**AND ANY AND ALL NEWBIES!! PLEASE FEEL FREE TO SHARE YOUR WEEK WITH US!
**This past week has gone well... pretty much the usual. Continuing to Thrive and maintain~ Managed to stay on track with Activity/workouts and teaching my classes... Got off track again this week with "Meal planning" and sleep~ It was one of those weeks where either I just wasn't hungry, or was too hungry all at once... And I didn't stay on top of it or stay prepared for it.
**Well... I GOT MY NEW INDOOR WORKOUT/STUDIO SPACE~... Yay!.. Finally got everything worked out to start on Monday. So... my crew and I can finally move from outdoors to indoors again. And I'm hoping to get some other old clientele back as well... Now a slight downside to this, is that being outdoors allowed us to have as many as we wanted while being able to space out greatly..... But... Now that we are moving back inside. (while the space is HUGE)... I still have to take precautions of course... and now go back to placing a 'limit' on how many can attend the classes. Which I don't like to do. And of course the owner of the space doesn't have the floor marked off, so I had to do some of that today, and will have to finish up again before Monday. The floor is SOOO Big that its just alot of work. So.... will see how this goes. I just have to rely on everyone to do their part so that we can continue to keep this space.~
**No pertinent plans for this weekend ahead... other than to relax a bit, get a workout in during the morning, run an errand or two and then hopefully work on some new choreo to go along with the new space next week~
ENJOY THE WEEKEND~
@PoliteOcean
Just had a mental breakdown because my dad just wouldn't stop giving me shit just because:
- I don't act like an overexcited child when my guests leave (waving them goodbye with extreme enthusiasm). Come the fuck on, that shit is cringy af when you're an adult.
- more stuff that ive detailed further below because i want to shut this memory down as soon as possible (perhaps this is why I've gained memory loss/airheadedness, because too many bad shit happened with me).
I'll admit, what I probably should've done is to bid my guests farewell, but I got airheaded at the time and would've been nice if someone reminded me beforehand. But no, my mom decided to remind me AFTER they left. Yknow, because they're sadists like that.
If you're gonna give me a lecture, you should've at least just made it quick and to the point rather than tangling me through a guilt-ridden mess like I just committed the holocaust, the holodomor, declared war against God, assassinated all the abrahimic prophets, committed terrorism, went on a murderous rampage all at once. You didn't see me have a mental breakdown when my maths teacher tried to shame me/force me into submission, did you?
This shit is why children off themselves or start doing alcohol/drugs. Because of parents like this. Speaking of drugs, I've been always wondering how they are like...
The reason why I don't call others by their names/titles is because I've become shy as hell when it comes to this sorta thing. At least I can put my shyness asides sometimes and go chat with them; but apparently that's not enough. I literally have to fucking wash their feet or something.
The reason why I don't call my mom anymore is because a few years back, she mocked me for "being angry/moody" at her for her not receiving my calls when I kept calling her. Nevermind that she would literally scream at my face for missing her calls thrice.
Actually, when I had a mental breakdown - guess what my dad had to say. He just criticized my reaction; calling it an "overreaction". Fantastic.
I'm 100% sure that my mom said off screen to stop trying to correct my behaviors or to get close to me because I start talking "terrible things about them" or get "pissed". Overgeneralizing someone is fucking fun.
But because my mom has said so many negative shit about me that any form of (negative) comment from her (towards me) causes me to flare up with hostility and anger.
IRL, I may look pissed; but it's really just my normal face. I probably have a case of resting bitch face syndrome. For some reason I like my "stoic look" than my "cheerful look". Idk why. Is it because I find cheerfulness kinda childish? Like, I feel like people aren't going to take me seriously because of it?
I would ask my mom as to what caused my dad to give me a seemingly hour long lecture about "my behavior(tm)"; but knowing her - she's probably going to sulk her ass off or play victim - and as usual - painting me into this nonexistant supervillain.
Honestly I'm done being "good" anymore. I've accepted a long time ago that no matter what I do, some will always just think of me as an asshole; so hey - might as well.
I believe whether or not someone's a good person is dependent solely on what they do that affects others.
Besides, I'm not a goddamned mind reader. I don't fucking know what pleases who and what doesn't. For all I know, the previous prophets have told people around them that what they're doing is wrong and that caused people to get riled up against them. Even then those prophets are still going to heaven, yes? Yes?
I'll never know what pleases someone and what doesn't; and I'm not going to spend my whole life worrying about it and trying to make a guess as to what pleases them and what doesn't.
I'm just an asshole. A bad person. There - I said it. I'm a fucking evil person. Nevermind that I see the opposite sex as a fucking human being, nevermind that I never sexually harrassed them, nevermind that I'm against honor killings, racism, sexism, bigotry, slavery, pedophilia. No, nevermind any of those. I'm a bad fucking person just because I feel shy as fuck to greet someone, I don't behave like an overexcited child when my guests leave, I had an airheaded moment where I didn't bid farewell to the guests that stayed with me, so on and so forth.
Fucking assholes.
Sorry that I can't be Mx. Perfect T-9000 with Godlike charms, hyper-selflessness and intelligence...
This family is (un)lucky that I'm scared of eternal damnation. Otherwise, I'd have commited suicide a long time ago. Fuck these psychopathic bastards. Really tempted to cut off family ties once I'm out of this hellhole (home and country).
I don't mind people calling me out if I did something bad but FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, MAKE IT FUCKING SHORT, STRAIGHT AND TO THE POINT INSTEAD OF MAKING IT AN UNNECESSARILY, PAINSTAKINGLY FUCKING LONG GUILT TRIPPING MESS.
@PoliteOcean
Yayy it's amazing to hear that you've got everything worked out to start today for your indoor place! You've worked hard for this so I'm really happy to see all your efforts have paid off! I hope you managed to arrange everything as you wanted and that everything will go perfectly well!
@LinearWaves
Hey there Waves! Thank you so much for all your support and your suggestions and advice in the past regarding this!.. They were and still are greatly appreciated! Thank you for your continued support and always a kind word from afar!
And yes, hopefully, prayerfully, this will continue to go well for everyone. Not even so much for me, but for everyone that has supported me during this time and as a whole group.
Thanks again!
@PoliteOcean
Congratulations! Thanks for the good news!
Regarding sleep and eating consistently, if you need any specific tips, let me know.
I've studied and experimented with both extensively, which helped me overcome my major challenges.
Now both are completely under control for me.
@7motivation
Hey there! Thanks so much for the support
.... Thats very sweet of you.
As far as sleep, one thing I probably need to do is just "put the phone down" and go to sleep! lol... I have a bad habit of staying up late and unwinding with alot of social media stuff before actually shutting the lights out and going to sleep. I've always been a "night-owl' from a very young age. Its apart of who I am. lol... I really should do better, and always say that I will, but..... then I continue on the same habit. Not much of a healthy habit, but...
As far as meal planning and such, Its not so much that I have issues or problems there, I've been doing it for years. I know most of it "lately" has been due to the challenges of Covid and getting off track with things, while also trying to run a fitness business.
But... I'm always open to suggestions!... We can never Learn too much! lol..
@PoliteOcean You're welcome... I can share some sleep secrets I learned from real life....
I was like you.... viewing screens til late... just up til bedtime.... but then I kept reading how important good sleep is.... I wasn't feeling too good during the day often... so I figured it was most likely due to lack of sleep the night before.... so I started tracking my go-to-sleep-time... and my wake-up-time... and my hours-actually-slept time..... and the result was so erratic... it got me upset enough to want to change..... I figured: "to feel good, I really need to sleep good".
So I decided to try some sleep-improvement things I'd learned....
Here's what I do now related to your situation...
1) Turn down the house lights low several hours before bed ... so as not to mess with my body clock.
2) Turn down the browser device screen brightness low several hours before bed ...
I was able to set my devices to do that automatically.
Suprisingly... those 2 things alone are really good at signaling me that I need to start unwinding from then on.
I also...
3) Set a "final warning" reminder to pop-up that it's time to turn off the device...
that's my prompt for my new replacement habit... to do in place of my old keep-browsing habit.
So each night I always stop and do my replacement habit.... which is...
"easy peaceful quiet relaxing stretching"...
that I learned here (as you know):
I do it from memory without the video with the lights off so it's more peaceful....then I get into bed and can fall asleep quicker than I was ever able to before....
So after I made the changes above... they gradually became habits... and now I just do them so there is no pain involved.... It amazes me that my new routine is something I want to do and look forward to.... That turned out to be a big surprise considering I thought I was totally set in my ways before that.
Also...
4) In the morning, I always make sure to get bright light when I wake up... that's supposed to help reset my body clock rather than confuse it by having the lights low in the morning.
Hope that gives you some ideas.
Here a thread with all of my sleep tips for anyone else interested...
Please forgive any typos above.
@PoliteOcean Here's how the past week went. Monday my therapist was out of the office so I didn't have any therapy appointments. I can handle it. I made my favorite Russian dish - Kotleti ! The meat patty didn't adhere but it still tasted good. This past week is the last week I will be able to fix lunches for myself. My social worker has free lunches for me, but they're only available at the clinic, they don't deliver anymore. My creepy roomie touched me unexpectedly and I screamed at the top of my lungs. I suffer from something called hypervigilence, which is a symptom of PTSD. I finally got the increase in my nightmare medication from the pharmacy, but it's been such an ordeal, I can't be happy about it. I'll be happy after I start to feel better. I think my homeopathic remedy is starting to kick in, but I've got a long ways to go. My next appointment with my homeopath is Friday Dec 4th. I'm really enjoying my statistics book. I can't study to the same level as if I was in college, but I'm still getting a lot out of it. My primary goal is to go into art administration, but I can use business analytics as a back-up skill. I've been out of the job market for 15 years, so I don't know how realistic my back-up plan is. My relationship with my girlfriend Michelle is going well, but I still have a lot of reservations about it.
@Regmo
Hey there! Sorry to hear that your therapist was out of the office and you were unable to have your appointment ... But its great that you remained positive about it and was able to "handle it"!..How cool that you can cook Russian dishes. Very nice. I envy others that can cook well. I guess its all about just doing it and trying. I'm not much of a cook. Moreso because I like to keep things simple and easy when it comes to having to make foods. So I find it really great when I see so many others that really spread their wings and make some really great dishes and meals. I just need to start working on that more too. Sorry to hear that you won't be able to make more lunches for yourself and that they won't be able to deliver free lunches to you anymore either. I do hope that you will be able to come up with a way to get your free lunches that the social worker has to offer. Sorry to hear that you were touched unexpectantly by your roomate! Thats not cool. I don't like to be touched by others either. Especially someone I'm not too fond of! I certainly know that PTSD can be a challenging and difficult thing to deal with as well. I hope that you were able to make it known to them how that made you feel and that you didn't like it. And that there needs to be a boundary there. I hope that all of your medications continue to work well for you as you desire! I'm glad to hear that you are enjoying your statistics book and feel like you are getting something out of it! I'm sure that moving forward, that whatever your dreams are, that you can make them happen. Even if its not perfect, you can do whatever it is that you set your mind to do! Even if you have to do it in a different way of sorts, you can still make your dreams happen! Its great that your relationship with Michelle is still going well for you! Best of luck to you both that it will continue to move smoothly the more you get to know one another ! Continue to keep us updated on everything! Thank you so much for checking in this week to let us know how things are going and how you are contnuing to do!
Wow, another week already!? It feels like I was just writing an update here yesterday. The time is going by so fast. So far, the best thing about this month is just being able to enjoy my time in school (well, virtually) and with family and friends. A year from now I will be moved away for medical school, so I am trying to take advantage of life as I know it for as long as I can.
@99sunshine
Hey there!
I agree.. time is moving sooo fast! Its like "blink and you missed it"! lol...
So great for you that you are continuing to enjoy your schooling and your family and friendships! Thats so important right now to have those relationships and keeping things as normal as we are able to right now! Even if virtually. Its so funny that you are talking about a year from now. Time moves by so fast, that before you know it, that year will be here and up already! So continue to enjoy the here and now until then! And thank you so much for continuing to keep us updated on things and your situation and letting us know how you've been doing!
Wow once again it really doesn't feel like one week has passed already! It's crazy how lately I get the feeling that I've been racing against time!
Work wise I'm close to finishing a part of a project, well there are still many hours of processing the data but at least the experimental part is over! I'm also moving ahead well on another project. It's reassuring considering all the delay I've accumulated due to the quarantine, the slow start post-quarantine and the expected problems along the way.
This new type of quarantine added to the bad weather is a bit hard to handle on weekends, there are many things I could do to stay busy (aka finally drawing/painting, or reading a book, or even watching a movie) but for some reason I'm not feeling like doing anything because I'd rather go on a walk outside at least for a little while and then move on with my day... So it ends up being a bit depressing especially on Sundays.
I'm also feeling really uncertain about the whole situation, it feels like the government is taking really bad decisions with this pseudo quarantine, hoping to reopen shops for Christmas shopping early December, but then 3 weeks after comes Christmas break and then what? What if the cases are raising up again due to reopening the shops? I totally agree that it's extremely important to have shops open for Christmas shopping as it's when they make most of their profit... But it doesn't sound super wise to put us in quarantine, to then reopen shops, expect us to go Christmas shopping to restart the economy and then send us to our family for Christmas holidays with the risk of contaminating everyone...
This week I'm hoping to find the energy to work out a bit every day and to keep eating rather well as the past week has been pretty good eating wise!
@LinearWaves
Hey there Waves!
I know I certainly have to agree on how fast time is going!... Its crazy. The past week has been like "blink and you missed it"! lol..
How great for you that despite some challenges along the way, that work situations are going well for you! And how great that you continuing to keep up with things and on your way to finishing your projects.
I'm sorry to hear that you are feeling a bit down with the way things are continuing to go right now with the quarentine and setbacks due to Covid. I know so many areas are back in Lockdown/shutdown again. And others aren't. Its just so challenging to follow anything when so many various things are being done or not done. I honestly wish that everyone, everywhere, would just do the same things and be on board with the SAME plan, regardless of the situation. At least things might be better to control and get us to a better place faster? Its too challenging with everyone doing different things!... Otherwise there will be so much Up and down and back and forth on this situation. I'm sorry to hear that all of this is interfering with your "weekends" and playing on your emotions with everything.
But... on a more positive not, I'm so glad that you are trying to stay positive through all of this (as we don't really have alot of choices at the moment), but, we can certainly take action on our own situations. And its great that you are looking forward to having the energy to keep up with things you enjoy and keeping on top of workouts. (Even if just something small each day).. will help you feel better and keep your mind positive and your strength up! And even More awesome, that you are continuing to stay on track and eating well! This is certainly a time of sink or swim with our meals, foods etc... We can either sink and continue on a setback of eating poorly due to the things going on around us, OR... we can swim, and attempt to keep moving forward and doing the best we can to stay afloat while we are in the midst of this thing!.. Sounds like you are a Swimmer! And doing a great job! Contiue to keep up the great work. And all the best for continued positive thoughts during this time! Thanks for checking in this week and continuing to let us now how you are doing!
@PoliteOcean
Thank you for your kind words <3
So we rolled back to an earlier phase this week, starting on Monday. I'm really supposed to stay indoors as much as possible, and the quarrantine is really hard for me after discovering that I have strong Extrovert tendencies. I'm doing as much over Zoom and internet as I can. Today and Yesterday I had nothing outside the house. It was all online. I've been struggling so I took a tip from a Mental Health guest on the Bliss Bean Show podcast and tried to create more artificial structure yeserday and I think that worked... As well as blocking out time for various activities using the Activity Scheduling form that I foudn when I did the Depression module to refresh my knowledge and get a listener badge. Nothing like getting a serendipitous new tool for the toolbox unexpectedly.
@AvidGamer293
Hey there!..
So sorry to hear that your location took a step back again with the Quarentine and such..... Its still a crazy time right now for many places. And obviously even more challenging for those who are more "extroverted"... as well as those who may already suffer from Mental Health issues. Its great to hear that you are trying to do your best with everything going on around you. Seems like there really is no clue as to how much longer this could all go or play out. And ZOOM and many other online portals are sweeping the nations and becoming an even bigger "New Wave" than ever before. (Zoom classrooms, Zoom Birthday parties, Zoom workout classes etc...etc..) You name it. Seems like this will all continue to be a little "slow going" for now. But, one day at some point, we will be able to look back on it all as perhaps a distant memory.
Good for you for continuing to stay on top of things the best you can. Continue to keep up the great work that you are doing. And know that we are here to listen or assist you in any way that we can and are able! Thank you so much for checking in this past week and simply for letting us know how you've been doing!
