I learned that you have to stick with it. Stick with the therapy, stick with the meditation and journaling even if it feels like things are going well. Quitting these things will only set you back in the future .

I have been binge watching law and order svu. I love that show but it puts me back into a victim role. i am not saying to not watch it, but i now know that binge watching it every day is not healthy for me and it also keeps me from getting done, the things i need to do for the day. moderation, moderation, moderation. I will use an episode as a reward after I have accomplished a few things off my to do list instead of putting off my to do list and watching it all day.

@blissedNblessed - I think there can be a time for binge watching. And then there can be a time for getting things done and watching an episode as a reward. Both can be self care.

@GlenM

I can't always get rid of the negative memories of people saying ugly things but I can learn not to let those people control my life and emotions. Instead, I can learn to ignore them and put my peddle to the medal.

@GlenM

one moment at a time, then one hour, then one day. Taking it slowly and focusing on one thing at a time

What Ive learned? That if you look back at things youve hoped for or prayed for, and look at where you were, even if you currently feel horrible and see so much that is wrong, but you would see how in fact you did get far, and many things you had hoped for or prayed for actually already happened or were corrected! Without belittling the issues Im currently facing, by thinking of that fact can help give a little more hope and optimism.

Ive learnt youll take steps forward and its ok to take steps back as long as you keep going forward. It wont always be about having a good day, sometimes its about the strength you have making it through a bad day. I know that sounds silly because finding the strength to carry on can be considered a good day. But for me a good day is when I smile and my anxiety doesnt get the best of me.
