Announcement: Trauma Chatroom Opening
Hello everyone, I hope you are all doing well.
I would like to share that we are opening a Trauma Support Chatroom as a rotational room on Sunday for both sides. It means the room will be open for 24 hours on Sunday and the rest of the week it will be a pop-up room that can be opened by the hosts to run support or guided sessions.
The Trauma Support Room will be used for
Support for traumatic experiences
Support for DID (Dissociative identity disorder). As we do not have a dedicated room on this topic yet, so the Trauma room will be used for now.
Points to remember
- Everyone will be allowed as long as they are supportive and behaving as per the chatroom guidelines. Please read about the guidelines here: https://tinyurl.com/yz7hvraj
- Sexual Abuse/Assault are covered under Traumatic experiences. Please use "SA" as a trigger warning ahead of the share and keep the share focused on your emotions rather than graphical information of the experience.
- Please ensure to follow guidelines related to traumatic experiences: https://tinyurl.com/28c3j8de
- The chatroom will operate under Zero Tolerance Policy: https://tinyurl.com/rth76e68
- If we do not find a room supportive, compassionate, respectful, the room will be closed immediately because if the room is not serving the purpose of supporting you, it wouldn’t be setting a healthy chatroom example.
Credits:
The credits to make it happen goes to all teens and adults who discussed, shared feedback, and being patient and supportive to me all this time. I appreciate and am grateful to you all. Let’s continue to keep our chat rooms safe and supportive space for all.
So exciting! Hope this supports many more surviviors!
I'm glad to see that trauma is now being addressed. Is it possible that a pop up can be dedicated to sexual abuse/assault? There is no other place on 7cups for this currently, and I know there are members that could use a safe place to talk about it.
@MunchieTaters
Hey there! Discussing SA is allowed on trauma support room as long as trigger warnings are provided and No in-depth graphical (triggering pics or excessive explanation of abuse) content is shared ❤️
@Listeningsarinn
I understand your message and understand that they are allowed to post in the Trauma room. Many who I have seen share in SC have received supportive comments, but are left feeling the same as they did going in....that no one understands them.
Thus the question of having a session for that topic alone. So they can have an hour to be able to express to others who have been through similar situations, people who know the pain they have been through. They may well be more comfortable with their peers expressing themselves and feeling validated in their pain, anger, or confusion.
As a survivor myself, I try to reach out to those I see in SC. The comment most all have is that it's great to be able to talk to someone who has been through it, that it's comforting knowing they don't have to explain their exact feeling because they know I've had the same, or similar feeling myself..
Because of these comments from members I talk to, I'll try to advocate as best I can to maybe have a safe hour they can chat with their peers. A chat that let's them know they are not alone in what they are feeling.
I'm not trying to upset anyone, and my response is not made out of malice of any kind. It's just a viewpoint that many don't understand if they've never been in those shoes. It's an incredibly difficult topic for both those who have, and those who have not, been through SA. If it can be done, great....if it can't be done, at least I know I tried.
🤗🤗💜💜💫💫
@MunchieTaters
i understand your point and i agree lots that the experience is hard to truly understand as an outsider and even when understood and vaidated, talking to a peer has the comfort of knowing it isn't only you and you ar enot alone in what you are going thru in daily basis!
i agree to marcelo on starting 1-2 hour open chats weekly for the purpose, while he can assist with hosting on the adult side i'll make sure to do the same on the teen side as soon as i get my schedule to work with it!
in the meantime, i would love to hear more ideas on what these open chats need to contain in your opinion to make them the most useful and safe place possible to talk and share on the topic❤️ Anything you think we as hosts, room supporters and mods should be kerping in mind, specially given that many of us are not peers??
@Listeningsarinn
I'll definitely put some thought into that in the next few days. I'm currently working with my pop to get my mom into home hospice, so I'm a bit frazzled getting things taken care of. When are you looking for the first session to be?
@MunchieTaters
Huge good luck sorting out things for your mom and yourself! There can be chaotic amount of work to take care of! No hurries
i could do with starting the sessions from next week for my self but will talk to other room supporters and mods to see if they can host as well❤️
P.s. for clarification only, discussions on SA and open chats dedicated to trauma support generally are already taking place regularly in trauma support room, what i'll be focusing on thanks to your feedback is openchats dedicated to SA specifically
Dear Munchie:
I am Room Supporter at Trauma.
Would it be enough for what you wish, if we do a weekly open chat for 1 to 2 hours on SA, hosted by Mods or RS from the Trauma Subcommunity ?
I look forward to your comments,
Thank you !
Marcelo.
@WelcomeToChat
Marcelo,
Honestly, I think even just an hour would be great to try and help some of them. If they choose not to show, then take the hour and convert it to something else. All I ask is a chance for them to come together and be able to talk with and support each other.
None of the women I've spoken with have reported, and men report even less than women do. It's a hard topic to discuss for anyone, but is made easier by talking with people who have gone through it.
Dear Munchie:
We could start experimenting next week, and adjust the activity as we learn from this experience.
When would be a good time for you to co-host the first one? As you have the idea very clear, it would be important that you are present in the first session.
I think it would be better for a woman to host it, but if I can't find any willing/able among Trauma Room Supporters, it would be an honor for me to do it .
I look forward to your comments.
Kind regards,
Marcelo.
@WelcomeToChat
I would be more than happy to cohost. I will be leaving town for two weeks beginning this Tuesday, so I may not be able to join the second session.
Let me know when and I'll be there.
@WelcomeToChat Hi I am interested in supporting or cohosting for SA discussions and am a survivor of this.
Dear Branch:
Thank you so, so much for taking the initiative to host a weekly sesion !
Choose your preferred day of the week and hour (EDT), and let's get started next week !
Thank you again !
All the best !
Marcelo.
@WelcomeToChat I suppose this will be the SA open chat that @MunchieTaters sugested. ShouldI check with her also?
Yes! Sure!
Thank you!
@MunchieTaters
I am very stable and contained. I have found, however, that my childhood memories which came back in 2018 plus memories covering layers of criminally induced amnesia since 1985 started coming up March 4, 2019. I also have been misdiagnosed since 1985. In 2019 I was re-diagnosed sane. Is there anyone who has dealt with human trafficking slavery?? My stepfather who is now 86 and terribly demented used me as his sex slave since 1992. I need to talk. I am terribly against hurting anyone by nature. I am NOT being used anymore as a torture rape sex slave. Thank you honestFarm 6547
@honestFarm6547
Unfortunately, I've not come upon anyone with a history close to yours. I've sent you a PM as well, I'm open to one on one chat with you if you would like someone to talk to.💜🤗
Thank you very much Obs for this great opportunity for the Trauma SubCommunity !
Will it be covered 24hs by global Mods ? Will you set up a weekly spreadsheet for Taruma RS and Mods to cover it ? Or would that should be done by the Trauma Group-Support team ?
Thank you again for this great initiative !
Marcelo
A lot of users would benefit from this. :)
OMG finallly! Thank you so much for listening to us.
I don't have DID, but glad to hear there is more support coming for those seeking that here! ![]()
@ASilentObserver
foen with the post but I have Omer you the problem I have with the DID part since there is more than a lot
This makes me really happy! Rooms dedicated to serious mental health issues is often needed, and something that's been missing from the group chats for a year or two. This is a very good step in a good direction.
@ASilentObserver Are you saying that if we have DID we are required to state which part of us is fronting or are you saying that if we wish to, that is the protocol? Because as we are a covert system, for the most part, and our parts do not always want to tell strangers who they do not know, that they are present.
Also just to share, we do not use the A word for our parts as this can be really triggering for RA survivors, which we happen to be. Thanks for listening :)
@LifeIsMyCanvas Can you explain the last part more? Based on the context I can guess A but I'm confused as to why that word would be a trigger. I don't know what RA is.
@AffyAvo
RA stands for Ritual Abuse, Alter and Altar are therefore easy to confuse and very triggering. My personal perspective on my other personalities is that they are part of me and not alternate versions of me so I use parts because it is less triggering and more helpful. I feel it encourages integration, rather than focusing on our internal differences and has been a healing direction for us. It also helps stops people from asking me dumb things like 'which one is the real you?' etc... As we are most likely poly-fragmented, (more than 100 parts) I need to focus on togetherness as much as possible as it can get very chaotic in our headspace!
@LifeIsMyCanvas
Thank you so much for explaining that. I was also a bit stuck on the meaning of RA. I don't know much about DID, I appreciate you taking a moment to help me/us understand more.
@LifeIsMyCanvas Thanks for educating on that! It sounds like you've been through lots but have come out strong enough to help others!
@LifeIsMyCanvas
I am an RA and have been involved with a lot of VIP's so my background is Top Secret. I have recategorized myself as a sex slave-human trafficking however the perpetrators were Satanic. I'm not. I am also misdiagnosed as a schizophrenic because I claimed that Obama had married me. Well, so did a lot of VIP's, government and otherwise. They all have Marriage Certificates and also memories of the people who ran it stealing from them. It was a big ploy of the terrorist group to get more money. Thank you for being so brave. I hope to hear from you. You take care. Thanks
@honestFarm6547
yeah if I'm not using the RA label I use 'mind-controlled trafficked slave' but your description is pretty accurate also. Never met anyone like me before. Sorry you had to go through that, hope you are free now? I'd really love to have more of an open discussion on cups. I tired to do this back in the day when I was on the trauma team but I was always silenced and told I couldn't even mention SRA or RA. I'm hoping it is different here now because there are not too many helpful resources out there for those of us who need to also work on de-programming as well as the dissociation/CPTSD. Hard to even type this but I know others out there need to see it's ok to say their reality and be believed. I'm fed up with beeing treated like I'm paranoid because my reality/life does not fit anywhere near the 'normal' box.
I think Obs is just saying that they need to know that you are in fact over 18, even though the currently present alter might not be. You don't need to state which alter is present for any other reason. As long as everyone understands you're over 18, you don't need to disclose any more information.
@GoingSafari ok well I have an adult account, not a teen one so hopefully, that clears that up then ![]()
@LifeIsMyCanvas
No, it doesn't. It's very easy to lie upon registration and it happens all the time, so that's why they watch out for that. So if an alter present is under 18, that might raise suspicion that you're abusing your account even when you're not. That why they ask that you make that clear so there's no misunderstanding. It's not there to offend you, it's there to protect users and for liability reasons.
@GoingSafari that wasnt the reson why i asked they didnt give me that reson when i asked even though i am a teen so lets say under 13 here. its was a dumb rule and now gone that wasnt the reson
@LifeIsMyCanvas i had pm obs and it is changed now no need to worry
