** This past week has gone really well... Since I did splurge some over the Thanksgiving Holiday, I did get back on track right away and began this week on the "right foot"~...I stayed on track with all meals, activity, and water... Still working on my sleep.

**All my classes continued to do really well this past week, Numbers/Attendance went great. So I was excited for that, and hope that it will continue through this holiday month.... Since I mostly teach Mondays & Tuesdays, and Christmas/New Years (Eve & Day) both fall on those days this year, I will manage to get myself a little two-week vacation for the Holidays! I'm Sooooo very much looking forward to that time. To relax, spend time with family, focus on SELF CARE! And enjoy the Holidays~

**The weather here has been back and forth... So I haven't been walking as much with my mom, but we did manage to get in 3 mornings this past week. I love to get that "jump-start" on the day and get a majority of my "steps" and activity out of the way...

**As this month proceeds ahead, I'm simply just looking forward to being with my family and celebrating the season. I'm hoping to get out this season and take part in some holiday traditions around our town. Which I didn't do much of last year because December always seems to just FLLYYYYYY right by that I didn't make the time... But this year I hope to!...... Today is my FREE DAY!... Very happy that its here... I'm choosing to start the day at the local Warehouse for the Bi-Weekly POUND class, get in activity, and then work on some personal things and errands today.~

ENJOY YOUR WEEKEND~ yes

Hey Rebekah... Nice to have you check in today....

Tell me more about your "Christmas Soup" and what makes it so special that you are looking forward to it so much? What type of soup is it? Sounds like things are going well for you this week. That's great. Thanks so much for checking in today and letting us know how things are going for you!

@PoliteOcean part of my family is solvac and it's a family tradition to have this soup. Note: not everyone likes it. It has suarkuat mushrooms and onions in it. It was about whatever the saved from the harvest. It was just every year something that brought the family together. (The bittersweet part is the side of family that taught me how to make it my brother and I estranged from the family, but we are still celebrating traditions just wish less drama and yet I miss the family, sigh. )

My birthday is 12 days so that is also why I'm excited around this time.

I got my blood test results back and it's not good news. My cholestorel is high, my sodium is low, my chloride is low, and my Vitamin D is low. These things can be fixed with medication but I want to get off my medication, not take more. I hope my doctor doesn't prescribe statins for my cholesterol. Statins are bad for me. My doctor thinks I might have the H. Pylori bacteria in my digestive system.

@Regmo

Hey there Regmo!...

So nice to see you this week..... Sorry to hear that your test came back with undesired results. ... But on a more positive note, you were able to go out and get them done, and now that part is over. You have the results, and you know what needs to be done, and can start working on that and moving forward with a plan to help change those results to a more desired outcome.

All of the results that you have mentioned are fairly common, easy "fixes". So you can do this!...... Just continue to keep yourself "informed" on what you need to do to make that happen, and you will get there!

Please continued to keep us informed on how things are coming along for you, and thanks so much for checking in this week and letting us know how things have been going for you!

I am a little more back on track this week, after 2 weeks of eating a lot, and eating many bad things. I had 3 birthday celebrations with Thanksgiving in between, which resulted in me eating a lot of cake and pie! I am safe from extra sweets until the holiday treats at work start ramping up.

I took a 6 mile walk the day after Thanksgiving, which was very cold but enjoyable. Our state parks had a photo contest to encourage people to spend the day outside at a park instead of in stores. I enjoy entering their contests, which they have a few times throughout the year. I love taking pictures and I love being at the parks. The long walks unfortunately always make some of my physical problems get worse, but luckily I had my monthly "maintenance" visit to my physical therapist that Monday and she helped ease some of the pain.

Since the time change, I can't go to the park after work like I had been doing once or twice a week this fall. I am instead going to the Y two afternoons a week. Cardio equipment in a gym is not my favorite, but at least I am burning some calories. Yesterday I did my usual 30 minutes and for the 20 that I spend on the treadmill I listened to my current audiobook so that made it more interesting.

We had a nice visit with my younger son and his wife last weekend. This weekend my husband and I will go to our favorite restaurant for their buffet lunch. I am taking care of a friends animals also. Other than that, it is the usual weekend stuff like laundry and maybe some grocery shopping.

@SadMe70

Hey there Sad!... So great to see you this week.

Sounds like you've been doing really well this past week, (as well as keeping busy)!... Great for you for being able to get back on track after all of those events! (I feel you)!!.... Awesome for you on your 6mile walk! And how nice that your parks offer something like that for your community. That is a great encouragement and motivator. And how nice to able to combine the things that you like love and enjoy (Photography & and being outdoors)...

I'm really proud of you that you are taking the time for yourself, and keeping yourself on track by getting to your local YMCA. (I'm not a big gym person with all the "equipment" either), but you gotta do, what you gotta do, and if that is what you are able to do and keep up with at this time, even if its not your favorite, then you are doing an AMAZING job! Its challenging enough to stay motivated this time of year with all the holidays, treats and such. So just be Proud that you are sticking to a 'plan'!

How nice that you are your husband made plans to get out and about and enjoy a favorite place together. I hope that you enjoyed your time out and enjoy the weekend ahead! Thanks so much for checking in this week and letting us know how things have been going!

** How has everyone been doing This past week?!

This week has been awful. I genuinely don't know anymore why I'm trying to get healthier or why I even started.

** This is the First Day of a Brand New Month!.. What are your plans for the Month of December?!

I had vacation plans but my mother cancelled them for everyone last minute. Didn't even get a say in it. So I feel my entire month is ruined. Struggling to stay positive about it because it was the only thing I'd looked forward to, something to keep me going and to keep me from negative habits - it helped keep my depression at bay a little. Now I don't have anything to look forward to like I had counted on.

**What are you looking forward to the MOST this month?

Starting with a new therapist who can maybe help me figure out what is wrong with me, why I either feel a lot or feel nothing, why I can't control my anger, why I have such intense fears about people leaving me and accuse them of it. And maybe she can explain to me why I hate the people I had loved - why I keep making the mistake of loving people when I first meet them - and help me cope in ways that aren't self-harm for once. I keep trying on my own to change. Never could in the past, maybe I can now with this new therapist's help.

**What goals would you like to work on OR accomplish before the end of this year?

Not sure. I guess to get through the rest of the semester.

**What things would YOU like to talk about or share with us?! WE want to hear from YOU!! smiley

Actually just a couple of questions : is it really possible to show signs of mental illness early in life but not have it diagnosed until later because it seems like another mental illness? Can certain symptoms always exist but not become more prominent until later?

I have been diagnosed with depression and social anxiety 2 years ago... but my anxiety is getting worse in other areas of my life, not just social situations. I also didn't tell my therapist all of my symptoms because I'm ashamed of my anger and I say to people when I'm angry. My depression is worse, my impulsivity is worse, my anger has always felt so out of control when it hits, people leave my life because of me and I've always been scared of them leaving me so... It's ruining my life. I feel like I can't talk about it because I feel like an imposter or a copycat. I feel so empty right now and I'm kind of afraid of the next time I feel something. I don't know what my next emotion is going to be but I know it'll be intense, consume me.

@Lexloveslife

Hey there Lex!.. So glad to hear from you this week...

Sounds like you are having a tough time right now, and perhaps struggling a bit to find some positivity. Sorry to hear that....

I'm sorry to hear that your vacation plans have been cancelled. I'm sure that was quite a blow. I know how exciting it can feel to have "something'" to look forward to. And I'm sure it was quite the challenge to suddenly have it all taken away at the last moment....... What are some other things that have made you happy in the past? What are some things that make you happy "now/presently"? What do you like to do, or where do you like to go that brings you happiness? Perhaps focusing on "those" things, or re-creating those moments can give you something to look forward to?

From the feelings you described above, those feelings could be a sign of many things. (For starters, it could be a sign of BPD which is known as Borderline Personality Disorder) ..... I'm not saying that is what you have specifically, but those symptoms/signs do tend to fall into that category. You can go from happy to sad fast, your mood can change dramatically, You can have un-rational fears of being "abandoned" by the ones you love.. as well as LOTS of anger that you can't control, nor know where it comes from?!.. etc... etc...

You say you have an app't coming up soon.. So perhaps talking with your provider about what is going on, will steer you into the right direction of a more precise Diagnoses!...

Also to your question, YES, it is very possible to have signs of mental illness and go undiagnosed for years..... And mental illness wasn't really as prevelent years ago like it is now.... and only now in recent years are people really looking at things more seriously when it comes to mental illness, and giving things "Names" now, giving it that "Label" as to what it falls under... Giving it a "voice".

You really should perhaps consider talking about these things with your therapist. That is the only real way to get it out there, and get the "correct" help that is needed. Through whatever means, (Meds, Counsel, Psych provider etc..) ...

Just know that we are hear for you, as well, you can feel free to stop by my Pm's anytime, and we can chat, as I feel I know a little about what you are talking about and may be able to help you relate to your feelings.

Thanks so much for checking in this week, and letting us know how you've been doing.. I know it wasn't an easy thing to do!.. Please keep us up to date on how things are continuing to go for you!

@PoliteOcean

I had a therapy appointment. I cancelled it on the day of. It was going to be first appt with a new one. Couldn't do it. Don't deserve help. This pain is my fault and I deserve every bit of it. Why take resources away from those that are worthy of it and need it? I'm not worthy of it and don't need it because I'm supposed to be in pain. This is what I get for continuously hurting people all the time. So I might as well shut up and stop complaining.

Weather has been good so outdoor walking has been the main exercise. Going into these holidays I think I am on track for moderation. Last month flew buy which is good. Should follow the same routine for December as November. My goal is to stay on track with exercise and healthy eating. Still working on some November goals of getting organized. Made good progress early in November, but slowed down during the holiday, but back on track. Nice sunny weekend for outside walking. Enjoy your weekend.

@sail46

Hey there Sail!..

Its great that you are continuing to stay on track... I know for one, that I am certainly in a much better "mind-set" with food and such than I was last year. Sounds like you are as well!?... I intend to attempt the same and follow the same routine for December too. Sounds like we both have the same goals which are to continue to stay on track with our activity and healthy eating~ Especially as these holidays are fast approaching again. BUT.. We made it through "One" holiday!.. So we're doing great!.. One down, "One" more to go, (Or maybe 2 more if you are celebrating New Year Eve)? I know we usually do.

Great for you for continuing to get your outdoor walking in... and continuing to keep on track with your goals and plans!... Its great to have a plan and be able to continue to "stick" with it and stay on track. Sticking with it, is usually the hardest part for most. But you're doing great. Keep up the great work that you are doing and thanks for checking in this week and letting us know how things have been going for you!

** How has everyone been doing This past week?!

The week is going fairly well so far. I've (yet again) attempted to restart my routine. I'm trying to start slowly, because I have a lot of urgent things on my plate and also haven't been feeling well, so I don't want to start full force back into exercise and end up wiping out the next day. So I've been getting out for nature walks and focusing on breathing and quick meditations.

** This is the First Day of a Brand New Month!.. What are your plans for the Month of December?!

Really just to get back on track and organized, and get my things done for the holidays. I know my schedule is just going to be different than usual at least until the new year.

**What are you looking forward to the MOST this month?

Making the holiday mine again and trying new traditions.

**What goals would you like to work on OR accomplish before the end of this year?

Hopefully getting into a reliable routine. I have realized that I really need to make myself do some sort of exercise or physical activity every single day. If I don't, I get sucked into the spiral.

**What have been your "highlights" this past week? What are your weekend plans?

Feeling better, I suppose. I was having intense migraines every day there for a while. Now it's more like a headache in the background. Weekend plans... will try to get out to this driving Christmas lights display here. Oh, and booking a little weekend trip for the following weekend to do some holiday activities.

I find this time of year tough. Despite starting things early, I feel behind. I would have liked the house to be decorated already, it's not. I think I have a little over half my Christmas shopping done.

I took today off to just rest, slept a really long time, I was hoping to do things after that but I wasn't feeling up to it.

I went to a Piyo trial class and didn't do large portions. It's one of the possibilities for replacing Zumba Gold - but I don't see how it would be a good match for me. Way too many modifications are needed. It's too much time on one 'working leg' - I need more altering. Also too much time with pressure on the wrists. Despite skipping large portions during the class I was quite sore the day after - and not DOMS type soreness, it was areas that weren't even touched, more flu-like soreness. It went away fast at least. I think the parts I did do along with going to craft sales and a Christmas party was just too much overall.
