The Power of Chosen Family

When we talk about love and connection, we can’t forget one of the most powerful pillars of our well-being: Found Family.
Sometimes, the family we choose becomes the true backbone of our mental health journey. They are the friends who sit with us in the hard times, celebrate our little victories, and understand us without needing a single word. They remind us that we never have to walk alone.
Tell us about someone who is your chosen family in your life.
If it is a fellow Cups user, tag them here!
"A chosen family is a masterpiece. It is built piece by piece, not by chance or by proximity, but by heart."
February's theme is The Heart of Connection. Please give love to the other events in this masterpost:

My family is so large that I just add friends to it. Such as it is, I love my family no matter what.
I was having a conversation about this just the other day with someone I would consider to be part of my own chosen family. They are someone I love and cherish, and who I know stands by me (sometimes to my amazement) no matter what. They have shown this over and over and over again. I hope that they would say the same. No. I know that they would. That is the power of family. To me, that's what family is - people you love for exactly who they are, including the things you might not like sometimes. They are people you'd defend and stand by no matter what; the ones you'd stay up all night with if they suddenly needed you. They are the people you dream their dreams with, simply because those dreams are meaningful for them and part of who they are. They're the people you know you could share anything with, and do. They're the people you don't question. They're the people whose moods you can recognize simply in a "hello."
I am fortunate enough to have traditional family who I know loves and supports me. I love and support them too, without pause. I know that many don't have this. But I think sometimes the power of chosen family is greater. You have to grow it yourself, from the tiniest seed. It doesn't just come with the territory of luck or fortune.
I love my "person" and know that the kind of love I have for them is powerful enough to stay.
