Changing up the way I run my life is something that will be happening. Also, I signed up to go back to school. These are all things I am continuing to look forward to. :)
@SteadfastStatue
That is really awesomE Steadfast! And very inspiring as well. I'd love to go back to school myself... who knows.. maybe one day! Keep going at keeping up the great work! You sound like you are ready and willing for alot of awesome changes ahead.
@PoliteOcean , insightful and well-thought out response. I do feel the same about my post. If you find it in your heart of hearts and feel school is calling you, for what you feel you would like to learn more about, I support you. <3
@SteadfastStatue
Thanks Steadfast.... I was 28 when I went back the first time... And I certainly appreciated it way more that I was older than I did when I was in highschool etc...I would like to go back now and further my Nursing edcuation some more. Perhaps even something different. I have a few other things in mind.
What would you like to do or go back for?!!
Your insight, I feel it @PoliteOcean. I actually plan on getting into life coaching. I feel a deep satisfaction when I see others find success in whatever form they find that in. I also just really thrive when I meet new people. Everyone is unique and human diversity is beautiful, in all of its glory: good, bad, ugly.
@SteadfastStatue
That would be a really great thing for you Steadfast!... I can tell how much you like helping out others just by the way you are here at 7cups. I have been looking at "Life Coaching" as well!...
I truly feel that if that is what you heart desires and is set on, I say Go For it!.... You deserve to have all your heart desires to accomplish!
@PoliteOcean I hope that if the other things you have in mind, or nursing, remain on your mind, you asre able to find a way to make that possible. You sound like a phenomenal human being, which I am confident will serve you well, wherever you go.
Hello lovelies!!
it's been a rough road but i think I'm finally reaching a smooth one soon. I have given up soda drinks got I good, water intake is definitely on the rise. stopping when i am full is definitely a plus. still haven't gotten around increasing my activity but i have a new job (second one) so I'm sure I'll be moving alot more, so we'll see.
Im posting this on the fly so i hope everyone is doing well :)
Good Luck all... have a great week
@Keola
Keola!!! I've missed you!!.. Its great to see you, and good to hear that you are making some good, positive changes for yourself! Thats awesome!
And I can't believe you took a 2nd Job as well! Boy I remember those days... they weren't too long ago. I think I always carried a 2nd job since I was a nurse. lol... People seem to think that when you're a nurse, WHY would you need 2nd job...lol... But I kept my fair share of them! lol...
And yes, that ought to keep you moving for sure!! Don't work yourself too hard!! Remember to Take care of yourself and make time for your needs too my dear!!
(We caregivers, often don't stop to do that)
Keep up the great work, and thanks so much for posting this week and letting us know How you are doing!
@PoliteOcean ... I missed ya too and sorry been gone long... shouldn't be doing that too much. I know, second job in another ER, I wanted too work with the manager who moved to the other ER and so i applied haha :p
Thank you for the reminder for self care, i will do that for sure.
i turned on mu health app on my phone and started doing mini focused body area exercises... used YouTube and Pinterest to find them... but these are short exercises I can do anywhere, even at work haha.
Well, I'll be back next week. Thank you for this positivity and encouragement and support <3
My workout today was different, the majority of it was not individualized. It was a traditional circuit. I had modifications and I didn't totally keep up with the pace (a bit of resting during the active periods). For one station even with modifications it just wasn't working when I tried it once so I swapped that out for a stretch.
I feel good about it though, it's been a long time since I've done that much that close together. Heart rate was basically up for much longer periods of time than usual. I'm tired out now, but I feel ok. Other than a foot issue getting a bit aggravated from the one exercise I tried once (plus the others surrounding it) I don't think I'm going to notice any more after effects than normal.
I don't think this is something I could do regularly though, I was feeling pretty good this morning. Had I not been I would have had to have dialled it back more I think.
@AffyAvo
Thats great that you are feeling good about things Affy!.. Awesome. Sounds like you were able to get quite a bit in with moderation!...
I'm curious, what are you goals when you are working out? Are they to stay in shape, or to help keep up strength and stamina, both or "other"? I don't think I ask that of everyone often, but you are one of the ones that do tend to work out regularly when you are feeling good and up to it.. So I was just curious about that.
@PoliteOcean My goal is to be healthier overall. When it comes to working out I think about it as function. I have found that working out has reduced the likelihood that I will have an attack from doing something simple on a day when I feel pretty horrible. Or on a more typical day, I can do things in the garden. Endurance & strength are both helping with this. With my trainer, I'm not working on the endurance aspect as directly, but even doing things like pushups on the TRX, squats, etc. help with that even though it's not specific cardio. And when I do stepups on a fairly high step it's something I find difficult and it takes a long time for my breathing/heart rate to slow down again but I have still seen a decent improvement.
It is partially why I got the row machine, although that didn't work out for as long as sessions as I had hoped. Gardening and shopping can help with endurance too.
A friend and I experienced some extreme stress on our friendship which reiterated the importance of communication. In a relationship, romantic or not, speaking up about how you feel is so important. It is how we share information. Feelings matter.
