**AND ANY & ALL NEWBIES!!
** This week has been alright... Got back on better track with workouts and better eating again... Taught Two Zumba classes, started a 2nd class with my Zumba Gold ladies, And attended another. Got back on track with a little walking again as well.. The weather was a "Tad" nicer this week, so I was able to get back to a walk by the Lake again which is the puppy's favorite place! He had a blast!
** My goal for this month is develop a better sleep pattern (yes still trying....) and also to figure out what route I want to take to my workouts as well as my eating plan.... Weight Watchers will be changing up their point system again tomorrow
, so... Will have to figure out what is going to work for me to keep me satisfied. Also, with the winter creeping in, I need to make more of a plan/commitment to figure out workout routines for "indoors" so that I don't get bored. I'm more of a group fitness person, so that I have accountability to stay on track. (But, I'm not apart of any gyms, and just pay for random classes as I go)......
**Today is my rest day, However, Today was our local Bi-monthly POUND Fitness class, so I went there and Got my workout on!.... I love that class... Its truly another passion of mine that I can't wait to get licenced in.. Just waiting until after the holidays for my money to come together
.....And off to do a few errands and some minor Christmas shopping today. Then to hopefully relax this evening with some good movies~
I HOPE THAT EVERYONE ELSE'S WEEK HAS BEEN GOING WELL!
@PoliteOcean
That's a really lovely update! Good for you <3
@PoliteOcean
Very encouraging! I've been working on adjusting sleep also, not an easy task these days! Thank you, wishing you the best!
I have been engaging in cardio exercise several times a week. I have also been engaging in relaxation activities. I drink a lot less coffee, and have started to drink more water, and green tea. I am varying my workouts, to include a variety of things such as step exercise, skating, walks, swimming, and going to the gym.
you are doing mazing @politeocean 😊 truly wish i had your dedication to fitness and healthy living. i have fallen off the band wagon, tho not completely, im still trying, however, my motivation is a lil zilch. I'm eating ok-ish n drinking my water, tho i need to do that more. i can't find the motivation to go back to the gym or or walk or anything...i need that.
I'm hoping the New Year will bring me motivation 😊
keep up the great work Ocean 😊 and i love this thread, i need to post often again.
@Keola
Thank you very much Keola.. I try, but honestly I have really gotten off track myself as well.. since late summer/early fall......My eating goes back and forth especially when it comes to the weekends, its the exercising that I am able to at least try to maintain somewhat since I am back to teaching Zumba regulary....and taking classes again.
At least you are acknowledging that you know you have gotten off track, and that you want to do something about it.. And its never too early to start ;) Perhaps you can start doing smaller things "before" the New Year? Like just drinking more water, or walking 10 minutes at a time etc..etc... and gradually build upon whatever it is that you decide to do? ..... If its motivation that you need, have you asked yourself "What Motivates You"? ( for instance, I know for me, I like for my husband to walk with me in the evenings, or I like to attend classes that are "fun" and engaging)... those are the only things that help to keep me on track with workouts at least.....
So what do you think would motivate you? Perhaps starting there could help?.....If you don't know now, perhaps thinking on it and coming up with a plan before the new year could be a goal for you to work on?!
.....We are here to help you the best we can.
Thank you so much for checking in this week and letting us know how things are going with you! You got this and you can do it!!
@PoliteOcean ... i dont have any motivation atm so I'll have to think about it. i have plantar fasciitis and so zumba and hip hop cardio is put for now....no matter what i try it hurts, i may just get the shot. hiking and walking is still not attractive atm ... I'll think and i will let you kno for sure. Thank you
@PoliteOcean sounds awesome! Zuma is an amazing workout and it's fun at the same time. I've been trying to get more people to start jump rope fitness for fat loss. So far 21 people have started and they all feel the difference. another personal goal I have is to gain an extra 2 or 3 kg in the next few weeks for some extra bulk. Good luck with your fitness hope it goes well 😄😄
@SpecterDonut
Wow Specter! That is awesome!... 21 people is Alot!... Thats really great... I always liked to jumprope, but I could never keep it up "consistently" as far as jumping to make it last long enough to call it a workout for myself. My feet would always somehow get caught after I'd get going at a good momentum lol...... Keep up the great work that you are doing, thats pretty amazing!...... and thank you as well for the continued support! Thank you so much for checking in this week and for letting us know how you are doing! Great luck on your continued goals!!
I've been working a lot this past week and things have been going relatively well because I am learning a lot in my new job. I am currently working on a goal to get a better job as a 911 dispatcher, I have a test to take on wednesday, so I'm excited. This month, I will be eager to spend time with my family........CHRISSSSTMASSSS <3
@AlluraRae
A 911 Dispatcher!.. That is really awesome for you!.... That is a great job. I'm currently a nurse... there were a few times that I had thought about doing that myself. That is a really important job. Good luck with all of that and please let us know how that goes for you..
And I feel the same, I love this time of year and getting to spend it with my family to celebrate the holidays...I hope that you enjoy every moment. Thanks so much for checking in this week and for letting us know how how things are going for you! And please keep us updated on how everything goes for you!
@PoliteOcean
This past week wasn't so bad :)
I graduated physical therapy and started a regular exercises regimen.
Plan on getting more yoga in.
By the end of this month, I hope to set up goals for this coming year.
I want to work on building my coping skills toolkit.
@Mellietronx
Wow Mellie! What a great check-in! Congrats to you!.. Way to go.... These are alot of great accomplishments as well as goals you are setting for yourself. You have always done such a great job (even though nobody is perfect, and things get off track here and there) you always seem to manage to get back on track and continue to keep going! Keep up the great work that you are doing and thank you so much for checking in this week. So glad to hear from you :)
I haven't been on track with my goals due to a lack of energy and motivation, I am wondering if part of this has to do with winters toll. I plan to do better now that I have a routine set that I feel is attainable. My goal for the month is to sleep & rise earlier and stay on track with routines to be sure I don't skip rejuvenating practices like meditation and herbal baths. I'm hoping this will deepen sleep cycles to help raise my energy level throughout the day to stay on track. Time to begin embracing every moment respectively!
@Consciousawakening
I do think the winter has alot to do with it.... This is the time of year (that because it gets darker earlier) and the sunlight isn't as much, it tends to "Zap" our energy levels as well as our Serotonin levels in our bodies.... This time of year can have many feeling tired, sluggish, un-rested, depressed and many other feelings and emotions...
It is so great that you recognize it, want to do something about it, and are making such AWESOME goals and plans for yourself to help better yourself and to get and stay on track. Amazing! You can certainly do it!...Sleep is not one of my better things, as I am a night-owl, so I know how this can play apart of what the following day ahead might feel like physically, mentally and emotionally. Getting these things on track and in balance for yourself can make a world of difference for sure. Keep up the great work! And thank you so much for checking in this week and for letting us know how you are doing. Please keep us updated on your progress! Best of luck to you on your continued goals and plans!!
This week i started to go Live.
Yes! And that's pretty cool! I set up a time when it's comfortable and am able to prepare for it properly. THat means getting all prepped up, putting on my make up. Disciplining myself with regards to the mood i communicate, the message i prepare. And just gettin all prepped, which is no small matter as i plunge into work usually without caring how i look. Excited! Will go until Christmas!
@HopefulSong17
Sounds interesting (and brave!) Hopeful!...Don't think I could put myself out there like that lol....But that is great that its something you want to do and are preparing for it. And also that you're excited about it. Always nice to have something to look forward to!...
Thanks for checking in this week and letting us know how you are doing... Keep us informed on how things go for you!
Hi Everyone:
Sorry I'm late to check-in somehow I didn't see it earlier.
Week has been kind of rough had an bad anxiety flare up. I did manage to stick to my healthy eating plan and talk walks after dinner five times this week. That might not sound like much but I have trying to gradually establish healthier habits so they stick.
And that is what went well- diet and exercise this week.
My goal is to continue to stick to my healthy eating plan, walking and if I can add in the gym one day a week. We will see how that goes with the holidays coming up.
Most important thing I guess is to stay eating healthy while enjoying the holidays. Christmas is my favorite holiday and I don't want to go overboard with food.
I am hoping to accomplish meeting my health goals (as set forth by my DR). Which require me to lose a significant amount of weight. It's going to take time but Ineed to do this so I can hopefully avoid obesity related illneses. Already I have had a couple of high readings on my blood pressure, and I want to see it come back down. To be fair, a lot of it can be contributed to stress, but then again reducing and managing stress in your life is part of living healthy too.
So let's just say I have a lot to work on but I am trying to do it bit by bit.
Hope everyone has Happy Holidays!
@orangeOwl1462
Wow... such a great check-in Owl! So great to hear from you... You should be so VERY proud of yourself! I am certainly proud of you... You are doing quite a great job.. It can be challenging to keep going for 5 days..but you did it! And stayed on track. You are doing a great job at going after your goals and making those attempts to make it happen. Just know that we are here for you, if you have any questions or anything you'd like to chat about. Keep going. You can certainly do this! As somebody who's lost a good bit of weight in the past, I certainly relate to your goals, needs, and also wanting to still enjoy things and life.~
Keep up the great work that you are doing! Sounds like you are certainly on the right track. Thank you so much for checking in this week and for letting us know how you are doing! Stay in touch with us, and let us know how everything is going for you!
I'm feeling very off-track exercise wise. I'm not as sick as I was a while ago, but I'm not back to the point where I feel comfortable going to the gym. Running basic errands depletes me and I find my airways end up more congested afterwards.
I'm hoping I haven't/won't lose strength and endurance as much as I have in the past from this break. I've had days where I have done very little other than sitting/lying down but they have been shorter periods than sick times in the past. I've done a decent amount of walking around considering how I've been feeling, plus carrying shopping bags, lifting up my nephews, etc. so hopefully that's enough to not have major losses while my airways clear and heal.
I'm hoping to get back to the gym next week, but I also don't want to push myself too hard too soon and just end up sicker, so I will have to wait and see.
@AffyAvo
Sorry to hear that you are still trying to play catch-up on everything after being under-the-weather..... I'm sure you are certainly doing what is best for you right now and you know your body and what you need to do. Nobody knows that better than you......
Do you find that with your condition that you tend to heal slower? I was just curious...
Its good that you are getting better little by little, I understand that you don't want to go "backwards" in what you've already accomplished due to your set-backs.... But I'm sure that you will eventually get there again day by day. Just continue to take the time that you know you need for yourself. And as you stated, hopefully you will make it back there next week...even if just starting out with something very small....Thanks so much for checking in this week and letting us know how you've been feeling.
@PoliteOcean I do tend to stay sick longer. It's difficult to know how much of it is HAE versus other issues. A fair bit of it is more holistic than being able to pinpoint one thing as well. Someone who has influenza and strep throat will probably take at least an extra day to fully recover from strep throat than someone who just has strep throat and no flu. Someone with a chronic illness and then an infection just has that extra stress for their body to deal with.
