Announcing our new 24/7 LGBTQ+ Huddle

Hi LGBTQ+ Community and Allies! I have some great news to share with you all about a new LGBTQ+ Huddle chat launching July 31 that will allow members of the community to have access to a safer and supportive space 24/7. Please note this Huddle is currently open to adult users only. Members and listeners are welcome.

A Huddle is a group chat where the same participants meet up regularly to chat about common issues/interests in order to learn more about and deeply explore them. Our Huddles take place inside the 7 Cups group chat system and aim to provide groups of users continuous support and social connection.

Ultimately the goal for our LGBTQ+ Huddle is to provide those looking to engage in a supportive LGBTQ+ focused chat space the opportunity to do so 24/7 with less concerns about unsupportive or hateful comments, attitudes and behavior. We hope this will enable closer connections and a closer community where people may feel safer opening up about their identity, experiences and/or concerns. A space where we can focus on living life as an LGBTQ+ person, not simply what the various labels are or mean.

 The LGBTQ+ Huddle room will be open 24/7 but only badged members will be able to see and access it. If you wish to be badged you can let one of the hosts know during any of the regularly scheduled discussions held in the LGBTQ+ Support room. (Currently hosted Wednesdays at 8:30pm ET, or Sundays at Noon ET, see the community calendar for details.) If you are unable to attend these sessions you can message @EmotionsListener to request access. Please indicate your desire to access the LGBTQ+ Huddle Support space in your message. Keep in mind the badging process may take up to a week.

Access to this LGBTQ+ Huddle space is a privilege and any misuse or inappropriate behavior in the huddle space may lead to loss of your badge and access. We want to keep our safe space one that is healthy for and respectful to all. This means there will be zero tolerance for derogatory language, the intentional misuse of pronouns, or other hateful behaviors. Additionally all users are expected to follow the general chatroom guidelines and the community guidelines.
