**This past week has been both well, AND "Quick"... I swear, it was just the weekend, and now its the weekend again... Another week done and gone~......The past week has been well for the most part. Continued to stay on track with Eating, water and activity. Sleep wasn't too bad~
ONE great thing that happened this week was that I Got the "RESULTS" Back from that "Lab" in New York where I had sent off hair-samples to test for Sensitivites and Intolerances!... WOW.. it was such a "detailed" report. They really test for a lot of stuff. Depending on which test you pay for. Basically for the most part, everything checked out great! I have NO sensitivites or intolerances to Any of the Foods that I actually like or eat on a regular basis! lol... Whew~~!
.... (My precise intolerances were to "Pears, Lentils Peppers, Walnuts, Radishes.... & Coconut (Which I LOVE)) But the rest I could care less about since I Don't eat them..... They also tested for Chemical, Enviromental, Nutritional & Vitamin Deficiencies, Metal Sensitivies and Metabolic panel!... It was VERY Thorough! Bascially to "Sum" up those, I found that I am Low in "Cortisol" (the belly fat hormone; usually when this is "high" you tend to have or carry more Belly Fat)... Mine was "low".. so not sure what to do with that information just yet~.. and I was Vitamin B12 Deficient!?? Which these two shocked me the most~ I take Vitamins almost daily I usually miss Saturdays (My lazy day).. so I was surprised about the B12... Will have to discuss the "Low Cortisol" with my physician at some point.... But all other Hormones and Enviromental/Chemical factors etc... tested within range. ~
**After getting these results, it offered me a chance to "UPGRADE" the test and get a DNA panel done showing what type of "Nutrition and Workouts &Lifestyle strategies" would go well with "my" genetic make-up!! And what would be most effective.. So I said HECK YEAH!! SIGN ME UP PLEASE!
Lololo.... So Now I have to wait another 5-7 days for those to come in. I'm so excited to see the results! I even got my Mom to purchase one for herself as well she was so impressed by it.
**My knee has been bothering me this past week, rather pained by it... but I managed to teach all my classes, sub one, & get my dog out for his walk and playtime in the sunshine~ Its supposed to rain here this weekend and turn Incredibly colder!.... Today is my "Rest" Day, I was supposed to go to a Zumba-Thon today with "MY" Favorite instructor, but, decided to give my knee a rest and get things done around the house~ At least thats where my head is at this moment.~
MY TIP: ENJOY YOUR WEEKEND EVERYONE (Take time for yourself, and enjoy it to the fullest)!
@PoliteOcean
Hiya, Ocean! Glad to hear the week has gone fast and well! Well done on keeping on track with your health, sleep is getting better it sounds! And wow, those results! I really want one too now xD isnt low cortisol good?? Hahaha cant wait to hear about the next results next week!
Thats not good to hear your knee hasnt been well though- if I remember correctly, you had issues with it before too??? What has your doc said about treating it/ do you know why its been painful? Hope it heals better soon, and a good idea to skip it. Youll always have another chance to be taught by your favourite instructor! Better treat your knee well first, otherwise itll get worse probably later down the track.
Take care of yourself! xx Hope next week you get more of a chance to rest your knee if need be (and not sub for others! :p)
@rebecca947
Hey Rebecca!
Yes "low" cortisol is good, unless its "under the range" its supposed to be in....Which according to this test, my might be. But I'm not sure why.. It could be my sleep or stessors etc... Not really certain since the test can't really tell you that part.
I haven't been to be seen about my knee, as its just something that came and went before in the past...so prayerfully, this will pass too as well. But thank you!..
Yes I did decide to skip the Zumbathon... I really think if it wasn't for wanting to get more sleep and my knee issue , that I would have went and been there... And yes, I do plan to rest my knee as much or as often as I am able to.
@PoliteOcean
Cortisol is the stress hormone. Low levels can actually be a good thing. Ask to a doctor obviously. Physical execise increases it while you're eercising, but lowers it later, so if you are a very active person, you should have it lower (not too low, see a doctor). Its level is also variable I guess, because cortisol should be released in response to a stessor, and then go back to normal when the danger is gone. It's an adaptive response. Instead, in modern life, where the stress factors are protracted over time, cortisol response sometimes is continuous, and our body didn't evolve for this. What's the problem with all this? Cortisol controls, in our body, the activity that is related to its "alert level", let's call it so. If it's high, the body prepares to face a danger: fight-flight response. It will concentrate all his resources to keep vital organs at the top, at the espenses of functions that are less essential to physically face a danger, such as digestion (intense exercise right after you ate is not a good idea) or the synthesis of proteins (muscles) and collagen (bones -osteoporosis- and skin -premature aging-). In anticipation of a fight or a flight, cortisol increases the levels of sugar in the blood, because with physical effort, you're supposed to need it. Nowadays, or stressors almost never require us to do physical efforts, so that sugar keeps running in our blood, exactly as if we were eating an extremely unhealthy amount of sugar in our diet, and cause us heart diseases, cardiovascular issues or diabetes in the long term. So, exercise can proof to be very beneficial to keep us healthy, especially if we are stressed. Also, high cortisol levels have been proven to damage neural connections especially in memory areas. Nothing irreversible, but still
I've studied these things, but I didn't revise them before writing, so they might be inaccurate in some points.
For vitamine B12... are you vegan? Because it's NOT syntesised by plants, and can only be found in meat, chees and red of eggs, and it's pretty vital. It's called "the energy vitamine" because it has a role in letting you assimilate what you eat and make use of it. It's implied in protein, nervous tissue, carbohydrate and fats methabolism, in red blood cells synthesis (you could end up being anemic, without a proper supply), it's essential also for other vitamines and iron to be assimilated. In a vegan diet, it has to be introducted with specific b12 supplements, because it's needed in quantity and more lacking than any other vitamine. A fun thing, is that it's synthesis is only made by bacteria that feed on meat, eggs and chees (the more aged it is, the better). They also feed on vegetables, but you really have to wash them before eating them, so bye bye deadly illnesses and vitamin b12 as well ahahaha It might also be contained in some algae, but science's not sure we can assimilate it in that form, so I'd go for meat, cheese or supplements.
Sorry if I may suond like a smart aleck, just tell me if I'm annoying, this wasn't the purpose, and I'd stop immediately XD I'm interested in those things and I like to look for infos, but don't take what I wrote too seriously: I have no degree and I'm not a doctor. I just thought you might like to have a base idea of what those altered values were and what they did
@GhostlyLilian
Hey Lilian! Thank you very much for your very "detailed" response!
The test itself really didn't state much about the "range" that they fell in but only that the cortisol was "Low" (meaning lower than it should be I'm guessing) but I don't know how much out of range... I've read that Stressors or even lack of sleep can cause this to happen as well?!... So I certainly do have some issues with Stressors and Lack of sleep. And should certainly develop better sleep habits! I will however discuss with my physician when I have the chance.
As far as the VIT. B12 , I'm certainly not Vegan. I just try to eat healthy and do incorporate lean meats like Chicken, Fish and eggs. And I do "love" my "cheese"! lol...
But no worries about your responses... I really Love that you took the time to reply to me with so much information!! That was VERY kind of you to do so! And I really appreciate your well thought-out response!
I will continue to do a little research as well as I've been doing until my next Physician's visit for my annual physical~ I will take my results with me when I go and see what they say as well. And perhaps get a test ran on those few things mentioned!
Thanks so much again! Very appreciated!
@PoliteOcean Hi there, Ocean!
It's glad to hear that the week went well for you! And I agree that it was fast, it was fast for me, too! Probably because I am too preoccupied with work and volunteer work. :) But it's great that you are on track with healthy activities, I hope that it will be like that for you for next week, too.
Woah, those are interesting lab tests! Maybe I should get one, too? That would give me an insight of my health and what I should eat more or less. I love coconut, too! So I think that's the kinda sad part. :( It's great that you have low belly fat, and I wish that you can discover a way to intake and absorb much more Vitamin B12 in your body! It's important to have essential vitamins. :) The lab test results are very informative, indeed.
You have great options when it comes to DNA and lab tests where you are, I see! That's very interesting! Let us know how it goes, if that's alright with you. :)
I'm sorry that your knees hurt, that must have sucked. :( But good job for you for doing all the things you had to do! But yes, rest days are important, it is indeed a great way not just for your knees but for your overall being. :) I hope your rest day went well!
Please pet your doggo for me xx
@BunnieLuv
Hey Bunnie!....
Thank you for the reply!.. Its so nice to have you here joining us this week!
Yes the lab results were pretty informative and I can't wait until I get the rest of the other results as well!.. I'm excited for them.
If I could get "everyone" to do this test I would! lol.... I will surely keep you all informed on how the rest of it goes!....
I totally agree that rest days are so important! And thats exactly what I did today... I really didn't do much of anything except for a little bit of laundry~ lol.. But I'm ok with that! The more I can rest my body the better. And thank you!!
I certainly hope that you do the same and find time for yourself between all of your working and volunteer work as well!... We ALL need rest days for sure!
And I will surely tell my doggo that you said hello and give him a little pat for ya'!
@PoliteOcean I wouldn't take the hair sample information in isolation.
It's good for long-term amounts for certain things, such as heavy metal poisoning over a period of time. I have never heard it being used to test for cortisol, although that doesn't mean it can't. Probably worthwhile getting a vitamin B12 blood test as if you are deficient supplementing now can help prevent future problems.
Unfortunately there are very few reliable food intolerance tests, with the exception of things like biopsies for celiac disease, it's mostly elimination diets that are the best tests.
@PoliteOcean
Heya, Ocean! Its been alright I guess- its been a bit of a whirlwind to be honest. My mood has gone up and down, and Ive been as well as you can be when youre surrounded by an extreme heatwave xD 40+ C every day until today. And I dont have aircon at home or at work, so thats great! Everyone at work has started bringing their own mini fans, and I did that too yesterday. My fan only worked for 2.5hrs though out of the 5hrs I was working, so that wasnt great. Yesterday I was already tired, and add the heat and the aircon STILL not working, it wasnt good yesterday lol also I fell asleep on the bus back home and missed my stop, so that was an even better day xD
Hmm, biggest highlights. The biggest highlight would have to be receiving results of my application for uni and having it approved. Whats made me the most grateful or proud of myself? Uhhh... nothing much has been happening this January lol maybe having finished 5 weeks of revising for uni? I dont know.
One thing this week that was mainly affected by the heat was drinking LOTS of water everyday lol I have to talk a lot at work, so that and the heat made me want water so much more.
One healthy tip that has helped me is to have healthy things out in plain sight for you and to hide the unhealthy things out of sight. Out of sight, out of mind ;) I like to put water glasses or bottles in places that I often am, and to place healthy snacks at the front of the pantry and unhealthy ones at the back on the bottom.
Weekend plans- its Saturday here and I didnt have work today. So I practiced for a test I have on soon, and I want to finish one or two more weeks of uni revision. I also made my preferences plan for uni times and days, so come Monday 9am, I can go on the site nice and early and choose my wants! Its not a first come first serve basis, but I like to stress myself less by choosing early before I see the high percentages of people who chose my preference :p when you see that 154% for one of your classes, thats stressful as you know you have less of a chance of getting it!!!
Hope you have a good day, everyone xx
@rebecca947 Hi rebecca, surprise surprise, I joined here! <3
The heatwave really adds up to the mood, no? I better stock up on ice buckets for you! :P It must have been very uncomfortable for you, being in that situation and stuff. I don't like too much heat. But personally, I like January weather where I am. It's sunny, but not hot--thanks to the cold breeze. I wish the weather becomes more comfortable for you soon <3
Congratulations on your application for uni! Wow, that's big! I wish you luck for more uni requirements!
Staying hydrated during this season is very important--yes, yes drink up! <3 Putting water bottles and healthy snacks is indeed a good way to stay healthy, the first thing you see is the first thing that will get your attention, so that's great. :) What healthy food do you snack on, if I may ask?
I hope your uni requirements will be finished soon and that you finish it with flying colors xx
@BunnieLuv
aye! So glad to find you here! :D thank you, I
@rebecca947
Hey there Rebecca!...
Wow! Sounds like you are really having a "HEATWAVE"! I had to actually "convert" your temp reading since we go by "Fahrenheit" here!...Thats pretty dang hot!!... I can barely function on days like that, unless I'm in the "pool"! lol... And if its 'that" hot, then that is where I can be found! lol...Oh my.. I hope that it eventually starts to cool off for you!... But.. as you stated the one good thing is that it helped you to get your water in!.. Thats the biggest thing for me as well during the summer months, is chugging down all the water! lol...
Congrats to you on having your application approved! Way to go!
I love your health tip of Putting out Healthy Things so that you have them to "go to" and that they will be in reach!... and to NOT keep un-healthier things around or out of sight, so that will make it easier to not reach for them when you are hungry (or even bored)!... Great job!.. The first thing is "planning" ahead when you can, and that sounds like a great plan to have! Great tip! And thank you for sharing it!
Also good luck on getting up early and getting a start on choosing what your "preferences"! I remember having to do that once upon a time... Its so nice to just get it done and out of the way and to know that you have gotten your desired choices in and approved and then thats one less thing to stress about! lol... Good luck to you on getting it all done!
Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend ahead!
I'm ill
anyway, I dindn't stay awake until late this week, but then I slept too much, like all morning, and one day I had nothing to do, I stayed in bed until 5:30 PM. I suspect that's also because the only computer game I had to make me forget I'm alive crushed and the files were corrupted, and it doesn't work anymore. It can be a positive thing, because it would mean I'll no longer have the possibility to spend all freakin'day in front of it, that's why I didn't install it again. It's also true that I get addicted to it only when things are so bad that I wouldn't be able to do anything anyway. Otherwise I'm perfectly capable to play like 5 hours, not forgetting to eat, then leave it for 3/4 days or also weeks without problems. The fact I don't have it anymore makes me more anxious, because if I wake up, then I can't handle the day, what will I do? I Can only sleep. So I'm more afraid to wake up, and if I feel bad, I go back to sleep. Then I have nightmares, but at least they're just dreams.
Besides sleep issues, when I'm awake I eat decently most of the times. Only once I ate biscuits for lunch. Yesterday I tried to exercise outside and I got a cold -.-" house chores... The bare minimum. The mess is always there, but at least it doesn't increase.
@GhostlyLilian Hi Lilian! Nice to see you in here!
Sorry to hear that you are sick, being sick really sucks. :( Computer games can really be addicting, I can speak so for myself. But yes, it can be a way for you to try on other fruitful things, during the day yeah? :) But don't push yourself too hard. I'm sorry that losing it has left you so anxious, it is very understandable. After all, it give you a way to go throughout the day. And having nightmares can be very scary! (Hugs if wanted :( <3) It's still great that you push yourself to do things--like chores and exercise even just to the bare minimum--but I'm sorry that you had a cold because of it. Take care and I wish you get well soon! <3
@BunnieLuv
Thanks for your reply bunny, and for the hugs
The cold is still lasting, but after some positive events my mood improved and I was able to dedicate to my hobbies again, and now I'm really doing all that I can to keep the mood up, and to make use of the litte extra energy I'm feeling. It's been years since I made use of my creativity, it's been silent for so long!
@GhostlyLilian
Hey there again Lilian!...
So sorry to hear that you aren't feeling well
And that you are dealing with such an emotional and challenging time right now... Just know that we are here for you! And theres plenty of us listener here to chat with as well if you are feeling "lonely" or that you just having a difficult time coping when you are awake...
I know when I first came to 7cups and had the most difficult time sleeping, I would just come here and chat and it would pass the time as well and help make things to feel somewhat better. Which was even more helpful when I became a "listener" and listened to others problems here as well. It was rather calming and therapeutic to listen to someone else's issues. It helped me to put things into more perspective for myself sometimes as well. And it helped pass the time.
Perhaps even making a list of things that you do like to do, or find calming can help you as well.... and then you can start doing the list one by one until you start to feel calmer or feel better.... Whether its a house hold chore, watching (Or even just simply leaving the TV on for a little bit of noise) so that it helps you to feel like you aren't completely alone all day, might help as well.
Another thing that truly helped me was getting a pet... Pets can give us a "purpose" in our day, and a reason to get up and do things b/c I knew we then have someone else to concentrate on someone to take care of besides ourselves!...
Awesome job for you in attempting to do your best to try and eat healthier despite not feeling the best....Every little step helps and can lead to even bigger steps! And great job on your attempt at exercising....Just take "day by day", and "moment by moment"... Thats all we can do. You don't have to be perfect at it... as long as you start somewhere thats all that matters!...
We are here for you! Thank you so much for checking in this week and letting us know how things have been going for you! Be sure to keep checking in to let us know how you are doing and to vent if you need. We are here to listen
@PoliteOcean
Well, when I feel bad it's usually a spiral, because my thing is sense of guilt and thinking I have to punish myself because I did things wrong, and until I won't learn to do them right, I don't deserve doing things for myself, and since, in my head, everyone would think the same way, it would be also disrespectful and selfish. I don't know if it makes sense. So when I feel bad, doing something that would make me feel good, makes me feel worse. I feel disgusted with it, with myself, I feel ashamed, guillty, a storm of emotion starts and it can last for days.
But I can't do house chores because I can't be present to myself. I already have a pet (meow), and I feel so selfish ignoring him most of the day. I try to keep up with his base needs, I never left him without food or water and if he's ill I bring him to the vet, but sometimes I delay litter cleaning. I play with him at least once per day, and when he jumps on the chair with me I cuddle him, but I would like to be more present for him
So usually, when I'm feeling bad, I desperately try to be kind to myself, with few results, and I look for positive triggers that could enhance my mood or self esteem a little, like talking with listeners, listening to people (I'm also a listener, but if I'm too anxious or emotional I avoid the listener profile, because the last thing I want is my problems sneaking into the chat). Then I try to hang out with friends and, although hard, the only kind thing I can do for myself when I feel that way (because I decided that food had to be cut out from my list of possible punishments) is thinking about what I would like to eat for lunch, or dinner, and put all my efforts in trying to cook it. And if I manage, it already feels like a victory.
Anyway, an unexpected positive trigger happened, and I started to feel better, so I could start enjoying some of my hobbies again. It didn't happen in years. I tried with other hobbies, I have lots of them, but those two, the most aimed and most problematic two, it's been years from the last time I did them. And it feels so good being able to enjoy them again!
They'd be literature (reading and writing) and art (drawing and other art-crafts).
I'm really trying not to loose this again, I don't know how much it will last
Busy week but trying to stay on track. I thought I finally got away from the holiday eating mode. I guess the cold weather increase your appetite. Doing a fairly good job of healthy snacks. No cookies or sugar type snacks. Trying to keep food intake at moderate levels. I know my diet is more healthy than last year. I did finally step on a scale and weight gain was 2-3 pounds over the holidays. Keeping up with exercise which helps and work hard on eating a healthy diet. Looking forward to warmer weather which keeps me very active. I think on on the right track for exercise and healthy eating. Glad to hear your tests went well. I am a big fan of water exercise which is low stress on body. If you have an indoor pool nearby, its a good choice for low stress exercise when your body needs a rest from land exercise. Enjoy your weekend.
@sail46 Hi there, sail! It's nice to see you in here!
Ahhh, busy week. It might be possible that you are overwhelmed or tired, yes? Do you think it's also possible that being busy also makes you want to eat more? With regards to the holiday eating mode? I can't blame you, holiday food is yum! But great job for sticking to a healthier diet than last year! That is an accomplishment. And exercising, too! Not anybody can do all of that, so I am proud of you!
Don't forget to stay hydrated, eat well and sleep enough hours at night!
@sail46
Hey Sail!
Sorry to hear that the winter is trying to get the best of your "healthier eating habits"... I know how challenging that is.. Today was one of those "hibernation" days here (dark, dreary, rainy, etc....) and all you want to do is "Eat"
.... But its great that you are staying on track with those healthy snacks! I was going to step on the scale this week as well, (which would be the 'first' time this year) but... I thought I maybe I will give myself just "one" more week!.... lol.. But I'm like you, I know for a fact that I am doing MUCH better this year than I was at this time last year!
At least now you know where you stand, and what you need to do to keep moving forward and staying on track....I know the warmer weather helps me to stay on track as well... and I'm looking very forward to it for sure. I personally LOVE to swim and do water aerobics myself. Water activity is so great. I can't wait to get back to some pool time myself. There are a few local "indoor" pools around, but... they are on the "other" side of town. Which is a little inconveinent with all the other things that go on in my day. For now I guess I will continue counting down the days until outdoor pool season!
Its great that you are continuing to stay on track for yourself despite whatever challenges and temptations are trying to stand in your way right now. I have no doubt that you will continue to do so! Keep going and thank you for continuing to "inspire" me as well to stay on track!
Thanks for checking in this week and letting us know how things are going for you! Take care!
@PoliteOcean I am glad you got your test results back. It sounds very interesting!
My week was ok with eating but I missed several days of my regular exercise due to snow and other factors. I did get a nice walk yesterday at the park. I am off on Monday and hope to go to a park I haven't been to before. Nothing else to report - uneventful week!
@SadMe70 Hi there, it's nice to see you here! <3
Sorry to hear that you weren't able to do regular exercise due to the weather and other things, and that it has been an uneventful week for you. :( I really do hope next week will be different, and better! :)
It's nice to know though that you were able to eat well and that you had a nice walk in the park. Goodluck on Monday, and I really do hope you enjoy the next days to come. <3
See you around xx
@BunnieLuv Thank you!
I haven't been all that sore since working out late last week but I have been totally exhausted. Also experiencing a bit more paraesthesia plus some other weird sensations which are likely connected. Things like my limbs feeling incredibly heavy, especially after waking be it a nap or when I wake up to start the day.
Since I don't feel like I really overdid it with working out - I did take it easy and the amount of soreness I felt from it was quite limited I think it's just a matter of feeling super fatigued after working out until I can get this to ease up again.
I have a bunch of tests for life insurance this week, I'm a bit worried as if I am denied it's just going to make it more difficult in the future. I also feel like with my history it might be difficult to answers the questions correctly for their criteria.
@AffyAvo Hi, Affy! It's nice to see you here this week. <3
I'm sorry that you were feeling exhausted and that you were experiencing paraesthesia and other weird sensations these past days--I do wish that the following week will be more bearable for you so that it would be a nice one. :) It's my first time hearing what paraesthesia is, so I guess I gotta research more on that.
I think taking workouts easily sometimes are also important alongside regular and hardcore ones, it may serve as a version of your body getting breaks with physical efforts sometimes... Sorry though that you are still experiencing fatigue, even so. :(
I wish you goodluck with the tests for life insurance this week! Would it be okay to ask what kind of tests they are? If not, it's alright. I hope that it will turn out as you expect it to be!
Take care always xx
@BunnieLuv I'm not entirely sure of the tests. Blood pressure and cholesterol are likely, I don't even know if they will inform me of everything they run or not.
@BunnieLuv I wasn't able to find out the tests. The person would have told me but she was already way late for her next appointment because my stuff is more complicated than most people. We were jumping back and forth all over the forms and she kept running out of space.
@AffyAvo Sorry to hear that Affy :( You knowing about the test may have to wait a little bit longer :( But will it be possible for you to come back and know about it soon? <3
@AffyAvo
Affy I hope that you are doing and feeling at least somewhat better than you were... and that some of those feelings and sensations have subsided some?...
Please keep us informed on how the Life Insurance thing goes. I'm sure that will be quite challenging and interesting dealing with all of their questions especially in Chronic conditions etc..etc.. I'd be interested in hearing what they had to say or tell you or how they decide to proceed with things!
Thank you for checking in and just continuing to keep us up to date and informed on how things have been going.
@PoliteOcean Yeah, the tingles and heaviness feeling is still happening, but not as bad.
I should find out if I'm approved soon. My husband was the one who did the initial bit, as he's getting disaiblity insurance too. I didn't find out until now (we passed on the HAE information ahead of time to find out if I would even be eligible based on that), the companies that would insure me doubled the rate just based on that.
@PoliteOcean I've been to the doctor 17 times in the past 8 months and I'm still not on the right medication routine. One problem is since I'm a chronic pain patient, it takes me a lot longer to get things done. People say if you want to get something done, make it a priority. Well, I can't make everything a priority. I went to the lab and submitted a blood sample for a cortisol test. I'll know the results in about a week. One thing I've been doing for myself lately is making home made bone broth. If I drink 8 oz every day I'm hoping to see spectatular results after maybe 1-3 months. I recently got additional funding for more treatments, so I'm excited about that.
@Regmo Hi, Regmo, it's so nice to see you here! <3
It must've been a long wait for you after going to the doctor several times and still not being on the right medication routine... I can only imagine the patience you had to have. I wish the following days will be a little bit bearable everyday for you though, and I hope that you'll get on the right medication soon. :) I wish the results for tests will come back alright, too. <3
Mmmm, bone broth! Is it okay to ask what is it with the bone broth that makes it healthy? :) That's really great of you to do it on your own, I am proud of you! I do hope that it will be helpful for your health. And congratulations for the additional funding for treatments, that is a very big help!
Take care always, Regmo xx
@BunnieLuv Thank you so much for your kind words BunnieLuv. Bone broth is healthy because when vinegar is added, it helps to release nutrients from the bone marrow. There are additional nutrients that come from cooking the connective tissue of the bones. It talks about 8-12 hours to make a good batch. People frequently take as long as 24-48 hours but I don't feel safe doing that. It's good for people with joint problems and muscle tissue, like your truly. Thanks BunnieLuv XXX
@Regmo Ahh I see. Bone broth does sound like a good idea for you! <3 Woah--that is cooked for that long?! So much patience! I am amazed. Of course, we need the bestest broths for Regmo. :) I think cooking bone broths are done too, where I am from but maybe my family rarely does it since it can be tedious :x But yay for you, let me know how it goes and if it affects your health nicely, alright? <3 Take care xx
@Regmo
I'm so sorry that you are dealing with so many challenges... I do hope that things will start to get easier for you in some areas and start to come together. I'm sure dealing with the pain is not easy by any means.
What exactly are they testing the Cortisol levels for? What do they hope this test will tell you?
Please keep us up to date on how things go with the "Bone Broth"! I would love to hear more about it and how your results are!..
Thank you so much for checking in this week Regmo and letting us know how things have been going for you. Its always great to hear from you! Thank you again~ Please continue to check back and let us know how things are continuing along for you!
*How is everyone doing this week?! Good
**I can't believe we are "almost" done with January?! What have been some your biggest highlights over this past month? What has made you the most grateful or even "Proud" of yourself? What has gone well for you?
Just the kindness of strangers has made me the most grateful. The woman giving me a ride to the church breakfast at a restaurant was ll concerned that I might not have shoes I need (which I do) and a homeless man from yestedrday asked me how my day was going becaue I was huffing and puffing from walking uphill and just wanted to make sure I was okay.
I'm proud that I've been making my appointments and for the most part, my paperwork deadlines. I made it to access appt at my BHO today. My biggest highlights are making pie, eating lots of good food, playing board games with cousins and doing my best to sever ties with my last ex.. I have ID for the first time in over two years... I just have to figure out some way to satisfy spenddown. My dog is loving her new home too.
**Can you name "ONE" thing from this past week that you did for your "Overall" well-being that made you feel good?! What was it? I started using the couch to sleep on, its easier on my knees..
**What is "ONE" Healthy tip OR... words of motivation that you could share this week with others that has helped you physically, mentally or emotionally?! "I want to see what happens when I don't give up" --Unknown
My weekend plans are to go to a farewell Potluck on Sunday.
@berryfields2409 Hi, it's nice to see you here, and I'm glad to hear that you're doing good. <3
I believe that kindness goes a long way, and sometimes it melts the heart when you receive it from unexpected people, right? :) A lot of people don't trust strangers for understandable reasons but sometimes small acts of kindness makes you believe in humanity again. The woman who gave you a ride was very nice for her to give you a lift and be concerned about you, as well as the homeless man that wondered how your day was going. It just proves to show that kindness do not need anything, aside from compassion. <3 I'm so happy that you were able to cross roads with these people. :)
Congratulations to you for such a productive week! Some parts of your week can be fun (like cooking pie and being with your cousins) and can also be challenging (work, appointments and the one with your ex) but you made it through and I am so proud of you! <3 Oh, and I love dogs, if it will be alright, can you please pet your doggo for me? :)
I hope that your knee feels better for you for the next days, it's great that the couch helped for you. :)
I also really like that quote, it makes me feel like there's something to push through because there are so many possibilities of what will happen if I don't give up. <3 Have fun for the next days and oh! Potlucks are great! Enjoy xx <3
