**ANY & ALL "NEWBIES" ARE WELCOME TO SHARE!!**
**This past week has went well...stayed on track, ate well, got in exercise/activity each day, sleep was "mildly better, and got in Lots of water due to these very hot days~
**Started off the week teaching my usual Zumba classes Gold and Regular, Got in 3 (very hot) morning walks with my mom, swimming almost daily afterwards, and some Light weight-lifting sessions at home that I just started to finally incorporate again into my routine in the evenings 2-3/days a week..... I was barely able to get my poor doggie out in all this heat. I just felt it was simply too hot for him out there, so no lake time for him this week.~ But I finally got his "Summer Grooming" session in on Wednesday! So I'm sure he feels soo much better!
**Thursday July 4th... we didn't really celebrate in our old tradtional way....My husband was "on-call" for his job so really couldn't do much in-case he was needed... and with my son always working, picnics have been null and void since he is the only child/grandchild and it all centered around "him" growing up lol....But, I did manage to get in the early walk with my mom, and pool-time afterwards. I "VOWED" that I would stay on track with my eating and that I would "NOT" use the holiday as an excuse to over-indulge on any foods or treats.... and I did it! But let me tell you what happened!... That day I made myself stay busy with various things to avoid over-eating. So we went out and did a little "local shopping" after I was done swimming... And when we got to the local Mall, it was not long before closing time. They have this store called GREAT AMERICAN COOKIE!... And my husband LOVES these particular cookie there, and (lets be honest, I have a particular one that I like as well)... My husband went up to the counter and ordered his usual 3 cookies for $3.00 (I was NOT planning to get any and was just waiting patiently)..., and the manager gave him the last of ALL 13 of his cookies! AND.... Then Went on to give me the LAST TEN of the ones that I liked too FOR ONLY the $3.00!!! That was 23 cookies for $3.00!!...

lol......Now you want to talk about 'RESTRAINT' that day!...lol.... So I haven't had a chance to see my son since that day but tomorrow he will be getting some of the ones that were given to me as I have NOT eaten any of them!..., but for my husband.... HE ATE ALL 13 Of his!! lolol.

.... I know he had the happiest of 4TH OF JULYS to get so many of his favorite cookies~ and it took EVERYTHING in me to NOT eat any of the ones given to me that day!! And I succeeded! ![]()
The point is not that I "Couldn't" have one... BUT... it was about the "Restraint" that I set for myself, the challenge to NOT over-eat and indulge in ways that I have in the past ( and messing up my goals for myself)....
**Today I will probably hit up the local POUND class to get in some activity... and then hopefully relax since we took care of all our errands Thursday~
ENJOY YOUR WEEKEND~
spend a lot of time in water this week, weather is perfect for it, and exercices in water dont hurt much, even help with chronic pain
@vivelespatates
Yes Viv! Agree... The weather has been very perfect for being in the water. And it feels so good to work out in it and ALOT better on those joints. Especially if you suffer from any type of physical pain. It can be much easier to help with gettinng activity in of some sort.
Thank you for sharing and checking in this week
Busy week, but the weather has been warm, so swimming is now part of my exercise. Hope July is slower than June. Staying on track with exercise and eating healthy. Next week is a family reunion where I know staying on track may be difficult. I will have to be extra careful this week with diet. Being around extra deserts is very tempting and my willpower could be better. I know when you are not around cakes, pies and cookies staying on track is not as difficult. Enjoy your weekend.
@sail46
Hey there Sail~ Its great that your weather has finally cooperated to where you can start swimming more and vary your activity. I agree I too hope that July goes much slower than June did. I feel it was a like a "Blink and you missed it" month that it went by so fast!...
I dont' think I mentioned it in my post, but I am going to my Husbands family reunion as well next week. So we have yet another thing in common there. And I know I too will need to "buckle down" in the next week and be mindful of whats offered at the reunion!...
May we both continue to do Awesome in this next week ahead at continuing to stay on track. Its challenging, BUT we are doing it and we will continue to do it!...
Thanks so much for checking in this week and keeping us up to date on things and letting us know how things are going.
@PoliteOcean Hello all .
Unfortunately this week hasn't been well for me . I have failed miserably in meeting my goals and targets set . Which also means that my depression has kinda worsened . I need to pull my socks up . Cannot afford depression to dictate anymore.
Wish me luck !!!!!!!!!!
@calmsoulmeet
Hey there Calm!...
I'm so sorry to hear that you haven't had the best of weeks.. and that it has been a challenging keeping up with and meeting the goals that you are trying to set for yourself.
Please rest assured, that we have all been there and you are certainly Not alone in this challenge! We are here for you!... I have been on this journey myself for a long time, and it can certainly be a little of a "roller coaster" ride with its ups and downs, BUT... keep in mind, that you can do anything that you set your mind to do..... it just takes a little planning and "baby steps"... take one day at a time. Write down your goals, look at them often!... Journal when needed, journel every little bit of progess that you make for yourself. No matter how small! Count ALL of your victories whatever they might be!....Every little step counts, and every bit of progess counts no matter how small as well.....
I wish you the BEST of luck on your continued journey and really appreciate you taking the time to check in this week and let us know how you've been doing! Please continue to check back and keep us up to date on how things are going for you.
@PoliteOcean Thanks a lot Ocean . Hugs . ❤️
**Hey there, How has everyone been doing this week? I'm hanging in there but I really feel stuck.
**This is our "FIRST" Check-in for the Month of JULY already!~ What things are you looking forward to in this new month? What would you like to see happen for you? I am hoping to finding a local therapist because I cannot travel 45 minutes for therapy. I also hope to write my novel
**What goals or plans do you have or would you like to make for yourself, or meet this month? work on writing projects
**Last week I asked what your plans were going to be for The 4th of July Holiday (Independence Day)..How did that day "really" end up going for you this week? What did you end up doing?
**What have been your "Highlights" Or "Struggles" over this past week? What are your weekend Plans?! Cook for weekend and help my brother enjoy his birthday. I've been really emotional stuck or I explode. No in between.
**What would "YOU" like to talk about or share with us?! WE want to hear from "YOU"!!
I keep having nightmares
@Rebekahwriter13
Its tough that you are still "feeling stuck".. I know how challenging that can be to feel that way and not being sure what your next move will be or what to do next.... Hopefully you will be able to find a much "closer" therapist that is more accomodating and can fit your needs that can also help you get things sorted out.
Sounds like some nice plans of cooking and helping your brother to enjoy his birthday. You sound like a really good and caring sister to him.
Good for you on continuing to work on and focus on some positives in working on writing projects and your novels.
Nightmares are tough... I can totally relate to that one myself as I had a few myself recently.... Hopefully things will start to look up for you soon. Thanks for checking in and letting us know how things have been going for you.
@PoliteOcean I'm excited and yet nervous I got my rides and everything for my new therapist on Friday. I'm am just afraid with my dark thoughts I'm going to get locked in a mental hospital.
I'm trying to focus, but I feel stuck and scattered brain. So my novel has not been touched in a few days.
I hope my nightmares will stop soon.
@Rebekahwriter13
Its great for you that you have been able to get everything sorted out and get your rides to see your therapist!.. Thats good that you will be soon on the road to be able to open up and share your feelings to someone that can really listen and help support you in a professional way. You may be closer than you think to getting "Un-stuck" :)
Good luck with your appointment! Let us know how everything goes for you.
@PoliteOcean
**Hey there, How has everyone been doing this week? Honestly, it's been stressful and a lot has happened. But it's been bad, with a good moment or two thankfully.
**This is our "FIRST" Check-in for the Month of JULY already!~ What things are you looking forward to in this new month? What would you like to see happen for you? I am looking forward to the end of school and the beginning of the summer holiday, I am also looking forward to spending more time with my boyfriend and seeing what happens with him.
**What goals or plans do you have or would you like to make for yourself, or meet this month? I don't really have any goals, I just want to make it through the next 2 weeks and progress in my relationship.
**What have been your "Highlights" Or "Struggles" over this past week? What are your weekend Plans?!
Struggles - Drama in school, arguments with friends, getting into a fight, drama at home
Highlights - My boyfriend
@peacefullistener22
Hey there Peace...
Thats tough that things have been so stressful for you lately and that you've been struggling with (School Drama, arguments with friends, fighting, & drama at home)
Its tough when everything seems to come like that all at once or a short time-span.
But its nice that your positives continue to be a good relationship with your boyfriend and that you have someone to lean on and help support you and that makes you feel good about being with.
Continue to focus on those positives!
Thanks for checking in this week and hopefully the past weeks "stressors" will soon be in the past for you.
I call the summer 'the siege'. Right now we are cut off and under heavy bombardment. But we are not out of ammunition and the walls have not been breeched. I continue to endure, and I can even fight, having taken only a couple of minor wounds. All this is metaphorical, of course.
Today however was my first day where I had to take two triptans. I am supplied with about sixteen a month, so obviously at that rate I am gunna run out fast. I have been managing at one triptan a day because I cunningly stockpiled them since the winter. D checked her supply and offered me one. That is so kind of her!!! But I have more still in my stockpile than she does.
Triptans are migraine medicine, should anyone read this and be wondering what the heck I am talking about. They are a serotonin receptor agonist, which is to say brain chemical medicine, as opposed to a pain killer. They help keep my brain on line.
If I do not survive this summer I will fall while fighting gallantly and they will cover my body with the colours and the pipers will play over me and other romantic rot of that nature. I do not give in! I wave my sabre high. Courage!

@Dondy154 Okay, so that was some pretty intense gunfire just now.... I have made it under cover. (Metaphors, see above!) Unfortunately I had peak migraine before triptan kicks in going on here, along with the phone ringing and emergency dental appointments for S and that kind of stuff, very difficult communication while he is at work relaying messages... so it got intense for a few minutes and I got sadly sorry for myself. But now the hard part is over, I think no serious damage. might pass out... stupid migraines. What a way to spend the day. Doesn;t matter, triptans have kicked in and I am neither deep in the doom'n'glooms nor in pain. I don't want to end up lying on the floor zonked for twenty minutes, but it's not a bad thing and it won't replace any good things. Wow, neurological stuff is funny. whups, can't type. Correcting as many keystrokes as I get correct the first time. oh so much better not painful.
@Dondy154
Sorry to hear that you suffer from Migraines... I understand that it can be very painful and challenging for those that do. I do hope that in some way you are getting the relief you need from the meds when you do take them.
I know how just having a regular stress-headache can seem so painful, and I couldn't imagine having more intensity than that. .... But its great that you are finally coming around and starting to feel better in some way~
Thanks for checking in (even on the bad days) and letting us know how you are continuing to do. Its great to hear from you. Continue to keep us informed.

@PoliteOcean
I was upset that I had plateaued the last two weigh-ins on my diet plan, and I was very tempted to quit and just go into a full-on pig out, but I didn't! I really want to keep working hard, even if I felt like I wasn't making progress, but my week got a HUGE boost in how well it's going because I weighed in this morning and found I'd not only met my weight loss goal for the month, I did it a week and a half ahead of schedule! Now, I just need to maintain this progress so I can keep after my goal for next month!
@enthusiasticSpruce8104
Wow! Thats awesome for you. I love when that happens...
i know it can be challenging when it doesnt seem like the scale is moving the way we want and how much we want. It can be discouraging when you feel you are putting in so much work to only see minimal results as well.... I know how that feels and then to want to just throw in the towel and eat whatever. Ive been there for sure~
but.... just when we are ready to do that we also should remind ourselves of how far we come and to just keep going. Eating our feelings and backsliding without any care wont help us get to our goals any faster thats for sure.
So I think its pretty awesome that you stuck it out and hung in there and were able to be strong and meet the goals that you set for yourself!! Great job to you. Continue to keep up the great work. And he sure to check back in and let us know how things are continuing to go for you
@PoliteOcean
hello ocean! wow, long time no see! i have been doing good so far this week, i was very active and ate very healthy.
i am totally looking forward to ... summer in July!! tanning myself in a swimsuit at the beach, spending great days with my friends, vacation with one of my friends, vacation with a group of friends. and tomorrow is my last day of school wohoo!
my goals for this month would be keeping on eating healthy as i have been trying out so many new recipes and stuff and i am also trying out buddha bowls! i actually bought a book about buddha bowls today and it looks so good. other than that, i would like to keep on exercising and working out on my abs for sure. Consistency is the key for my body! But of course, also having fun and living in the moment and enjoying myself.
my weekend plans are: tomorrow last day of school, then i am going to a beach party and after we are going to a club. On saturday and sunday: do not know yet!
@AveryLove
Hey there! Yes, long time no see...
Good for you that you had a good week as well as remaining active and healthy~
Yes July is a great month! Theres so much to do... Its hard to believe that you are just finally getting out of school! I'm sure you are very glad about that. Sounds like you will be staying very busy!
How awesome for you that you are making and creating goals for yourself to continue living a healthy lifestyle by working out, eating healthy and trying new recipes!... I have heard of Buddha bowls before. ... I've never tried one of course, but they do look pretty good.... And yes, I agree that consistancy can be the key for eventual success! .... BUT...yes, I also agree that we do need to make time and room for "Fun" and "Enjoying life by living in the moments sometimes"!
Sounds like you have an exciting time coming up for you over the next few day! I'm sure you will certainly enjoy! (Afterall, who doesn't love a great beach party!)... I mean come on now, Its the BEACH afterall!!! lol
Enjoy~
Thanks for checking in this week and letting us know how things have been going for you~![]()
