⭐️This past week was the usual.. Continuing to take care of myself & over-all well-being. Just going with the flow of how I feel each day. Some days went better than others with that, but Got some good sleep, hydration, and kept up with workouts and activity overall. And Taught my usual Zumba classes... and started my "Holiday playlist" in my classes to brighten the hour for my participants. Which seemed to go well~
🎄 Worked on some minor things around the house this week with some small home-improvement projects with the hubby..... And just simply continuing to get my home in order for the holidays with adding lights outside & continuing to get things in order on the inside.... The weather has been a little dismal, chilly, and rainy here over the past few days, so its been the perfect time to get these things done.
🎅 Trying to put together a new game plan on my personal goals going forwards... and looking forwards to finishing "This month" stronger than I started it. And having a better & stronger "head in the game" going into the New Year ahead~
🎁 This weekends intentions are to get in an early morning (Sat) Group fitness class. Then there will be a few local Holiday Festivals going on in different local towns. So will possibly attend one or two of those. With some light shopping~ And some good weekend movie time.
ENJOY THE WEEKEND AHEAD~
@PoliteOcean I been trying to cancel my gym membership and they took out a good chunk of change yesterday. Regret the notion of "get fit = gym membership cost arm leg" idea. I should have just used Youtube from the get. haha. Dont sign up with corporations. They make it a hassle to cancel. and charge you for it too!

@HopieRemi
Thats why I NEVER do contracts with anyone~ (especially gyms). I tend to do 'Drop-in' fees, or find community centers or studios that allow you to drop-in for workouts. Even though the membership might give a little more accountability, its still not a "given". And I feel if one "wants and desires" to workout, then they will make it happen regardless of the membership.
Hope it all works out for you 👍
sleep: Today I woke up (again) a little after 9am, which is an improvement from yesterday. I have a Zoom scheduled for Tuesday at 11am, so I want time to get relaxed and prepared for that. So I need to keep up good habits. I am hoping tomorrow I can wake up at/by 8:45-9:00am. Right now the biggest challenge is that I will wake up earlier, like 7am when I'd like to be awake, but then I go back to bed. I'm not sure what would be motivating for me to get out. I find it overwhelming, so maybe before bed I could do some activities like setting out an outfit to make it easier to start my day.
hygiene: I have been brushing my teeth at least once a day. Doing so before noon is difficult. I've been taking a shower every other day so far. I'm mostly struggling with the silence/sounds of the shower which can be triggering. I find it really helpful to have relaxing piano/acoustic music play on a speaker I have in the bathroom to make me feel comfortable spending more time in there.
@JarofSeeds627
Hey there~.. Thats great that you are working on things little by little to improve your habits over time. It's personally very challenging for me to wake up early. I am a true "night-owl" and detest early morning wake times. However, I know how much we can do and get accomplished in our day by getting up early. And working on & creating good habits is to do so is a great step towards staying motivated going forwards. And getting a great jumpstart on your day. Keep up the great work.
That really good for you that you are taking steps towards your personal hygiene habits. That is very important to take care of ourselves on every level. Making small steps for yourself and working towards bigger ones is a great first step. If "showering" bothers you, perhaps a nice bath would be better? However, working on overcoming your fears is awesome too. And incorporating things to help such as your music to help you feel comfortable is great work. Keep it up!
And thank you so much for checking in this week and sharing with us. And letting us know how you are doing.
@PoliteOcean Here's how the past week went. Monday I had a psychiatrist appointment that lasted for a full hour. I'm supposed to be on a new medication to increase my dopamine levels. Deysi was supposed to take me grocery shopping but had to cancel because her heater needed fixing. It worked out okay for me because I was wiped out from my appointment. Wednesday morning I had therapy. It's going well but not much we can do in just 30 minutes. Wednesday afternoon I had an acupuncture appointment. I was going to go for a walk but it was drizzling out so decided to skip it. Friday I went to the bank, went to buy Christmas cards, and went for a walk. I made a commitment to my psychiatrist to walk for 16 minutes per walk, which is an upgrade from my usual 12 minutes per walk. My goal is to increase my dopamine levels. I'm getting stronger so I should be able to handle more. Saturday I went for a walk through my creepy neighborhood. I'm listening to worship music for 15-20 minutes before going to bed, but not sure if I'm going to continue. I'm studying the book of Psalms for my devotional, and watching psychology videos 1 hour per day.
Forgot to add I hosted the sharing circle 5 times.
@Regmo
Hey there Regmo~ It sounds like you had a busy week. Its good that Deysi's cancellation didn't derail things for you in your day. Also, if you feel that the 30 minutes isn't enough for you, perhaps you could talk to your therapist about increasing it to 45 minutes? Usually most appointments are for 45. And they will tend to work with you and increase that time if they feel its needed. I think its awesome that you are working on some personal goals with your psychiatrist. And increasing by even a few minutes can be very beneficial. Perhaps since you are going to commit to 16, maybe by the this time next month, you could increase it to another 4 minutes up to 20 minutes?! Plus being out in the Sun for 15-20 can help with increasing your Vitamin D levels and Serotonin levels which could totally help increase your mood and the way you feel each day. And its great that you are feeling stronger to try more for yourself. And great job at incorporating all of your personal self-care and continuing to work towards your self improvement. Continue to keep up the great work that have been doing for yourself. And thank you for continuing to stop by to share and keeping us updated on how things are going for you.
