I scheduled myself in and then cancelled an exercise class a few days ago when I saw the weather report. Really glad I did, we were under a heat warning Tuesday, and last night it go down to 11C, change of 20 degrees. The weather report mention possible tornadoes this morning, and yesterday there was one North of me.

I think it's this weather change that has me feeling awful. I feel asleep early yesterday, was up for a while late at night with the wind and then slept in really late this morning. I went out to pick up a tomato pot that was knocked over and the wind left me feeling pretty breathless.

I did get some exercise on what may have been our hottest day so far this summer - went to the lake with a friend & her kids. Parking lot was full, so had a mini walk (plus walking in the sand once there). We also took out a paddle boat. I like the idea of taking out a boat, but if I were to go out alone there's a good chance I would get exhausted and need to be rescued! Not sure if going out on such at hot day was the best thing physically and maybe it did contribute along with the sudden pressure change to not feeling great today. I stayed hydrated though, didn't feel like I was overheating and I had a great time with my friends despite feeling quite tired out that evening.

Yesterday I bought more stevia plants as I enjoy the one I have so much! Haven't transplanted them though, it's too windy!

@AffyAvo

Hey there Affy

Thats too bad about the weather ruining your plans for getting workout and activity in~ But it sounded pretty serious and like you did the right thing for yourself for sure! Did there end up being any tornados there?!... I find that odd that Canada would get "tornados"?!

How nice that you were able to get out with your friend and enjoy the day... And at the Lake is even better!.. Sounds like you did alot of walking?! Paddle boating can really be great activity!... It can be very challenging for sure and work muscles in ways most wouldn't think about~... It can be tiring for sure....

(I can remember being younger than the age of 10, maybe 7 or 8?... and I was on one with my aunt. I got SOOOO tired so quickly.... and all she kept saying to me was "keep going or we're gonna be stuck out here").... Obviously her way of getting me to do more work so that it wouldn't fall all on her..lol.... But it worked, b/c I was afraid to be stuck out in the middle of the lake somewhere unable to get back! (Mind of 7-8 year old scared child of course)....

But yes, I totally agree, I might need to be rescued from that too! lol....I'm sure with your condition, that you would surely get exhausted rather easily, especially with subpar weather conditions....

Good for you on staying hydrated, that can make a bit of a difference of course~... Its just good for you that over-all, that you still had a great time with your friend!

Thanks so much for checking in this week , keeping us up to date on things and letting us know how you've been doing~

@PoliteOcean

Last I looked, Environment Canada suspected there were 2 tornados on Wednesday, haven't heard of any yesterday. Nothing right in my immediate area, about 1.5-2 hr drive (what they say about measuring distance in Canada via time is true!). Canada actually has a separate tornado alley from the one in the US. The ones we get here are typically smaller, and massive hail tends to be way more common than tornados - the alley also tends to be the hail belt - but this city had a really big one in my lifetime, quite well known here as black friday.

The lake was a short walk, so not a ton of walking, but enough considering how hot it was. I wasn't wearing my fitbit as it's not a waterproof one, so I don't know for certain.

Despite how poorly I felt yesterday, I somehow still met the step goal I have on my fitbit. I think there was a bit of a glitch, as 1000 steps happened in 15 minutes while I was talking on the phone. I do tend to walk around while on the phone, I dunno why, I could be sitting on the couch, will call someone and suddenly I'm walking back and forth between a few rooms. It tends to be a relaxed pace though, I could see maybe 500 steps in 15 minutes on the phone. Still though, for a day where I slept in late, felt like I needed rest, reaching the step count set - 1000 is still good.

Today I was really active in the garden. Put all my pots back to their rightful places, fertilized, so that involved using the watering cans more than a hose = more walking and carrying fairly heavy watering cans. I also did a bit of pruning, harvested some of the brokali and broccolini and also pulled the first potatoes for the year. Was pretty hot today, not heating warning level of hot, but bright sun. Hit the step count for today too. I joke when it goes off that it means I'm not allowed to walk anymore, as it's not a real goal I aim to hit, but it gives me a good if I was sitting on the couch most of the day, or was actually up and moving doing errands or somewhere in between.

@AffyAvo This was a meme in the province 2 years ago. He was 'keeping an eye on it'.

Not my response at all, but once I was driving quite close to a tornado. I didn't realize it at the time, I had to stop on the side of the highway due to the hail/heavy rain along with others. No alert came on the radio (and I lost the signal for a bit), I found out afterwards there was a tornado nearby. Alerts are useful, but at the time I'm glad one didn't come through just moments before, as there wasn't anywhere to seek shelter. Tornados are scary, hail as long as there is head covering is more just a concern about the windshield holding up and not getting side swiped/rear ended if someone decides to attempt to drive through it instead of waiting it out.
