviors or perspectives I do it, and if I'm wrong im accept thst openly to other people, accepting your mistakes is perceived as someone with confidence. Try to live in good ways, live in the side of the true and common sense, question your self, what you believe, what you see, seek opinions, change, don't be a static mind, be and accept the uncomfortable that's going to bring your confidence because some day, with little effort, just thinking about how good actually you are in some things you do in life, or the opposite, that rewire your brain.

Comforness kills the progress. Be humble with your self and suddenly your going to find how actually confident you are. Wish you the best, I hope my simple words help you in some sense. Bye!.

@Optimisticempath I think it's possible to have a good confidence without validation. Some people have it easier than others. It's something we should all work upon because life may not always be kind to us.

That being said, it's just so much nicer when people are generous in giving each other validation, recognising how we empower each other through simple acts, and how gestures of goodwill and kindness are a need of a healthy society.... and it's almost our duty and right to have that exchange of love with our fellow beings. I think once people realise how hollow life is when it's devoid of the spirit of nurturing each other, they kind of move in the direction. For some it happens through hardship, others are innately more evolved.

I've heard some motivational speakers emphasising confidence through self acceptance. I agree and see where they're coming from. I think in todays times this is a crucial need. But - like i said , I also believe strongly in showing acceptance to each other, and building confidence collectively. Independent results maybe possible but collective pursuits are more meaningful and fun.

Am I making sense ?

@Optimisticempath

I may add

I remember a friend saying to me once - we may not know how to love ourselves- we learn self love through receiving love from others.

In other words like we learn skills ... love too is learnt ... through exchange... I'd say that about faith even...

I guess what im thinking is.... We can take complete responsibility for our emotional well being if need arises ... but - should we have to ? What if we shared each other's burdens a little... what if we were meant to do that ..

@Optimisticempath

I believe self-acceptance is what allowed my confidence to finally start growing.

I recognised that people who have self-love seem happy and confident. So I began the journey of learning to love myself.

Each expression is an opportunity for reflection, a hidden question asking: is this who you want to be? Through questioning, one forms the self, for it is simply clay if left unnoticed.

I want to form my clay into something beautiful, mostly so I can be proud of myself, but also so others can appreciate me too.

Self-love really is a battle, and it starts with acceptance. You are who you are, there is no shame in that. Reasons led you here. The next step is practising being that self so you can see how it sits with you. Over time, you will learn who you want to be, and self-love naturally follows once you are comfortable with yourself.
