**This has been quite the week... I had an issue at the start of the week that caused me to have to go to the Urgent Care to get looked at... Not something I care to do.. Even being in the medical field, I really do dislike having to go be seen as a patient... With it being Sunday I wasn't there long, but was having some pain that needed dealt with.... So that started off my week, Did a little better on Monday and although I cancelled one of my Zumba Classes in the morning, I did end up teaching the 2nd one in the afternoon..., but by Tuesday I still was back to not feeling the best. So I had to get a Substitute to cover my POUND Fitness class that day...... Another thing I don't like doing is having to find a "Sub" to cover me... I look at it as being "My" class, a Class that "I built up" from ground zero.... my classes are like having another child! I grow it, I nurture it, I do the best that I can to keep it going and see it through and try not to disappoint..... But in the end all went well and she was a good sub.

** With it being a rather stressing and busy week.. I did NOT stay on track the best with my eating.. I tried though... however my Sleep was AWESOME this week due to the Meds that I was given!,,,Go figure.. Finally got a FULL 8-9 hours of sleep instead of 7 or less.

**Its been a little challenging to be in a position where you can't do the things that you are normally used to do each day,...And not only Having to go be seen on Sunday, I also had other appointments too on WEDNESDAY, THURSDAY AND FRIDAY!... surprise.So I haven't really been on here much except to read responses and check messages. I apologize to ANYONE that I did not respond to, because I do wish for you all to know that even If theres that "rare" occasion where I don't get to respond, PLEASE know that I care about each and everyone of you, and that I DO Read EACH and EVERY post/comment! You all mean alot to me here in this subcommunity and I'm grateful for all of you who check in each week and love travelling this crazy journey with you all!~....

**And as far as Valentines Day, it was pretty simple. The usual Cards, Flowers etc.. and my Hubby got me this cute little decorated Chocolate Chip cookie (that in the end kind of upset me since it caused me to "spiral" into other temptations) frownno...I always tell him please don't bring me any Food home (unless its my Free Day!).......Today is supposed to be my FREE day, but I feel like I've been doing that all week~.... I was supposed to go to the Bi-Monthly Pound event at the warehouse, but my plan is to continue to just rest up until Monday comes so that prayerfully I will be able to get back to teaching my own classes again.....We might go do a "late" Valentines dinner since he had to work Thursday..... (Rather an excuse to get out of this house) lol...

ENJOY YOUR WEEKEND~yes

@PoliteOcean it sure does seem you have had quite the week. We have all had those! What made you go to urgent care? If you deal with anxiety, how do you help yourself? what kinds of things do you do? I also deal with my own anxiety but it has been manageable.

@condrespaoils

I was having some pain and it wasn't going away... so I went to get seen and get some meds as well....

Also whenever I have anxiety, I "try" at least to get up and direct my thoughts and attention to something else....It helps that I have a Dog, whom I love very deeply, and its very easy to focus on him as well and ease my tension. (And I have a very supportive husband who helps as well)....

Also it helps to get out of the house with my dog, and go for a walk or to his favorite place by the lake.... and we sit and look out at the water, or watch the boats go by.... Pets can be really soothing and beneficial to our mental health.

just finding little things to do to get my attention elsewhere helps!

Im new to this group, hello!

Im a young professional, trying to steer clear of marijuana and alcohol.

Ive been cleansing and fasting on and off all month. my primary set back is alcohol, and i look forward to being sober for the rest of the month.

I hope the shift in my lifestyle ripples out into my life, with positive results for everyone.

A more regular exercise routine would be nice too. Its just been so cold and rainy lately.

Planning to go to hot yoga tomorrow.

Have a great day, and good luck!

Hi everyone, finally I'm not ill anymore! I'm stressed a lot though, I feel let down by my therapist, seems like she prefers doing my mother's interests rather than mine and I feel not important enough to ever be put first, not even by my therapist. (ED triggering warning) lately I find very difficult to eat and thoughts about wanting to be thin and disappearing bother me a lot. I'm not hungry and eating really annoys me, it's hard even forcing myself to eat a couple of biscuits or a small meal. I get tired and sleep a lot but I don't rest. I don't know how much it could be linked to stress or to my eating, that's becoming really unhealthy

@GhostlyLilian I've had struggles with not being able to eat as well, it was very difficult because I'm naturally large so nobody thought anything was wrong or checked up on me. Maybe try an eating schedule. Things like "I will eat at least 5 grapes by 9am" or drinking a supplement shake like Ensure. The longer you go without eating properly the less you want to eat in my experience, it's great that you are mindful of it and trying to eat. I hope this week goes well for you laugh

@optimisticDay6856 thanks for answering. You're right: not eating, even if not intentionally, is a huge trigger. The less you eat, the more you are tempted to go on restricting. And now that I managed to eat something, I'm feeling guilty! I have an awesome friend who helped me finding motivation to cook and eat today, but one of the ingredients I used was stale and I didn't notice, I had to throw away everything and (ED TRIGGERING) I was about to fast completely today, out of anger. But she was chatting with me in real time, made me laugh, distracted me, and I was able to at least eat some cookies, but now I feel so guilty! (TW) I could have eaten nothing today! What if I did? How much would I have lost? Eating issues are definitely coming back sad I know the best medicine would be eating so much to erase days of barely eating with a couple of meals and get the idea of restricting OUT of my mind. But would I be able to? I don't want to make it difficult, but because of anxiety issues it's really hard for me to go uotdoor and buy some food, so eating healthy and meal plans have an added difficult too. I hate this, I hate this angry I'd just just like to wake up and be normal, it wouldn't be bad to have things easy for once, you know?

@GhostlyLilian

Hey there Lilian... Its great that you are finally not feeling ill anymore, but I'm sorry to hear that you are going through other stressors at this time...

Sounds like you and your therapist need to have another talk about how she is making you feel?!.. She certainly needs to know about your feelings and how much things are bothering you... If she doesn't know then she will either continue to do it, OR... she can't change and work on what she is doing wrong, causing you to continue feeling bad or making you feel worse?!

If it were me, I might either talk with my therapist or find a new one all together if I didn't feel that they were helping me or feel as if they weren't "listening to me or my needs"... After all that is what they are there to do!

I do hope that whatever you do, or decide, that things get better for you in regards to all of this...... Also, I'm not sure if you have talked to her about your eating habits and how the stress is making you feel, but perhaps you could both continue to work toward a "plan" or put some type of plan in place that would be more beneficial to you? Have you talked with her about your eating/food concerns?

Thank you so much for taking the time to check in and let us know how things have been going for you... Please be sure to check back and keep us updated!

@PoliteOcean

My therapist knows I've had issues with food, but I haven't had the chance to tell her they're coming back because of how I feel. Basically, the issue with my therapist is that she wants me to make family therapy sessions with ny mother, but she is a very abusive and toxic person, and although I tried, I'm understanding more and more that all I want is not having to see her anymore. She can't but be toxic, and she's a huge trigger for me, for a lot of mental health conditions. Just seeing a call from her can make me swing from anxiety attacks to dissociation for the rest of the day, not to mention that abuse from her triggers my depression, nightmares, eating disorders and once it caused me an hallucination. I'm still so scared by this, I don't want it to happen again... My therapist knows this, I've told her that I don't want a relationship with her, but she sais I'm just running away and that I can't ignore that now she wants to fix things. So I'm supposed to ignore my mental health, right? I don't give a damn of what she wants now! She has done whatever she pleased with me for 20 years, I'm struggling so much to learn to care for myself and put myself first, and now you tell me I can't ignore what she wants? Hell I can!!! No, that's crazy. I'll have another talk with her and if she won't listen to me, I'll change therapist. I'm feeling like shit, I wake up not wanting to live, feeling hopeless, I can't get out of bed, I can't eat, I'm giving up on life, and all this just to please my mother? Oh, I can ignore her for sure!

I am totally hearing what you are saying here. And you are completely right. Its best that you do whatever you feel is the best decision for YOU! ... Nobody can do that for you not even a therapist (who is supposed to help you)...

From a different point of view I can probably see that your therapist might think that getting you both together will help you to be able to face your fears and triggers head on while helping you to Heal~

BUT ... she should Not force that upon you or her thoughts on that.. she is there to listen. And help to steer you in a direction that would benefit your mental health , and Not make it worse of course...

I certainly wish you the best of luck on your decision and choices that you make for yourself. Your therapist should certainly know that this is your choice and not hers or anyone else. Its certainly time for you to start feeling better about yourself and to heal in whatever way is best for you

This week I've been taking the time to improve my mental health.

My highlights have been making new friends on here and @amiablePeace31 and @soulsings mindfulness discussions. I haven't been reaching my planned goals for the month yet but I'm going to just keep at it. I want to start sleeping at reasonable hours, clean my apartment and exercise, but its a tough battle I'm having with my mental health.

For Valentine's day. I wanted to the gardens where I had my first date with my boyfriend but it was raining... so instead we found an awesome new anime to watch, ordered pizza and I had tea in the new massive mug he bought me.

Hey there Lily!

Great job to you on taking the time to improve and work on your mental health!.... Thats pretty important and something alot of us should be doing!

How nice that you have made new friends here!....

I'm glad to hear that you are going to keep working on meeting the goals that you have planned for yourself!.. .I love the list of plans that you have provided that you would like to accomplish. I know personally how challenging it can be when we are dealing with mental health concerns to get things accomplished that we want to do for ourselves.....But, the important thing is, is that you have some type of plan, and you have written down your goals here . So that is a really great step towards putting those things into action and making them happen!

Wow.. it sounds like you had a really Lovely Valentine's Day!.. I love it!... What kind of pizza did you get!?.... Sounds like you really enjoyed your day with him!...

Thank you so much for checking in this week and simply letting us know how things have been going for you! It was really lovely to hear from you! Be sure to check back and let us know how you are doing!

Hey there Mellie! Great to hear from you this week~

Despite the fact that you've been tired , seems like things are going well for you at the moment!...

Great job on trying to be more social! I know how that is, I'm not a very "social" person myself...... I try to be when I'm around others, but I'm pretty quiet until I get to know someone.... but once I do it makes it much easier... I don't let my "walls" down for just anyone... So I can understand that.

Sorry to hear that you been a little un-motivated to get to the gym. Seems like that is probably the biggest thing for people who want to work out but don't... Either they need motivation or don't have the time..... What things have motivated you in the past?.. Is there anyone who can go with you? Are there any classes that you love or enjoy?

Good for you for being able to get out with your co-workers this past week! Sounds like a nice little time with friends..... (Thats a great step there towards being "more social")!.. Keep up the great work that you are doing! And thanks for checking in this week!

This week for me was an eye-opener. I have become too sedentary, and it shows. I am quitting smoking and trying to substitute it with mindful stretching and exercise. This weather has put walking on hold, unfortunately. I don't get much time to myself for exercise because I am essentially a full-time babysitter for my sister, and I cook and clean. I just do little things when I get a spare moment, but it doesn't feel like enough. Reminding myself that gradual change is more likely to be permanent, because I usually do too much and have to dial it back, then loose motivation.

I hope everyone had a good week laugh

@optimisticDay6856

Hey there!.... So nice to see you check in this week..

Sounds like you have come to some revelations for yourself and that you've come to conclusion that its time to do something about them and perhaps try to start leading a healthier lifestyle?!......That is really great that for you that you have been able to quit smoking (which can be a Huge challenge for alot of people) ..and have found some healthier "alternatives" to help you through that! yes

I noticed that you say that you are unable to get much time for yourself since you have to watch your sister alot?... I'm not sure of her age, but are there activities that you can do "together" perhaps? There are ALOT of "sneaky" ways that you can fit in exercises!...

For instance, perhaps every time you are watching her and the T/V is on, maybe for each "commercial break", you could do a different exercise!?.. Examples can be, for one commercial, do (Squats until the commercial is over).... during the next commercial, (maybe some jumping jacks?).... (the next commercial, maybe some pushups or planks, or even tossing a ball with your sister challenging that nobody drops it?)... Or even walking up and down the stairs?!.... Lots of "sneaky" ways wink

Also.. Don't forget, "Cleaning" around the house counts as exercise too!!... (Which is something you say you are doing already!) yes And it ALL counts! Every last movement, every little step!... You could actually be moving "more" in your day just doing things around your house and caring for your sister than someone who exercises for an hour every day!?

You are doing great, remember every small step or changes counts towards something bigger and better in your healthy living journey! You've got this! Keep going and don't give up. Thank you so much for checking in this week and letting us know how you've been doing. Please be sure to check back each week and let us know how things are going for you!

**Hello Everybody!.. How have you all been doing this past week? Mixed really. I spent about equal parts of the week down and hermiting.. sleeping.. instead of facing Valentines Day.

**We are officially "HALF-WAY" Through February already!?.... What have been some highlights or goals that you feel good about or accomplished so far this month? I feel good about getting on a payment plan with my last creditor and getting my phone replaced. I feel good about returning items to the library after being snowed in about a week and mailing an item out to DSHS to see if I can still get medical.

**What are some things you feel you could be doing better at or still need to work on? What steps will you take to work on that?

I really need to work on not isolating and withdrawing and totally losing all my routines when some of these days come around. I don't know, just be aware and not cut myself as much slack, I guess.

**How many of you actually celebrated Valentine's Day and what did you eventually end up doing this day? Were you able to stay on track with treats or temptations? I slept 2-3 days straight rather than face it, so I don't think I won or stayed on track.

**This will be a "Long Holiday Weekend" in the USA for "Presidents" day! How many of you will be off and what are your weekend plans? I will be watching K-Dramas and reading over the weekend.

**What have been your "highlights" this past week? My highlight was hearing from the phone company that they would replace it in 7-10 days, even though everything on the website basically said I was SOL.

Hey there...

Sorry to hear that Valentines Day is not a good day for you......On a more positive note... Its really great that you were able to get things situated with your creditor as well as getting some things done for yourself that you wanted to do.

Its good to see that you acknowledge some things that you want to work on for yourself and that you need to be able to cut yourself some slack.... We are always hardest on ourselves it seems. I hear we are our own worst critics.

Its great for you that you got things taken care of regarding your phone.. I know it can be challenging to be without one. I'd probably be lost without mine, I use mine to keep me on track each day.... My head could never hold all the things that I need to do or take care of on a day to day basis~

Thanks for checking in this week and letting us know how you've been doing~
