Your Words, Their Light: Share Comfort for Hospital Cancer Patients
Hey friends, let me tell you about a little project I’m cooking up—and I really need your help to make it shine.
I’ve been scribbling notes. Little slips of paper, filled with whatever words might feel like a hug on a tough day. These aren’t grand speeches—just tiny, honest bits of encouragement. And they’re headed to hospital patients: specifically, those navigating the hard, messy, brave journey with cancer.
Here’s the thing: I wanted to start with mental health patients first, but I worried—what if a line lands wrong? What if good intentions get misread? So I’m starting here, with care, but who knows? Maybe down the line, with more of your wisdom, we can reach them too.
But today? I need your voice. What’s a phrase that’s pulled you through? A line from a song, a friend’s text, a thought that popped up when you felt stuck? Maybe it’s “You’re stronger than this storm” or “Small steps count” or even “I’m proud of you, even if we’ve never met.”
Drop those lines below. Every single one matters. Once we’ve got enough, I’ll bundle these slips up and donate them to the hospital—little sparks of “you’re not alone” for folks who need it most.
Let’s fill these pages with the kind of words that stick. The ones that say, “I see you. Keep going.”
Thank you for being part of this. 💛

You. Got this keep going and don't give up
@Bearainy
Wow, what a beautiful project you’re putting together! Those little slips of paper sound like they’ll carry so much warmth and hope to people who need it. I’m honored to toss in a few words that have carried me through tough days:
- “You are enough, just as you are.”
- “This moment is hard, but it’s not the end of your story.”
- “Keep breathing. You’ve made it through every tough day so far.”
I love how much care you’re putting into this, especially thinking about how words can land differently for different people. That kind of thoughtfulness will make these messages so powerful. I’m eager to see how this develops. Count me in for cheering you on! 💛
@Bearainy theres a quote i saw from tumblr:
- “But with every falling apart, there is a coming together.”
And:
- “robot friend does not agree. 'failure' is inability to fulfill directive. human has no programmed directive. human evolutionary directive is to live. you are alive. everything else is bonus.”
(thats a bit long, so if you want a shorter message just: “you are alive. everything else is bonus”)
- if for nothing else, keep going for the sake of everything you couldn’t do
and thank you, friend, for doing something so beautiful 🤍

This is such a amazing idea. Good luck
@Bearainy This is such a wonderful post :0 Im so glad u made this thread so here's my share... Usually a little 'you're enough.' or 'Everything's going to be ok, you just have to wait.' is really powerful, especially when im feeling really down.
Might be a bit unrelated (?) but here's a poem that somehow kept me holding on for so long (tw just in case) https://ibb.co/BVqQ38Rv
This too shall pass.
We are not our thoughts.
Everything God does is for our ultimate best.
@Bearainy this is such a kind and thoughtful project💕 I love that you’re being so mindful with this. It’s clear your heart is really in the right place and I’m honored to be part of this first step😇
Here are a few lines that have carried me through rough patches:
- This pain is real but so is your strength.
- You don’t have to do it all today. Just breathe.
- You’re not behind. You’re on your own timeline.
- Not every part of this has to make sense. It’s okay to just be.
Also, thank you for creating a space where words can carry light, even in small scraps of paper. It may seem small but I really believe this could mean everything to someone in the middle of their hardest chapter💞
You’re so sweet for making a project like that💗💗 and I don’t have a certain quote or sentence that pulls me through hard times but my coping mechanism is watching sad movies (not really coping cuz I watch sad movies all the time for entertainment but still really good for times I’m actually sad)
Very nice project...
My line:
"Your struggle counts. You're not insignificant. You are an embodiment of strength"
