Announcement: Cheers Benchmarking!!
Hello all!
As you might or might not know, cheers is one of the most common rewards that we give to our wonderful leaders. Leaders who stepped up to help us in certain ways. Mostly it is used for discussion hosting in the group support chat rooms.
Currently, it is awarded for hosting Sharing Circle Sessions, Listener Sharing Circle Sessions, and Pop-up Discussions. Cheers are certain points that you earn by participating in different things and taking steps.
For more information on cheers, you could check them here: Members I Listeners. It is a small token of thanks to showing our gratitude, recognize & appreciate the contributions.
But, it is noticed that there is an inconsistency between the cheers awarded for different session hosting. That’s why we discussed and decided to set a reasonable threshold for cheers as an incentive so we could achieve consistency across the board.
Additionally, teams who do not offer cheers seem to be negatively impacted by the current cheers system so it is important that the current cheers number is reduced so we give everyone a fair chance.
New Standards!
- If any discussion leader hosts a pop-up discussion for 30 minutes, they will receive 50 cheers per session.
- If any host hosts a support session, guided discussions of 60 minutes (an hour), they will receive 100 cheers per session.
This will be applicable for both member and listener chat rooms as well as for all discussion leaders. To earn these cheers, you would be required to fill the Host Log or inform the team leader.
We understand that this number is considerably lower than what we are currently used to. However, if you notice the cheers awarded in other tracks (a forum for example) you will see the cheers being given quite sparingly. Similarly, if you see this page for how automatic cheers are awarded you will notice that the updated cheers sound much more reasonable in comparison. It is important to have consistency across the board. With these updated numbers, the cheers being awarded in all tracks will be similar to one another.
Team Leaders!

It will be implemented with immediate effect. Any changes or new updates regarding it will be posted to keep the community informed.

@ASilentObserver
Thank you for this update. I think the updated numbers make much more sense and I am happy to see consistency across the board.
hello @ASilentObserver , how do I distribute them to my discussion leaders?
@vivelespatates
I think the general idea is 50 cheers for 30 mins of a session hosted
@DonaldDraper the post says " To earn these cheers, you would be required to fill the Host Log or inform the team leader. " so i guess they are not talking about the normal cheers when sending messages in a room but a bonus
@vivelespatates yes, these are bonus cheers. To encourage hosting 😊
@DonaldDraper so my initial question, how give them to those on my team? The post tell people to contact their leader. As a leader what do I do? How give them??
