I'm so excited for my friend as I'm giving her a Thrive 3-day sample. I'm not in this for the money - I'm in it to help others feel better. Since starting Thrive on Feb 27, my blood pressure is NO LONGER high, it is now NORMAL and HEALTHY! I am now more REGULAR, have more CLEAN ENERGY, more FOCUS, and a BETTER MOOD. THANK YOU THRIVE!
Had my hematology appointment this week. Basically things are looking good that way and my hematologist does not think my HAE is causing some of the other problems I'm having. So need to figure that out if possible. Frequency of attacks is really good considering my history.
Workout this week was a bit lazier. I needed that as I slept sooo many hours. Not even sure how many, past 12 for sure.
Warm weather would be so good! We were thinking of doing a trip (or husband solo) so he could help out his parents but with 2 snowfall warnings, the 2nd now this week for that area it's been postponed.
Reactive lymph node is being problematic this week. I wish it was just in that area I felt pain as that's more tolerable. It's the referred nerve pain that's difficult. Pollution levels have been high, so hopefully a bit of a change of weather and it will blow that away.
@AffyAvo
Thats really good new for you regarding your app't!... And also that the frequecy levels are good too........ Also, its ok that you feel that your workouts were a bit 'lazier' this week, you have to continue to do whatever is best for you and your situation. And if rest if what your body needed, then in essence, your body was getting its best!... Sounds like you really need it if it was past 12 hours! Can't say that I haven't done that before. I'm sure it felt good....... Hopefully the trip that you and your husband have planned will come together soon. I know this weather has been back and forth :/ Thanks so much for taking the time to check in this week, its great that you feel up to doing so, and let us know how things are continuing to go for you.
Hi there, newbie here. I am lonely today, but otherwise okay.
The past week was uneventful. I am a teacher at an international school, and don't have many friends in the small town I live in, so it was also a bit lonely. I've taught abroad for 5 years, but I am starting to mis living back home in the States.
The time zone doesn't change here, so luckily haven't had to adjust to that.
Highlists from the past week: at student parent conferences, all of the parents seemed to express their students really liked being in my class, and thought I was a good teacher.
On Saturday I was invited to a coworker's house for dinner, so that broke up the monotony a bit.
Things I am looking forward to:
My boyfriend coming to visit, though I am not sure when that will be (he travels a lot for work, and as it is we live an hour and a half apart).
Finding out about jobs I applied to for next school year.
Leaving the small town I live in now (15 weeks left)
Things I want to talk about or share: Pretty much what I said above. I just feel so lonely, and this felt slightly less lonely than jotting it in my journal. I have dealt with mild anxiety and bouts of depression on and off for quite some time. I know a lot of strategies to deal with these feelings but lately I've been feeling to unmotivated to do any of these things. I don't feel healthy or sexy or interesting, and I am not interested in doing much. I am ready for a new chapter in my life but trying to break out of this funk I am in to make it there.
Anyhow, hope you all had good weekends, and have good weeks this week. Thanks for letting me get that off my chest.
@ElizaJ
Hi Eliza, welcome to the Healthy Living Subcommunity. I am Ocean the Subcommunity Leader. We are happy to have you join in here and are here to support you in any way that we can!
I'm sorry to hear that you have been feeling lonely where you are. You sound like you are in a very interesting place and time in your life. Being and teaching in a "New" place sounds very interesting. And it also sound like you don't have much time left there to go. Only 15 weeks away. Time goes by so fast, 15 weeks will be up , and here before you know it! ...I think its great that your students feel and think so highly of you and that the parents are taking note of that and complimenting you for it. ... Its really nice that you have co-workers who seem to be nice and reach out to you and invite you over. Its good to have those relationships and friendships to keep you going. Perhaps to help you not feel so lonely as well?! Perhaps you could return the favor? Invite them over sometime? And continue to keep that going?.......
I think it wouldn't be a bad idea to have or keep a "journal" as well to jot down your feelings in a quick, brief moment, to help get them out. Sometimes it helps make you feel better to get it all out and down, and to just leave it there. And then walk away from the feelings.....Another thing perhaps is finding that things that you "are" interested in? Or have interested you in the past even, re-discover those things? When we have or "gain" a "purpose" , it can really help change our perspective on things. It can be challenging dealing with anxiety & depression, but doing some of the above things can also help with "coping". And thats something we can try to do, find coping mechanisms, and work on those coping skills. Even getting out and about and discovering things around you? A new place, a new park, taking a walk and discovering or seeing things that you didnt before. You even stated that your boyfriend was coming to visit. That is really great and something to look forward to! Perhaps planning for his arrival by coming up with something "new" for the two of you to do could give you something even more to look forward to?
Just know that we are here to support you, and you can also private message me anytime if you'd like to chat. Thank you so much for joining this community and checking in and letting us know how you are doing! Best of luck to you.

Hello, I joined this community as part of my growth path, I am obese, depressed, and suffer from anxiety. I try to watch what I eat but am often eating what we can afford and leftovers. I recently saw references to a diet that was basically one meal per day fasting with less than daily calories in that one meal. If anyone could steer me to more information on this diet, I would greatly appreciate it. Off to make some hummus. Cheers
@ruffneckred
Hello Ruff! Welcome to the Healthy Living Subcommunity. I'm Ocean, I lead this subcommunity, and its nice that you have joined in with us and want to make some healthy changes in your lifestyle. We are here to support you the best that we can. I'm sorry to hear that you are having trouble with Obesity, depression and anixety. Often those three can go together, because when a person tends to be over-weight, more than likely they are un-happy with themselves in the way they might look or feel, which can also then lead to depression and anxiety about themselves and the things around them. They may not know where to start, or simply how to make the desired changes that they might need.
I have been there myself, and I know that its not a good feeling to go through especially when you're unsure of where to start or what to do.... Some things you might be able to consider is to "Start Slow"! By changing up too many things at one time, it can be over-whelming for some. Usually when people start with their "Food choices", in the beginning, just making simple changes there, can often lead to HUGE results!... We can exercise all day long, but when we don't change the way we eat, it won't really change a thing.
So perhaps starting slowly, finding a way that can work for you and that you can actually stick with. Things like Removing "white" carbs like (White breads, pastas, rice) and swapping them for "Brown" breads/pastas/rice.... (whole wheat or whole grain) if you are able to do so. Adding more fruits when you are wanting something sweet, .... or adding more veggies in your meals. Eliminate the amount of sweets/sugars you might be eating... cut down on "empty" calories such as sodas and juices and swapping them for "Water". There are people (including myself) who have lost/dropped LARGE amounts of weight just by cutting out or cutting back on soda and juices which are empty, liquid calories!....Once you are able to get your "eating & food" habits under control, then perhaps start adding in some simple exercises such as plain "Walking"! You'd be surprised at what just simply walking can do for your health!.... It can be a huge game changer by burning calories, getting your heart rate up and boosting your metabolism which will in turn help with weight loss. And it can increase your "stamina" to help you to not only keep going, and increasing the amount of time that you are able to walk, but it can also help you work your way towards other things that you might like to try or incorporate such as dancing, or riding a bicycle, or group fitness classes like Zumba?.. Honestly that's how I started out. Just by simply walking and increasing my time, and then finding something that I loved to do, which was dancing!.. Which then I found Zumba classes and became an instructor!
So perhaps starting small, research different eating plans online if you are looking for something specific.... I personally do Weight Watchers. But there are so many things out there to help you , including FREE things like MyFitnessPal (Which is online as well as an "app" that you can enter in the foods you have eaten and it will help to guide you based on your height, weight etc...etc...and help you figure out your calories and other things)...
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out here or privately message me if you'd like. We are here to support you!
@PoliteOcean
Thanks for the warm welcome. I have tried many of the things you recommended, with some success. But (I hate that I use that term) I seem to find reasons to fail. I would love to chat some time, I have a listener, who became a friend, which is great, but the helping portion of the relationship seems to have stalled. Thanks again for making me feel welcome.
Friday was the first anniversary of my dad's death. My mom went on a bus trip with my aunt to keep herself busy for the day. I met one of my sisters and went to a museum. Then we all met up, along with my other sister, for dinner. One sister and I spent the rest of the weekend with Mom and I came home this afternoon. It was good to be with my family so none of us had to be sad alone. I was good during the week with diet and exercise, but not so good on my trip. Back to my normal routine tomorrow.
@SadMe70
Hey there Sad.....
I can't believe its been an entire year already.... Time surely goes by so fast, sometimes in a blink of an eye. And in times like this, it can have you feeling the exact same way that you might have felt a year ago. It brings up all the memories of the event and emotions etc..... I'm glad to hear that you and your family were able to get together during this time and none of you had to be alone. Its great that you all remain close and continue to support one another. Sometimes things like this can even break families apart, for those who can't seem to "cope"..... but it sounds like you and your family are surely honoring your father's passing in an emotionally healthy way.
Thank you for sharing that here with us.... And for letting us know how you and your family have been doing and how you all are cointinuing to support one another. I do hope that even though its a challenging time for you all, that you were able to also "enjoy" one another's company and any memories that you may have shared with one another during this time.
Continue to take care of yourself, and keep up the great work at continuing to get back on track in the best ways that you can! Thank you so much for checking in this week.
@PoliteOcean Thank you so much for all your kind words. I can hardly believe it has been a year either. My sisters and I were staying at my parents' house and Mom spent the night at the facility with Dad. I clearly remember my sister waking me up about 5 AM to tell me Mom had called and Dad was gone. I am glad we have stayed close because we have all needed each other. This site has also helped me, and especially the Healthy Living Community.
finally over daylight savings time, I hopr everyone has a great week :)
