Giving Warnings
Verbal Warnings
Should a situation arise in the room where you will need to start using the system, please give a verbal warning to the room as a whole. This demonstrates that you're present and paying attention to the room.
E.g. "Let's all remember to be kind and supportive. You can check out the rules by clicking the link below the chat!"
A verbal warning should always be general. Never single anyone specific out in a verbal warning.

Direct Warnings via the Warning System
If a user breaks a rule, you should send them a warning, using the button. When you click the
button or delete a message, you will see a pop up with a drop down menu containing the following options:
Each warning has a number that matches the rule. For example, selecting #1 Unsupportive will send the user a warning for breaking rule #1 in the chat room rules. Its really important that you take care to select the correct rule, so please take time to review the new chat room rules at the bottom of the chat room.
When you send a warning, a pop up will appear on that persons screen with the following message. The pop up will read as follows, with the relevant rule inserted:
Users will only be able to receive one warning per thirty seconds.
This limit is in place to avoid situations where more than one moderator sends a warning for the same rule violation.
On the third warning received from any moderator, the user will be automatically muted. In that case they will receive the following message in a pop up:
After a user is muted, please continue to participate in the conversation and help to guide it in a positive way.
