Guys: Ask Girls About Periods!

I've been thinking for a long time about making this post, and it's finally here! <3

Around the world, periods are thought of as bad, dirty, taboo, or unmentionable, even though theyre healthy and normal. Even here in America, girls try to hide their pads or tampons, and don't talk about menstruation, due to shame.

So, here's a safe, anonymous place for the guys to ask the girls questions about periods!

I know. You may live somewhere where talking about menstruation is taboo. HOWEVER... No one here knows who you are, or where you live (unless you choose to share). No one will judge you for asking questions, or never having been taught the answers, etc. If you feel really nervous, but still want to learn, just quietly lurk and read, without posting. You're safe and welcome here! <3

Ask us anything! Even if you feel silly asking. We'd love to share with you!

Ladies, please help by answering questions, and sharing? Thank you!

I've seen videos of guys who keep pads in their car glove boxes for the women in their lives (sisters, friends, etc). Trust me, gentlemen... If you do this for us, we will ABSOLUTELY appreciate and respect you so much! To go shopping, as a man, for menstrual products, and keep them accessible for his friends... Any man who does that earns a million points from us. Respect can be earned by such small things as this :)

Side note: If you do this, please get the thickest ones. Just IMO, just in case that's the only access the woman has to a pad for hours. It'll hold a TON more than a pantyliner, which is REALLY thin and holds much less, which will hold her over until she can change again.

@jesusredeemedme2425

I usually get thicker ones for my period, but I also have thinner ones that I use if I'm wearing tighter shorts or skirts.

I've always wondered this: What do girls do when they're wearing a thong? Just use a tampon?

When a girl is on her period, what should their partners do? I hear a lot of generic stuff, but it depends on the girl. Ask! <3

Honestly, just pamper them and help them out. Not because we're princesses or anything like that! It's because periods feel like we're constantly getting kicked in the uterus (lower abdomen area) for a week or more. It's PAINFUL. Give us tummy rubs, do things for us so we don't have to get up, or just watch movies and cuddle. Just being there and loving us is SUCH a sweet treasure! <3

Ladies, what are some symptoms of pre-period or during-period time, that you get? I get lower back pain. Everyone is different, though!

It's just a personal thing for me , it's natural, it's normal and it should be , but I prefer not to talk about it with any man in my life , for me it's not something I like to mention or discuss 💛

@jesusredeemedme2425

During period: nausia, cramps, lack of appetite

Before period: nothing really except stomach ache during the night before. Thankfully mine usually start in the morning!

I don't really get my period much anymore ever since getting the IUD in 2022. But I still get cramps every now and then, mostly around my ovaries, and sometimes it really takes me out of commission!

@Remina

How come you get cramps if you don't get your period?
