**The past week has gone well... Busy as usual with a few app'ts this past week and teaching Zumba classes....Anxiety remaining stable and on the lower side... I stayed on track with meals, water, workouts, steps, and my sleep has been not so bad either.. I managed to sleep 4 nights so far this past week within the required/needed range. My intentions are to continue to keep up with that and continue the best that I can towards my Fitness goals. I may start teaching Pound Fitness sometime in June, so hopefully I will have time over the next week to start practicing the choreo.

**The weather has been absolutely gorgeous here! Sunny, Beautiful and finally HOT as well!... I've gotten out everyday this week and walked either with the dog at the Lake or through the neighborhood with my husband in the evenings....This weekend is supposed to be Sunny and gorgeous and a much needed great weather weekend for Mother's Day plans. I probably won't get to see my Son, because he has to work, although he may stop to visit me after he gets off, or catch up with me the next day... But I intend to go and visit my own Mother and spend some time with her.

**Today I just plan to spend the day with my Husband, and get outdoors of course. Take a nice drive, dinner, maybe some shopping and relax and enjoy the day and the weather. Theres a local "Beach Bash" festival going on in a nearby town to get ready for the summer, with lots of different vendors, so hoping to go check that out as well~

ENJOY THE WEEKEND EVERYONE~ yescoolsmiley

Keeping my goal of 10,000 steps per day. Drinking plenty of water and eating light. With yard work and getting a chance to start gardening my anxiety has stayed in check. Gardening is very relaxing. Keeping holiday added pounds off. All the work to lose the 10 pounds is a good incentive to watch what I eat. I am glad I like fruits and vegetables, which makes it easier to watch calories. Everything is starting to bloom which is a nice change of pace from winter. Looking forward to swimming in another month. Will cook a nice seafood dinner for Mother's Day. Enjoy your weekend.smiley

Sounds like you are continuing to do quite well Sail.... I think this time of year really helps as well (With keeping anxiety in check and also wanting to stay on track). Its great that you find relaxation and enjoyment in your gardening. I hear that it is really relaxing (as well as hard work) Meaning I hear it burns some great calories as well!

I have no "green thumb" to save my life! Lol.. I would love to be able to grow my own flowers and veggies but, don't see that happening any time soon.

I'm like you, in that I am so ready to get back to swimming as well.. Our pool opens at the end of the month so a few weeks into June I hope to be back at it as well. I am still in such envy that you live so close to the Ocean! I would be over there walking EVERY moment I had the chance! I know that burns alot of great calories too... Its great that you have gotten off your holiday pounds. I am still a few away, but I'm getting there. Its so challenging to get it back off when its SOOO easy to put on in the first place. I just don't get it. Thanks so much for checking in this week! Enjoy your weekend and the beautiful weather!

@sail46 I also enjoy gardening. Unfortunately I don't have a plot, because I live in an apartment, but I have several potted plants that live on my balcony (tomatoes, kale, zucchini, and peppper). Gardening and being in nature is therapuetic, so I'm glad that you've found something that you enjoy and helps with your anxiety.

May is apparently a month of transitioning the thought to align with some motivations.

Trying to figure out a workout plan(s) that won't aggravate injuries. This is coming about harder than I thought bevause I can't straight adapt old workouts and just go. I am really having to plan the minutae of the routines vs just go do it. Learning curve is steep.

I'm looking at re-adopting Sparkpeople to help on my fitness path. It looks more appropriate than years ago and motivation, oh I need it. :) As I haven't any support to go forth and get healthy, I think I need some sort of option.

Insights please... if you care to share. When you are / were just starting your fitness lifestyle, what do you wish someone had told you? Tips, ideas, advice - I'd like to know. THANKS

@diplomaticconfucious

Hi there!

Sorry to hear that you are having some challenges... Living a healthier lifestyle can have its challenging moments for sure. Especially when we fall into some "setbacks". But just know that you can do whatever you set your mind to do, and we are here for you!

When I first started out, I just started small and simple. By 'walking"!.. .Its low impact, its FREE to do, and you can choose where you do it. Once I built up some stamina through doing it, I started to incorporate eating well within that same week, (For me, I chose to start Weight Watchers)... which keeps my eating in check, YET, it doesnt restrict me to what I can eat, as long as I stay within my points and range.

When I started to see results, then I started to incoroporate more things, find things that I enjoyed doing (For me it was ZUMBA). .... My insight is that if you find something you ENJOY it will NEVER seem like "work"!... Also, start small, it start too fast, or too big, then it will all seem overwhelming to you and you'll want to give up....... Keep it simple, make small changes where you are able through foods, through working out, go to YOUTUBE find things you enjoy doing, take a simple walk outside and enjoy the weather, swap sweet for fruit, swap white carbs for brown carbs, add more veggies and fruits where you can are able.... EVERY little step adds up!.. You can do it! We are here to support you. Thank you so much for checking in this week. Be sure to check back and let us know how you are doing!

@diplomaticconfucious

I started using Sparkpeople. a few months ago. It is very helpful keeping track of calories and helpful tips in the challenge area. I only use the free version which is fine for me.

@sail46

Thanks for sharing your experience. I tried SparkPeople prior to the apps even existing... and most areas were under development- to the point I was the first entry on most gluten free product info input and adding gf recipes. That just seemed to make it more burdensome to use, if that makes sense.

I think that's why I fell out of using it... too much work to make it beneficial to my diet restrictions.

The calories tracker, water tracker, recipes and articles are more what I am interested in than the social tool. The social was major drama back in the day.

I have had another so-so week, some exercise but not enough, some healthy food but too many treats. I am just trying to get through until school ends and hope to get myself together. I have not been good since before Christmas.

I saw both my sons and their ladies a couple of weeks ago for dinner and my older son gave me a lovely hanging basket of petunias for Mother's Day. We had dinner again last night with my younger son and his wife, and they brought me flowers, candy, and a dress! I am not a big dress wearer, but it is beautiful and actually fits fairly well.

I have had some happy times playing with my baby goats when I go out to feed the mommas twice a day. I think I have found homes for 2 of the 7, and they will leave next week.

@SadMe70

Hey there Sad!.. So glad to see you.. Missed seeing you last week. I'm glad to see that your week went fairly well for you... (Even if "so-so", thats still pretty decent right?!)... You stated you gotten "some" exercise, and thats great as well... (Remember you don't have to be perfect, nobody is keeping track except for "you") wink.....And you stated you had "some healthy foods"...once again , even if you had some treats, its still great that you are "trying" when and where you can!

I will be honest, I know how challenging it is to get back on track... thats why I allow myself those treat/cheat days.. Call 'em what you like, but we need them... Even if we go over-board more than we want, we can't deprive ourselves, or it only sets us up for failures. I am still working on the holiday weight gain that I had.. I'm finally after 4 long months just a few pounds away , but, the stuggle is real for sure! lol... So I do get it, and understand those challenges of trying to get on track and stay there.

I think its totally awesome that you got to spend time with your boys (and their ladies) and how nice of them to get all those wonderful gifts for you!.. Thats really special. I can't imagine my family (let alone my own child) trying to buy me "ANY" type of article of clothing! lol... They know better... But I think its great that even though you aren't a "dress" wearer (neither am I wink) but that it still fit you well! Sounds like they did a great job!

I'm surprised to hear that some of your goats will be leaving you soon.. Are you trying to down-size? I know how much you care for those little babies... and how much they mean to you, and soothe you.

Thank you so much for checking in this week. I do hope that you enjoy your weekend and have a wonderful Mother's Day my friend!

@PoliteOcean I sell the new babies each year. I keep the 3 mommas that I've had for years and my one male. I did give my 2 year old female to a family we know who wanted to get some goats. It was hard to give her up but I did not really need her milk and they will give her a good home.

Hmmm... you can always call the manufacturer about it? They ususally have numbers on the back about their products. That is quite odd but I'm sure not un-heard of for some people.... Did you use the correct SPF? Usually the average person doesn' t need more than SPF30 (from my prior research on it).... But they do make SPF 50 and also SPF100 ...
