**This past week has gone well, yet another "BLINK AND YOU MISSED IT"-Type of week!.. I don't know what is going on or why the weeks just seem to be flying by so fast lately!?.... Its like "Sheeeeeshh" SLOW DOWN Summer!!.......I kept up with all my usual things, Workouts, eating well, Teaching my Zumba and Pound Classes, .... I got behind a little on water and sleep again this past week, but.... guess I will continue to strive to meet those goals a little better. I know what I need to do and work on.
**I made the Two ingredient dough again last week, and tried an even DEEPER Dish to make my Deep Dish pizza by using a smaller, deeper Casserole dish... Wasn't as good as the first one I made and could be b/c the fillings kept falling apart lol..., so going to attempt to do it again the way I did the first time which was in the regular Pie Pan. I am really having fun with this dough, and I find it to be very "filling" which has helped with Appetite as well!
**The only way for me to "Sum" up the month of July is to say it was "Way faster" than I wish it would have gone. And I feel like I'm staring down the "barrel of FALL" already. So I've been trying to get all those last little bits of Summer activity and Swim-Time in!
....
**This past week, I used my advantage as a ZUMBA Instructor and signed up for a New Certification that I've been wanting to do for a couple of years now... Zumba offers us a "Discount" on this particular course... And that is to officially study and take the Test to become a "Certified Group Exercise Instructor" through AFAA...... .Once I manage to do that and get that completed, I would love to finish completing my "personal" goals and perhaps move forward to take the test to become a "Personal Trainer"!... I don't know that or if I would do anything with it, or not, but its a personal goal of mine to do it and complete it. lol...... I'll be one of those people with like 50-million "degrees" and not use them. Hahaha...
....But in all seriousness, I have utilized every license I have completed... this is just another step in the game as well.
**Today is the Bi-Monthly POUND class, so, my intentions are to go there and get some activity in for the day and then relax with some good movies and 2-ingredient dough and enjoy the continuing warm weather!
**ENJOY YOUR WEEKEND EVERYONE~ ![]()
@PoliteOcean
Hey Ocean! :D
Hahaha thats the curse of summer- it flies by so fast and before you know it, the drag of winter has arrived upon you! Its awesome how reflective you are, and know whats going well and how to improve on things that arent going the way you want them to go.
Hmm, Ive always been curious but whats the difference between normal pizza and a deep dish pizza? Is it literally what it sounds like?! xD wow, I really need to try the two ingredient dough... is it relatively quick and easy to make, or does it take time, so you reckon?
Ooh, congratulations for signing up for another new certification! My opinion is that its better to have more in case you ever want or need to use them for later jobs ;) plus, it just sounds like youre passionate, having so many degrees haha its so good that youve used every licence you have though- youre really in it because of your passion more than anything else. The licences just allow you to continue to do what you love, which is so amazing! Im curious- are you taking the courses through an institution or a college or something?
I hope you have a great time at the POUND fitness class today! And chilling with good movies sounds awesome- enjoy! And have a great weekend and week ahead :) xx
@rebecca947
Hey Rebecca!
Yep.. thats the sad part... Summer has always lasted only so long, but then Winter just wants to "draaaggggg" out lol.... I remember when I was a kid, it seemed like Summers lasted forever!... And its like the older you get the faster time seems to go~
The Two-ingredient dough really is relatively pretty easy to make, just yogurt and flour... and season it as you wish to make whatever you plan for it.. Just use some cooking spray on your hands to keep them from sticking too much.... and a "Floured" surface to "knead the dough"....so that it doesn't stick to anything... and keep adding as needed until its formed...... And YES.. The DEEP Dish is exactly what it sounds like! Lol... Its like a super extra DEEP Crust, so that means you get a thicker, deeper crust, AND... you can "fill" it with toppings, rather than just adding them on top!.... Google this place here, I've always wanted to try this place and never got the chance to during my vacations/travels to Orlando, Florida (And I think they are in Chicago, Ill. as well)..... but... this place is FAMOUS for their Deep Dish... Giordano's https://giordanos.com/
Not exactly the Healthiest pizza Im' sure!.. Another reason, Why I make my own with the Two-ingredient dough and of course modify healthier ingredients! lol.... But.. doesn't it "look" amazing lolol.... This is why it can be very challenging to Eat healthy for alot of people.... but there's ALWAYS ways to modify!
Also, the certification that I am doing is through AFAA... Its the The Aerobics and Fitness Association of America a fitness education company.... (AFAA has issued 350000+ certification in 73 countries, providing trainers with Group Fitness Certifications and fitness education) for over 30+years.... Bascially alot of gyms require you to have this if you want to teach there etc... to show that you are a qualified Group Instructor or Personal Trainer... Some don't require it, but it surely makes you a much more qualified instructor with alot more Knowledge..... I already have alot of the knowledge from being a nurse.. but this of course is different....And thank you for the "Congrats and the Vote of confidence!"...lol.. I have like 6 months to complete studying and testing... I hope I will not need that full amount of time.
@PoliteOcean
Oh my, what you wrote reminded me of a short film I chose to study for high school! Its called The Eagleman Stag on YouTube, and there was this one scene where I think they talked about how time drags on when youre a kid but goes by so fast when you grow older... wow! Bringing back so many memories haha
Ooh, the deep dish pizza sounds amazing then! Also, that name sounded very familiar... until I realised that Giordano is a brand 🤣 just one letter difference makes a big difference :p is Giordanos only in two places? :o
Thats very true- theres always ways to modify things! Whether it be good, clothing, exercises... anything!
Wow, the AFAA sounds really good! And yay for prior knowledge xD and the ability to link nursing in with Group Instructors and PTs! Thats so cool haha ooh, 6 months! Im sure youll smash it, but good luck! :D xx
@PoliteOcean ...
Omg!!! I am totally with you...July just zoomed by, tho I'm not a fan of this desert heat, I do like having this summer break. and like you, I gotta continue on to meet my mini goals I have set for myself.
Could I please have your recipe on your deep dish pizza casserole, I love pizza and maybe if I can make a healthier version I can indulge lol
I still have that 'itch' to become ZIN, I may do that as a reward for loosing this weight again. Or maybe be a certified instructor to a Hip Hop class or something dance related. I did want to be ZIN many moons ago, first to be able to go to the conferences, learn new moves and go shopping lol but things faltered...will be back there some day.
I still have yet to catch a pound class...work gets in the way of this :'( hopefully soon. I watch vids on YouTube and I have tried a lol but I know it's better in a class. I will update you all when I FINALLY make it to a class hahaha
@Keola
Oh I'm glad you saw the recipe... (just remember to use "Equal" parts of Flour and the FAGE yogurt (or any yogurt that is more on the dense side if you don't have FAGE brand near you!)... try to start with 1/4 to 1/2 cup of each and Mold it as you go!.... whether you are making the Deep dish or just a regular crust. Season it as you want or need (Salt, garlic, pepper etc.... or you can even add stuff to it as well if you like, like Parmesean or cheese, or Jalepenos etc..etc...)
Just be sure to bake it a little bit for about 5-10 minutes to get it to rise and bake a little before adding sauce or toppings and then cook it again...until it browns.....
And Thats awesome that you have thought about becoming a ZIN!!!.. YOU absolutely should consider it! Make it a goal for yourself! Even if you never decide to teach, as you stated, it will be a goal, something you accomplished for yourself! A "reward"!.... And yes EVERY instructor MUST, MUST, MUST do the Convention in Orlando at least "ONCE" in their Zumba career!..... Its an experience like NO OTHER!... Just AMAZING!!... You can do it! The only thing that holds you back is "you"... I know you can do it, (if you want to of course! No pressure! lolololol)
And yes, the POUND classes are much better in person... I tried to do the videos myself when I first started, but just couldn't get myself into it the same way lol... But yes, you must try it in person, and let me know what you think!?!! Keep me updated girl!!
@PoliteOcean ... oppsie, just saw your recipe...sorry i didnt look ahead before replying 🙈
@PoliteOcean
Hey, Ocean! This week has been good :) I walked our dog a few times today, including today! The weather is so lovely outside, its sunny but windy, which feels like a spring day. Im not hot, but Im not cold- its a nice medium. We also managed to watch a few local soccer games that were going on, and a family practicing cricket! There were so many dogs around that wanted to play with our dog, and vice versa. Im sure our dog got all the attention he wanted xD I walked with my sister and we played bitter songs on the way home from walking the dog- so much fun haha
As for scheduled exercise, I didnt end up doing any :/ but Im scheduling it in in my weekly schedule starting next week! Im starting up bullet journaling again since uni is starting next week. The only thing Im excited for is preparing my bullet journal xD
Eating hasnt been the healthiest this week, as my mum has brought in a lot of pies and unhealthy food :p I need to control myself and eat healthier by preparing my own meals or picking alternatives... my sleep has been great though! Got a decent amount of sleep every day. Water intake has been minimal again this week though. I feel like I need to migrate to the kitchen to study so I can be lazy and get water one metre away from the table haha
Went on the funniest dog walk today, because theres this toddler (not sure how old, but old enough to talk and understand) and I found out first hand how toddlers have zero filters xD they say anything they want, to whoever! Its not the most appropriate to say what he said, but it made us all laugh for so long afterwards xD
Overall, Ive been in a good mood this week! Yay!
I hope you have a great week ahead! xx
@rebecca947
Hey Rebecca! Glad to hear that you had a great week!... Awesome job on getting out and about and walking your dog and walking with your sister! Sounds like you've gotten in LOTS of activity recently!!
.... And how awesome for you that you are having some really nice weather (especially when you are currently in the winter months)!!
... I love when we get those kinds of winter days! lol..... I'm sure all the attention your dog got kept him very happy!
Also, how AWESOME of you to start scheduling and making time for your exercise goals!... Just know that it doesn't have to be too "Formal".. even if you are only "Walking" that IS a workout as well!... Whatever you decide to do for yourself, I am SOO PROUD of you for taking the time to squeeze it in and get it done!
I'm sorry to hear that your mom's choices seemed to have gotten you off track a bit this past week with your eating.... It happens... For instance, next weekend is my Step-dads birthday, (And my Dogs! lol).. and we are having cake and Icecream for both! lol.... And who knows what else??.. So I'm already looking ahead like, hmmm...... How is this going to go? What kind of will-power will I have!?.... But its great that you know what you need to do for yourself, such as "preparing your own meals" and "choosing healthier alternatives" when you are able... At least you have it in you to do so... some people aren't even sure what to do or how to start! Also.. CONGRATS on the "Sleeping"!... How great for you... and here I am still the "night-owl" when I should be sleeping myself... Thats my issue.. I'm too much of a nightowl to lay down at a decent time... But kuddos to you for making it happen! And being the "Early-Bird" who gets the worm!!... lolol....
And Oh my! I would LOVE to hear whatever it was this Toddler had to say to you! HAHAHA... And you are so Correct... Small children like do NOT have filters.. (They actually can if they are taught to have them)... but, they can be brutally honest as well and just say whatever comes to mind!.. Maybe one day, you can share with me in a personal message..hahah
Anyway.. I'm so glad that you were in a good mood and good spirits this past week!... Yay for good moods!!!
I hope you enjoy and have an Amazing week, and yet "Another" great week ahead! Thanks so much for checking in and for continuing to support this community!
@PoliteOcean
Aww, thank you :) ❤️ooh, your dog and your step-dads birthdays! Heaps of celebrations :o and a happy birthday to them when the days come! Hmm, treat yo self a little! :p then exercise the food away later! And hmm, Ive stayed up late the past week xD which means I slept in til late. I do need to prepare myself to sleep early and wake up early now- and I have to wait for another 17-18 weeks until I get to wake up late! Definitely making the most of it now.
Hahaha yes, toddlers can be brutally honest! Good and bad sometimes xD Ive heard many stories! xx
@ Twinny
adaptation still hard, but i try to go one day at the time, drink lot water and stretching and swimming
@vivelespatates
TWINNY!!!!!

Yes adaptation can be challenging sometimes.. but its really great that you are taking it "one day at a time".. Sometimes that is one of the best things that we can do for ourselves... Lots of water, stretching and swimming are all really great and healthy things~
Thank you for checking in this week and letting us know how things have been going for you!
To be honest, the week hasn't been great. Too unproductive, too emotional and too tiring. To top it off, that's all because I can't manage my own mind effectively.
The month hasn't been fantastic either.
I might finish a crochet blanket in the month ahead, so that's good.
Highlights of the past week:
1. The family got together and cleaned some of the house.
2. I started a crochet project (the blanket, which is for a hopefully-soon-to-be baby).
3. I finally dragged my weak, asthmatic self to karate class and no one was nasty about my lack of conditioning.
Highlights of the month:
1. I found 7Cups
2. For just a few minutes following a breathing exercise, I actually felt safe, good and peaceful in my own skin. Of course I crashed hard, but still, I have the inspiration to keep pushing myself into self-care.
Anything else I'd like to share . . . not really, except that I'm really tired of trudging through all the stuff in my head every time I try to do things. I know getting better is a process and all that, and I'm okay with that, I just question my own stamina.
@EnthusiasticBeach
Hey Beach!
So sorry to hear that things weren't the greatest for you this past week....
Its great though that you are looking ahead at some positive things for yourself such as finishing your crochet blanket! Would love for you to share an image with us if you'd like once that is all completed! I bet it will be lovely!
I LOVE your list of highlights!...Family coming together to get things done is awesome! Its great when you can have and get extra help with things. And AWESOME job on the Karate class! Even in the midst of having some issues with your Asthma, but you did it and got it accomplished! So Kuddos to you!
Also we are so very glad that you found us here at 7cups! We are so glad to have you here and happy to support you! And its really great that you took time to get in the breathing exercises!.. Those are really great. I haven't done them in a while, but you inspired me to go back to doing them! And YAY for Self Care!!!.. It 's awesome when you make time for "Yourself"! Because its something that only "You" can do!... And just concentrate on "you" and being in the moment and feeling good, and caring for "Your" needs only! I'm glad that you felt "Safe" and "Peaceful".. those have to be two of the top best ways to feel~ You know?!..
Continue to keep up the great job that you are doing for yourself!... The breathing exercises, making time for "You".. self care breaks... doing things that you enjoy like crochet!... And the rest will start to fall in line and come into place!
Thank you so much for checking in this week and letting us know how things are going for you!.. Please continue to check back with us!
This week has been very curious. In fact, the last year has led me here and I was doing very well. Then, I faltered a bit and fell into old habits. I want to beat this. I don't want to feel sad, lost, confused, or drink too much any more.
I feel like I'm not in the right place in my life and more so than ever feel like there must be a new path out there just waiting for me to discover it.
I'm trying to put some space in between a relationship with my best friend. He admitted that he embellishes things he says and that seems hurtful to me. I anticipate the truth and honesty. Not a web of deceit. It does me no favor to be told embellishments.
I don't even know where I'm going yet I am awake and today has a purpose to at least get me to tomorrow.
Feeling confused this week. And that feeling hasn't quite cleared my mind yet.
@beonehuman
Hey there!... We're glad to have you here with us... Sorry to hear that you feel you have fallen back into old habits..that can happen sometimes. And its great that you already have it in your mind that you dont' want to continue to "Stay" in old habits or continue to be a negative place"... So thats good.
Its also a good thing that you are trying to distance yourself from any negativity including potentially negative friendships...and that you are able to recognize that. So thats great for you as well!
You know... we don't always have to know where "to go " next, or "where" to go next in life, but its really AWESOME that you see the potential in "today" ... and that today has its own purpose. I Like that!
Perhaps I even needed to hear that myself. So thank you for that inspiration today!
I'm sorry to hear that you are feeling confused at the moment, but all we can do is take "ONE" Step, 'ONE" moment, "ONE" day at a time... We are here to support you! and we are here for you.
Thank you so much for checking in this week, and for sharing your feelings here with us. Please check back and continue to let us know how things are going for you please! I mean that sincerely.~
@PoliteOcean
**How has everyone been doing over the course of the past week?! A bit stressed out but managing
**This is our Last Check-in for the Month of July already! How do you feel this past month has gone for you? I think it could have gone a bir better
**What things are you looking forward to in the new Month ahead? hopefully going to the beach
**What have been your "highlights" over this past week? What are your weekend plans?! spending time with new friends...no plans for the weekend yet
**What have been your highlights for the Month of July?! My friend Alice moved into town :)
@Mellietronx
Hey Mellli!... So nice to hear from you this week! I've been thinking about you each week and wondering how you were doing and where you've been.
Hope things are going well for you.... Sorry to hear that you were a bit stressed out, but its good that you are "managing" .. Thats all we can do you know...
Sounds like you have some great plans ahead on hitting the beach!.. One of my favorite places.. Can't go wrong with the beach.
And how nice that your friend Alice has moved to town!... I'm sure you will be making some good plans with her as well in the future time to come and have some fun!
Thanks for checking in , its great to see you this week!
I cant believe its almost end of July. When weather is good time goes very quickly. I try to make the best of the wam months with plenty of fresh air. Trying to keep exercising and eating healthy to keep anxiety under control. A few family reunions made staying on a healthy diet a challenge. But back on track now. Hope to get more organized so I dont get stressed out. Will enjoy the outdoors this weekend. Enjoy your weekend.
@sail46
Hey Sail! I can't believe its almost the end of July either!.. Crazy how this summer has just flown by... Its great that you try to make the best of the summer months... I try to do the same myself. Sounds like it does "wonders" for BOTH our anxiety levels!... And thats a great thing.
I'm glad to hear that exercise and eating well helps you with your anxiety levels and helps to keep things in check....
Sounds like you have been busy with alot of reunions and family time?!... I know how that can tend to get one off track if not careful...( Just the holidays of Memorial day and 4th of July got me off a little as well, but not too bad)... , but sounds like you are doing the best that you can to get back on track "right away".. and thats what counts.. Because the sooner you do the better for sure!
It also sounds like you've been a little busier than usual which may have tended to cause some small disorganization?.... .I can totally relate to that... and I know that even the slightest disorganization can cause "anxiety" to set in and levels to rise and increase stressors. Organization in our lives can certainly help keep those levels down.... Making a plan to become more organized is a great start! Good luck with that.....
Have fun enjoying the outdoors this week and the remainder of all the beautiful summer weather that we do still fortunately have ahead of us for the next month or so.... And have a great week yourself! Thanks so much for continuing to check in each week and let us know how you are doing!
I'm not sure if it's the hot weather and maybe also quitting caffeine slowly but I'm struggling to do simple things like get up and brush my hair and teeth. I'm also not drinking enough water these past few days and I'm not sure if I'm going to walk today. It's just so hot. I know that's an excuse. Maybe I'll get up the energy to do it later. My body feels so heavy. ugh
@AbejaReina
Hey there ,sounds like you can be having a "crash" or coming down from the Caffeine as you say... and it could be causing you to feel like you perhaps don't have energy. Increasing your water intake could potentially help and give you a better feeling overall....The heat can often "zap" our energy at times and if you aren't used to the heat, or activity then that can be challenging as well.
However, since I don't fully know your situation, you haven't really said how long its been going on for as well... So, if its something that has been going on for awhile, then you might also want to consider being seen by a physician to to rule-out any other causes of why you might feel this way as well!
I'd say continue to pay attention to your body as time goes on in the coming days, and try to determine what feels right and what doesn't as you have been, and take it from there. Sometimes simply getting up and moving around, (whether walking in place for a few moments during a commercial, or around the block etc...) can even give us a nice energy surge to do more!
Good luck on everything, and thanks for checking in this week to let us know how you are doing, we are here to support you.
@PoliteOcean Thanks it's just been low energy for a few days but it's also been a few days since I started slowing down on the caffeine. I'm working on drinking more water consistently.
My last workout was good. Increased what I have been doing before. Tried doing some flies on the TRX for the first time where I was angled so my face was looking down rather than up. I hadn't really considered that I had never done them before that way until I went for it and slightly overextended my elbow (no damage done, just pain in that split second). Retrying it keeping to what I could manage - my range of motion was pretty pitiful! I used to be like that for tricep extensions though and those I now actually look like I'm doing something
I don't think the chest flies are going to look much better anytime soon though.
For those more curious - what I have done -https://www.coreenergyfitness.com/product-p/2.02.htm
What I tried - https://www.5bestexercises.com/trx-chest-fly/
My feet were ok except one kept feeling 'tight' when just doing standard things on the TRX that were mostly upper body focused. I do try to stretch my feet regularly but I think I need to spend a bit more time on that.
Enjoying some food from the garden :) Got purple magic and amarosa potatoes for the first time today.
@AffyAvo
Thats great for you that your workout was better for you.... Thanks for sharing the visual images because I was trying to picture the whole thing in my head! Not always a good thing for me to do!! lololololol!!... But Now I get it...
You know, those are actually fun to do, I wasnt the best at doing that type of stuff, but when I was younger I used to try that type of workout... When I do it "face down".. I have this feeling like my arms are just going to "snap off at the shoulder"! lol... It would be like me to do something crazy like that If I'm not careful....... I can't say I had the greatest upper body strength to do either position back when I used to do the "regular" gym more frequently.
Its great that you are up for doing this type of workout, and that it can challenge you in some way.
Those potatoes sound great!..... I would love to be able to have a garden of some sort, but I've never been the "green thumb" type and wouldn't even know where to start lol... But I love hearing about and seeing others... You will have to share some photos of yours!
Thanks so much for checking in this week! You sound really great today!.. Continue to let us know how things are going for you!
@PoliteOcean Potatoes are easy! I know people who grow them in the big rubbermaid containers. Make some holes in the bottom, as the plants grow keep throwing soil or some people use straw on top to keep the potatoes from being exposed to sunlight. Many varieties you know you can stick your hand in the soil and pull some out when the flowers fall off. No need to rush harvesting though, they will get bigger typically until the plants die.
I tried a new cucumber - martini, and had the first one of those today too. They are yellow and it was nice and sweet. Won't have many for a while, there are only 2 others getting to a reasonable size, most of the fruit is just starting to show up now.
Hello everyone :D Awesome to be here as always...
This is the start of my second week off vacation. Unfortunately I didnt do much dancing last week as I was trying to adjust to work mode lol. The great news is I didnt gain weight during my vacay, which surprised me lol. I am proud of myself. I guess all my nature walk/hike did it for me. I wish I was still back up in the mountains with the amazin weather and views...alas I am back in the desert and the pool is too warm to enjoy.
So, plans for this week is...dance and getting my bootay back in work and workout mode. I need to push more water tho, I kinda laxed on that last week. I do feel it when I dont take my nootropics so that is a must for sure as my supplement added to my multi vitamin.
Hope all is well with everyone :D
@Keola
Hey there Keola! So great to hear from you this week!..
So awesome to hear that you were on vacation! Sounds like you had a great and relaxing time. You deserve it for sure! .... Its always so challenging to come back from vacation "mode" and get used to everything again, however, it can also bring you back feeling "Refreshed" as well, and ready to meet and take on your work needs and personal needs,... With a much clearer mind-set.
Sounds like even though you say you may have "mildly" gotten off track with a workout or water here or there, that you have still been doing an awesome job (by keeping unwanted weight off for starters) which can be challenging itself on vacation! So Great Job on that! Its quite obvious that you stayed "Mindful" in what you were doing and eating while on vacation. The water issue will work itself out. Perhaps you could look into getting one of those bottles that keep track for you, and alert you when its time to drink and keep track of your overall input?!....
Oh btw, I actually saw an add/article about the Nootropics too recently!.. I didn't have a chance to fully read through but I am certainly going to take a more detailed look into it! Sounds like its working great for you as you are still raving about it!...
Can you share with us how you feel its been helping you and your journey so far?!.. Would love to hear a "real" review from someone I know on it.
Hope that you have an amazing week ahead! Thanks so much for checking in this week and keeping us up-to-date on how you've been doing! Always love to hear from you!
