The Power of Chosen Family

When we talk about love and connection, we can’t forget one of the most powerful pillars of our well-being: Found Family.
Sometimes, the family we choose becomes the true backbone of our mental health journey. They are the friends who sit with us in the hard times, celebrate our little victories, and understand us without needing a single word. They remind us that we never have to walk alone.
Tell us about someone who is your chosen family in your life.
If it is a fellow Cups user, tag them here!
"A chosen family is a masterpiece. It is built piece by piece, not by chance or by proximity, but by heart."
February's theme is The Heart of Connection. Please give love to the other events in this masterpost:

@QuietByNature
I appreciate his kindness.
His patience.
His humour.
He knows how to brighten my day and lift my spirits.
But he's respectful.
Non invasive.
And one of the best people I've met here 🩷🤗

@QuietByNature
Too many people here that fall into this category. Unfortunately my mental decline keeps me from remembering names, (among other things). But there is one that I am aware of that I used to exchange many messages with and I, along with so many others here miss so much.
@Tinywhisper11
Hopefully I wrote that correctly, but if I didn't, I believe a lot of people will know who it is.
@Amanda84 Since I've joined cups, she's been the most welcoming, loving and thoughtful person, 🥰 The kindness she sprinkles to others always has me in awe and I feel very grateful to know someone like Amanda. I love, respect and cherish her presence a lot 💝🤗
@fossilfellow
Ah friend, thank you so much, coming from you, this means the absolute world 🩷🤗

I always thought the family we have in real life are the chosen ones. The family that will stand by you, be there for you, support you and unconditionally love you. I grew older and that family love got assessed, analyzed and judged. Life took me places to search for my chosen family, the family I chose at heart. My love for my family never stopped but it wasn’t the chosen one. My guilt drove me away to believing that the support and love given is not necessarily taken back. I was crazy to think why would they want to do that?! Its all on me. I have to fix it all. I did the damage so its all on me. The family chose to see me suffer assuming it made me satisfied. A state of denial that made me just move on. Then I started talking to people and opened up, meeting those who do support with empathy, kind words and the smallest gesture.
I don’t have yet that chosen family (or user ID to name) but those who offered kindness and love remained to give without having the slightest doubt of who you might me.
Thank you all for being there for those who needed to feel loved, cared for, supported and appreciated. I know you mean alot to many here. Your presence is often seen, felt and touched.
I mean 🤨 She's something, I guess 🙂↕️
We banter a lot. Kind of like siblings do.
Sometimes we get along and, no. We banter, but it's
banter of kindness and uhh.. well.
She's my favorite Italian Mod! That counts right?
*sigh* Siblings. Right?
✨💙✨
@Heather225
I have had many in real life as well as supportive ppl here.
in real life I have a best friend from many years she has always been a supportive person in ways my real blood never has. My bestie was included in my son's wedding photos as family.
always referred to as aunt by my children.

i could go on and on but ill just shush now xD
@unassumingEyes Awww, now I feel warm & cozy... Of all the times I thought about my future, it never once occurred that I'd have a "chosen niece". (And one over halfway around the world, on top of that!...)
So you're getting enough to eat these days. Right? 🧐
@slowdecline48
Yes, sir 🙃 Dad's here, so its easier again
Thx eyes fr n same iv claimed u as my cups siblings now 😂 lol
@DarkerPlaces
Good! xD
I would love to take this moment to correct the phrase "blood is thicker than water"
The actual prase is "blood of your comrade is thicker than the water of the womb"
Meaning that people willing to fight with you are more important than anything you were born into. And for some people, their family is their comrades, and for some it's not.
It's all about who is truly connected to you 🌞
Remember gang!
Do not set yourself in fire to keep others warm!
@Heather225
we call this " family of the heart" due to they ones who love us for who we be support us even when we down there for us even help us our best friend offline like that she even share cooked food with us at times we do same with her we find we help each other listen to each other truly care we pray for each other too
our birth family they abusive only show caring when around others so we not really connected with them we moved away from them but our family of the heart they do have some people online and some offline too
You guys. Duh. <3 <3 <3
