@ASilentObserver Thank you so much! *high five* I'd like to share that: Always be calm, kind and professional.
@Anexmos Great advice that can transfer to listening in 1-1, group support, and the forums!
@ASilentObserver woooohhhoooooo thank you !!!
the sharing circles go really well but it is quiet discouraging if you dont get enoug participation on the daily discussions at this point staay clm and give your best
@littlepony Always great to persevere even when there isn't a lot of participation. That's awesome!
@ASilentObserver
Thank you so much! And I look forward to more sessions being held in the coming weeks!
Thank you, and great job to all my fellow hosts as well.
@ASilentObserver
Thank you, Obs!
What is one piece of advice you like to share these sessions with us?
Be active, listen attentively, express kindness & gratitude, and stay close to your Community Mod on duty! XD
@ASilentObserver
Thank you so much!
Stay calm during hosting. It's okay if you mess up something just try to not hurry up with questions or opening the queue in sc. I have learned that the calmer i am while hosting the less mistakes i make.
@ASilentObserver it would be wonderful for support room mentors to be able to see who led discussions in their respective rooms in order to see who is active or not on their team. I remember its something I had access before and no longer have, and I also remember they were used to publish it on the sheet that support room mentors have access and it was updated regularly.
@vivelespatates I think that could be super helpful for teams to be able to better track activity in their group support teams.
thank you so much, Obs and everyone who steps up to hosts sessions <3
I know sometimes it can feel terrifying to host because "what if I mess up?" "what if there are not enough people and I'm left alone in the room?" "what if someone needs help but I cannot provide it to them?" - I just want to say, we all feel like this sometimes. you are never alone. if you ever feel like you need extra help, maybe ask someone to co-host with you! you don't have to do the whole session alone, someone can always help. or just knowing the people know - "I might take some time to use the script but thank you all for being patient with me." "I feel a little nervous hosting but I hope you all understand and I'm sure we'll have a great supportive session." trust me, we will always understand <3
I have noticed that a lot of us struggle to find the right words to comfort someone after and/or during their share. so my piece of advice is, all that is expected out of you is to offer the sharer a safe space. you don't have to write paragraphs comforting them (although, if you can do that, that's awesome and you should!), just letting them say what they want and making them feel heard is more than enough. "thank you for sharing. I hope things work out for you." "you took the first step very bravely by sharing it, I'm delighted you came here, please do keep coming back" "I hope sharing helped you a little, we really appreciate you and are always here for support." I would say, this is really supportive and conveys the message that the sharer has been heard. help is always available for you. if you ever feel you need someone to take over or help you out, really all you have to do is ask. we appreciate any help, no matter how small. you are doing us a great deal of help just by being present in the room too. we appreciate every single one of you.
anyway, this is what I wanted to say to everyone. I hope it helps someone out. thanks again to all those who step up to host these sessions and those, who share, stay and support other people. we all make it work together and we really need to support each other (which we always do! :p). "Keep coming back, we love to have you in Sharing Circles!"
@lumieremilkyway Really helpful insights! Thanks for sharing!
@lumieremilkyway
Really loved everything you wrote Lumi. Thank you so much. This helped me a lot
@ASilentObserver
Thank you! I feel privileged to be a part of the team and the community.
Advice? Aligning passion with purpose can lead to fulfillment. I try to aim for authenticity and equality. (:
@PuzichkinCat We're glad to have you here! And authenticity and equality are fabulous qualities to aim for.
Oh, high five to all these fellow hosts!
My advise is to take it easy. Do the same thing you do 1-1, be supportive and empathic. It's also important to let everyone join in the way they want to join in the discussions but make everyone feel welcomed and included is important. Also make sure you have the time and energy to host so you don't feel stress around you.
Thank you so much everyone for all your wonderful work here at 7 Cups❤
