What are your tips for coping with the colder months? 💛
Hello everyone!
Please share all your little (or not-so-little) tricks for surviving autumn and winter! The cold, rain, humidity, gray skies, fewer colours in nature, lack of sunshine, shorter days, and the long nights. It all takes a big toll on me.
I already struggle with mental health issues year-round, and every year this season makes things even harder and more depressing for me. This time, I really want to be prepared and hope it affects me as little as possible
Thank you so much if you’re willing to share your tips in the comments on what helps you cope with the season, even the smallest ones might help someone ✨

Hello everyone! First of all, a big thank you for all your responses, they’re going to help me so much! Here’s what I’ve gathered so far to get ready for winter, inspired by all your shares:
– Soak up as much sunlight as possible, even through the window when it’s raining or too cold 🌞
– Keep your space filled with as much warm light as possible when it's dark ✨
– Exercise as much as possible 🏃♀️
– Socialize as much as possible, even just messages when going out isn’t possible 💛
– Dress warmly in layers and thick socks 🧦
— Add colours through your clothing and in your environment whenever possible. I’ll make paper garlands, for example
– Use a hot water bottle and blankets for warmth
– Listen to uplifting music 🎶
– Watch uplifting series, movies, or read books 📺 — avoid distressing content
– Play video games 🎮
– Drink tea, hot chocolate, or other warm drinks ☕
– Cook seasonal, warm and comforting meals 🍲
– Use support systems like 7 Cups and others when needed

Winter is far tougher than autumn I think. Im sure this doesn't work for everyone but the two things I hunker down into are:
1)A light box-I read a book many years ago called "The Opposite Of Music" about a family with a father, the center that kept them all bonded, suffering from severe depression, and doctors recommended to him to get a light box. While I dont see this as a lasting help, it does help somewhat in that we do need sunlight and the vitamins that come from it to get through winter.
2)Everything slows down and IN A WAY so should we-Im not saying to slow down into a monotonous sullen cube of humanity, but taking each day slowly and being present to the smallest things, like how a coffee mug feels in your hands, how the ground feels under you, things like that help you ebb and flow with the season better because you're going with its flow, which is slllllloooooowwww.
Well when I use to live in cold climate places, I would buy bright solar lights! I would paint the wall bright blue I would take vitamin D supplements daily, go out to eat once a week. I would only watch comedy theme movies and television shows from the late 70s up to the late 1990s! Wear light Color clothing. All those things helped
- I like to get out and run more in autumn and winer months
- Like to set up festive and decorative lightings a lot
- Like to read a more in autumn and winter months
- See more movies with family with a hot meal if possible
- Drink lots of hot tea
- Have hot soups
- Like to meditate longer
- Like to do breath works a lot more
I wish I knew how to help, but I honestly love the cold and like winter, winter is my favorite season. I just recommend either embracing coolness or putting on extra layers and copying up in nice warm soft blankets.

@whimsyLeaf7957 ur welcome that means a lot to me love ya toodles
@whimsyLeaf7957 I hear you. The darker months can be really tough. What helps me most is building small routines: warm lighting at home, daily walks even if it’s cold, and planning little things to look forward to each week. I also try to visit friends or cosy places more often, so I don’t end up isolating. Even tiny changes can make the season feel a bit lighter.
